It was a normal day in Pirate Island. Skully was enjoying the summer sun while eating his favorite snack, crackers. Izzy and Cubby were playing basketball and Jake was being their referee. Today, they figured they would just chill.

"Woah! Guys, look!" Jake shouted. He was watching the sea when something caught his eye. He went to the shore to look at it, and found a bottle.

"No way… A message in a bottle! People rarely get those now, right?" Cubby asked, looking at the bottle from behind Jake's shoulder.

"Yeah… What's it say?" Izzy asked.

"Whazzat?" Skully asked, landing on Cubby's shoulder.

"We're about to find that out" Jake replied, pulling the cork out of the bottle. He took the small piece of paper and unrolled it.

Meet me at Shipwreck Beach at sundown. -P. Pan

"Who's that? Anyone we know?" Cubby asked.

"No… Should we go? It could be dangerous" Izzy said, thinking of all the possibilities.

"I mean, it wouldn't hurt to go. We can defend ourselves" Jake said.

"I could fly ahead and see if anything's suspicious" Skully suggested.

"Yeah… Well, let's go get ready" Cubby said, going inside the hideout to their bedroom.

Returning from shipwreck beach, Skully reported his observations.

"There's no one there except for a bunch of wrecked ships" he said.

"Hm… That's weird" Jake said, steering the ship.

"The sun's starting to set" Izzy said, leaning on the railing to look at the beautiful sunset. It was bright and colorful.

"Well, we'll just have to wait and see," said Cubby.

As it was hard to dock Bucky at the beach because of all the wrecked ships, Jake docked him a bit far. They decided they would just walk to shipwreck beach from there.

"Well, we're here" Jake said, kicking some sand in front of him.

"Now what?" Cubby asked.

"I guess we wait?" Izzy suggested.

They waited for 15 minutes, when they heard a sound coming from the forest behind the beach.

"HELP!" a young voice shouted.

"Come on, let's go!" said Jake, running into the forest with the rest following. The ran a bit into the forest until they heard the voice again.

"HELP! SOMEONE!"

It seemed to be coming from deeper into the forest, so they picked up speed and followed the voice. They stopped at the source of the voice. Two young boys, one looked 14 and the other looked 9, were in a river. The current was too much for them to climb back, and they looked as if they were about to pass out. You could see that they tried grabbing at the plants near them from all the uprooted plants.

"HELP! PLEASE!" the older one shouted. Half of his body was under.

Thinking quickly, Jake ran to a nearby tree and broke off a sturdy looking branch. He ran back to the river and called his friends over.

"Grab the other end!" he said to the boys.

They started pulling the stick. They were about to pull them out when one of the boys tripped. Thankfully, the other caught him. Together, Jake and his friends pulled them out.

"Thank you so much… How can we ever repay you?" said the older one. The younger boy was standing behind him. They were wearing simple clothes and a heart-warming smile.

"No need for all of that, we're just happy we could get here in time" Jake replied, smiling back.

"What are your names?" Cubby asked.

"I'm Nibs, and this is my younger brother Tootles" the boy replied.

For some reason, Jake felt that he had seen them somewhere. Probably in town or something.

Nibs was a thin boy with blond hair blue eyes. You could say that he looked like Cubby, only a taller and thinner version.

Tootles, on the other hand, was shorter and chubbier with light brown hair and black eyes. Judging from his actions, he was shy.

"I'm Jake, and these are my friends Izzy, Cubby and Skully" Jake introduced.

"If I may ask, what are you doing in the forest?" Izzy asked, concerned. It's not usual for people to be out here, and it's not safe here at night time.

"Benny's missing!" Tootles cried.

"Who's Benny?" Skully asked.

"Our pet bunny. He got spooked and ran off somewhere, so we tried following him. We didn't look where we were going and fell in the water" Nibs explained.

"Oh…," said Jake. He looked over to his friends, and knew what they were thinking. "What if we help you look for you bunny?"

"Oh no… You've already done so much for us. And, there's no way we'll be able to find him in this thick forest. He's as good as dead," said Nibs.

"Noooo! He isn't dead!" Tootles sobbed.

"Oh no, we'd love to help you" Cubby said as he stepped forward and placed an arm on Tootle's shoulder.

Nibs tried one last time to decline. When that didn't work, he finally agreed. Just before they left the place where the river was, Izzy heard leaves rustling. She looked back, but found nothing. Probably just the wind or some harmless animal, she thought.

They went to the place where the brothers last saw Benny, to check if there was any clue they could use. When they didn't find anything, they tried looking around. Nothing. It was starting to get dark now. They ventured deeper into the forest, but found nothing.

"Is there anything that your bunny likes? Like, food?" Izzy asked, cutting the vine in front of her.

"He likes…" Tootles stopped to think. "Carrots"

"Oh." Skully said.

"Izzy, you have any carrots in your back pack?" Cubby asked.

"Uh… No" Izzy replied.

"Well luring him out is out of the question" said Jake, walking ahead. "Woah!"

Jake stepped backward at the sight. A basilisk!

"Hey Izz, your old friend" jake whispered, slowly stepping back at the sight.

"What?" Izzy asked, but she soon understood what he meant. The basilisk was missing a tooth. Izzy had once taken its tooth to complete a quest, and it looks like the basilisk didn't forget.

"Do you think it saw you?" Skully asked.

"Yeah, it saw him alright" Cubby replied, looking at the monster slithering towards them. And it looked hungry.

"We're gonna die…" said Tootles, holding onto his brother.

"No, we're not gonna die" Nibs comforted.

"AH WE'RE GONNA DIE!" Tootles shouted.

"Don't make noise! It'll just make the basilisk angrier" Izzy said. And she was right. The basilisk started moving faster.

"Okay, when I say go, everyone run in different directions as fast as you can," said Jake. The others agreed, and got ready to run. The basilisk got closer, and when Jake thought the time was right, he shouted "GO!"

And everyone started running…. In the same direction. When they realized what had happened, they quickly scurried off to different directions.

For a moment, the basilisk got confused. But it soon realized what they were trying to do, and caught on. It started slithering towards Jake, who ran towards the tree and was halfway up it. Since the tree was too tall for the basilisk to reach, it started backing away. Jake was relieved to see it going away, but all hopes were shattered when it came running quickly and hit the tree Jake was on. Since it was sturdily attached to the ground, it didn't fall at once. Though, Jake was spooked and almost fell off. So, the basilisk backed up again.

This time, Jake acted quickly. He jumped to the tree next to him just before the basilisk hit the other one, which came crashing down. The monster lost sight of Jake and went towards the two brothers who were hiding behind a tree. It was face to face with Nibs and Tootles, and they were terrified.

Seeing how their new friends were about to get eaten, Jake snuck up on the basilisk and stabbed it on the back with his sword. The basilisk turned around to face Jake, but blood was flowing out of its body, and it looked weak. Jake did feel bad, and he knew that Izzy would be giving him a lecture on harming animals even if they were vicious, but he had to save his friends. And plus, it wasn't dead. It would probably heal up in some cave and come get its revenge after a few months or something.

The basilisk gave a threatening growl, but didn't do anything. Instead of launching at Jake with all it's might, it slithered away.

"It's gone. You can open your eyes now" said Skully, landing on Tootle's shoulder.

"Dammit, my sword! That was my best one!" Jake cursed. His wood sword that he bought from town for 3 gold doubloons was now broken and smeared with blood.

"That could have gone a thousand ways, and you chose this…" Izzy said, coming from behind a huge boulder.

"Hey, all's well that end well" Cubby said, as he dropped down from a tree.

"We should watch out for that thing… It could try to get us again," said Nibs.

"True… We should keep an eye out" Izzy said. It was dark now, and that was not good at all.

"I don't think we should continue looking…," said Nibs.

"I'm sorry, but I think I agree with that too… It's dangerous if we stay here any longer" Jake agreed sadly.

"Monsters will get us?" Tootles asked.

"Yeah…" Cubby answered. He felt sad seeing the teary-eyed look on Tootle's face, but he didn't want anything bad happening.

"Is your house near here?" Izzy asked.

"Yes, it is" Nibs replied.

"We can walk you there" Skully offered.

"No, please. You're too kind" Nibs refused.

"Please, let us. It's dangerous out here" Jake said.

"Ah… I guess there is no use in arguing, is there?" Nibs asked, to which everyone nodded.

"Watch out!" Jake said, pushing everyone out of the way of a… ball of fire? What? When they looked to see where this mystery had come from, they were terrified to see a big, ferocious wyvern standing in the distance. Wyverns are like dragons, but with two legs instead of four. But they're just as dangerous as their distant cousins. It had purple wings with horns on both ends, with the rest of its body red. Blood red.

"A…Wyvern" said Izzy, awestruck. "It isn't usual for wyverns to be out in this part of Neverland"

"Yeah, creatures like wyverns are mostly found in Neverland North. We learnt that in school" said Tootles, proud that he could be of use.

"Then why the heck is this one here?" Jake asked, looking back to where the ball of fire had landed. It was full chaos. Plants and trees were burning, going back the way they came from is out of the question.

"I think it's getting ready to fire" said Skully.

"Jake... what do we do?" Cubby asked, trembling with fear. Basilisks are one thing, but a wyvern? This is no joke. They were having very bad luck today.

"How are supposed to go back home?" asked Nibs, worriedly.

"EVERYONE! SPLIT UP!"

Author's Note:

I'm afraid I'll have to end it right there. Hope you like the first part, and stay tuned for the next one! When is that? That will take some time. You see, I'm actually going back to my homeland for about 2 weeks, so I won't be able to write anything. I'm sorry to inform you that this story will be on hold until then.

Thanks for the review, Yavuz! I'm glad you liked it! And actually, the full name of Bucky is The Buccaneer! It was mentioned in an episode… which I don't remember the name of haha…

Anyways, with all of that being said, see you soon! Soon as in maybe after quite a while. Stay safe! Hope you have a nice day! Bye bye!
