"We're going to Camp Half-Blood," Nico said.
"Wait, what? How will going there help me find my mom? And would I even be allowed there? I'm not a half-blood." I said rapidly, a million questions running through my head.
"No, you aren't," Will replied, having recovered from the shock and wiped his tears. "But you are a legacy."
"A what?"
"A legacy, a descendant of a god. You're a legacy of Apollo because your mom is a daughter of Apollo." I was about to correct Nico. That my mom was a daughter of Apollo, not is. But Will seemed to gain some hope from it, so I didn't.
"Also, going to Camp Half-Blood might give us some hints as to what happened to her. And even if it doesn't, you need to go there anyway." Will explained.
I still didn't quite understand, but they gave a valid reason, so I just nodded my head.
"Great! Neeks, can you go call a taxi? Thanks." Will asked, not even giving Nico a choice.
"Fine," Nico grumbled, rolling his eyes as he turned around. "And don't call me neeks!" He shouted over his shoulder, though I could hear the smile in his voice.
*small-time skip, dedicated to all the blue food*
"Long Island Sound please," Will said to the driver once we were all seated. It was quiet for a while until Will spoke up.
"So how did you avoid the monsters? If you didn't believe the stories Alice told you, that means you have never encountered them." There was something weird about the way he was talking, but I couldn't quite pinpoint it.
"Monsters? What monsters? Are you talking about the ones you guys fight with? If so, why would they come after me?"
"You said that you only live with your mom, right? No mortals?"
"Uh, yeah. What about it?"
"If you are living with a demigod, with no mortal to cover up the scent, then monsters would find you easily."
"Wait, I have a scent?"
"Yeah. It's why those pesky things keep following us."
"Oh. I didn't know. I thought it's because they just hate you guys for some reason."
"Well, that too. But mostly it's because they want to eat us." He said, his face scrunched up with disgust.
"Eugh." I shook my head. "I don't know how I avoided them. I guess it's because I kept moving, and never stayed in one spot?"
"I guess… depends. Where did you go to?"
"Everywhere."
"As in…?"
"Umm… I've LIVED in UK, India, China, Pakistan, Russia, and Africa, and I've traveled to a few other places in Asia and Europe. But that's nothing compared to where my mom's been to. SHE'S the one that has been EVERYWHERE."
"So… you've never been to America?"
"Nope."
"Huh. I guess that's why they couldn't follow you. But there's still something that doesn't make sense…"
"Has your mom ever gone missing?" Nico asked, joining our conversation.
"Uh, yeah. Her dead body is literally missing right now." I replied without missing a beat.
"No. I mean other than that. Like, has she said she's going somewhere for a bit, and that you should stay there, but when she comes back she looks like she got in a fight?"
"Uhh… I guess it's happened a few times, but she never looked like she came back from a fight. Maybe a few cuts and bruises, but she's just clumsy."
"So that's how you've never seen monsters. You said she'd leave you for a bit, then come back with cuts and bruises. It's from the monsters. She might just CLAIM that it was an accident, but it's actually a monster." Nico reasoned.
"Yeah. I've never known Alice to be clumsy. It might have just been an excuse so you wouldn't worry." Will reasoned.
"Ok, I guess that makes sense."
After that, it was silent for a while.
"Rose?" Nico asked, breaking the silence.
"Yeah?"
"If you only live with Alice, then where's your dad?" There it was.
"He's dead…" I said, my voice extremely small.
"Oh. I'm sorry." He apologized, twisting his ring.
"No, it's fine. Someone would have brought it up sooner or later."
"So… what happened to him?"
"I'm not sure. He died before I was born. My mom always said I would be able to see him when I'm older, but I have no clue what that means."
"Oh," Nico said, frowning. He shared a look with Will and they seemed to decide something.
"Is something wrong?" I asked.
"No. It's just that we think, and don't freak out, you might be a demigod too." Will said.
"What? What do you mean?"
"Well, your dad is 'dead', but you will be able to see him when you get older. It sounds like he didn't ACTUALLY die. It sounds like he left before you were born." Will explained.
"Huh? Ok, but if it IS true, how does that make me a demigod?"
"It's exactly what happened to me. My dad left before I was born, and I had never seen him until he crash-landed into the Camp Half-Blood lake a few years ago." I blinked. What the heck? Their lives are weirder than I thought.
"Ok… whatever." After that, there was no conversation for the full ride. I tried to clear my head because I had a feeling that there would be a lot more confusion coming my way.

There you have it! Chapter 3 is here! If you have any theories, don't hesitate to share them! Hope you like my story so far. Constructive criticism is always welcome.
I do not own the Percy Jackson books or any of the characters (they belong to the wonderful author Rick Riordan) except for my OC's Rose Brown and Alice Brown, and the plot.
