"Dang girls look at you sitting here like your tails won't ever wag again." Riley says as he comes over to Alexis and Delilah.
"Do you blame us? You were right about me getting attached to Shadow..." Alexis says sadly.
"Riley I feel terrible. How could I have said those things to Chance?" Delilah asks sadly.
"You did what you had to Delilah. You both did. It was for the best." Riley says.
"Was it? Was it really?" Delilah asks.
"It doesn't feel it was what was best." Alexis says.
"Delilah, Alexis listen. You're street and they're not. I'm sorry but that's just the way it is." Riley says.
"I know but I miss him." Delilah says.
"And I miss Shadow." Alexis says as she leaves with Delilah.
*Timeskip*
"Come on Delilah. Just a little further." Alexis says as she is running with Delilah.
"Hold on boys. We're almost there!" Delilah says as she and Alexis stop seeing Chance in a yard with humans, Shadow, and Sassy nearby.
"Delilah?" Chance asks as he sees Alexis and Delilah.
"Oh Chance. I've missed you." Delilah says as she runs over and reunites with Chance as Alexis goes over to Shadow.
"Alexis what are you two doing here?" Shadow asks.
"We came because we realized we made a mistake. I want to be with you Shadow. I want to spend what time we can together. Just as Delilah wants to be with Chance." Alexis says.
"Are you sure?" Shadow asks in surprise.
"As sure as I've ever been. Are these your humans?" Alexis asks as she notices an older boy coming over to Shadow.
"Yes this is my boy Peter. That's Jamie and their sister Hope." Shadow says as Alexis backs slightly away from Peter.
"I don't know Shadow." Alexis says worriedly.
"If you're gonna stay you'll need to. I promise you'll love them." Shadow says.
"That's not what worries me... Oh. Right there. That's the spot." Alexis says as she feels Peter scratching behind her ear.
"Wow, what cool-looking dogs. What kind of dog are they? Neither of them have collars." Peter says.
"Must be strays. They probably run together considering they seem to have come together." Peter's dad says.
"Can they stay Dad? I don't want Chance to be sad again." Jamie says.
"And Shadow does seem pretty happy this one is here." Peter says.
"Yeah they can stay." Peter's dad says.
"Pizza!" Chance shouts as he tackles a pizza guy and gets into the pizza.
"Chance no!" Jamie shouts.
"Welcome to the family Alexis. You too Delilah." Shadow says.
"Is Chance always like this?" Alexis asks as she giggles.
"Yes but you'll love living here." Shadow says as he chuckles.
"I already do." Alexis says as she nuzzles Shadow.
