Celeste's POV

3 months later

"Report to your stations immediately. This is not a drill. We are under attack. We are under attack." The voice announced over the speaker.

There was a constant buzz around the cold, dark room I was standing in, next to the newbies. Wanda and Pietro Maximoff. They had just graduated so to speak, from the HYDRA program, and given powers.

HYDRA agents were moving around in a panic, trying to take control of the attack we were under.

The Avengers were here.

Fischer and I had arrived in Sokovia a month ago, to assist in protecting the sceptre HYDRA had procured from the fall of S.H.E.I.D. about a year ago. With the previous attacks on the HYDRA bases, Fischer received the orders to take me as the asset to protect this fort. They were getting worried, that was clear to me. A part of me was getting extremely anxious that this might be the end for us. But I knew Fischer had faith in me. As should I.

"Who gave the order to attack?" Strucker asked to the room of soldiers. I was standing close enough to hear them.

"Herr Strucker, it's the Avengers. They landed in the far woods, the perimeter guard panicked." One of the soldiers responded.

Strucker turned to the doctor. "They have to be after the sceptre." Tuning back to the soldier, "Can we hold them?"

"They are the Avengers!" He responded, with a look of pure terror on his face

Ignoring his concerns, "Deploy the rest of the tanks." Strucker ordered.

"Yes, sir."

"Concentrate fire on the weak ones. A hit can make them close ranks. Everything we've accomplished. But we're on the verge of our greatest breakthrough."

"Then let's show them what we've accomplished. Send out the twins." Dr. List spoke up.

"It's too soon."

"It's what they signed up for." List insisted.

"My men can hold them."

Fischer stepped forward. "Herr Strucker, if I may. You requested I escort Tempestas here. At least put her in the field, see first hand what she can do...?"

I stepped forward slightly, ready to serve and prove myself. Wanda wasn't so bad, but Pietro was a bit cocky for my liking. He would only piss the attackers off, putting us all in more danger than we already were.

"Herr Strucker, I am ready to comply." I said confidently. He turned towards me, looking me up and down, a sense of discomfort washing over me. I pushed that aside, there was more important issues at hand.

"Fine. But don't disappoint me. If you do, don't bother coming back." Strucker snapped.

I turned to Fischer, he nodded at me, putting me at ease. I could do this. I can do this. I will do this. I can't risk Fischer's life, the only person I consider family. The only one I have left. I nodded back to him, I must be confident in myself.

I made my way out of the room, heading toward the exit. Once I felt the chill of the air on my face, I conjured the clouds, thunder and lightning. I lifted off the ground into the sky, soaring to where the fighting was.

A man with a red cape, dressed in armour and longish blonde hair had just used a large hammer to flip a tank into about twenty HYDRA soldiers. I flew straight to him, landing not ten feet infront of him, lighting surrounding me.

At first I could see the shock on his face, but then, "Is that meant to be intimidating?" He asked cockily.

"I don't mean to intimidate. I mean to fight." I respond.

"Well, okay then. But I must warn you, I too am a fan of electricity" he smirked.

He then proceeded to point his hammer in the air, conjuring lighting. I decided to throw some lighting at him before he could hit me. Not that it actually does anything to me, other than a slight sting. You get used to it after a while. He then slammed his hammer into the ground, destroying the ground below us.

We continued this little game for a minute. I'd never come across someone who could also use lightning, but I was beginning to get bored. I did have a job to do after all. So I decided to switch it up. I threw a ball of fire at him instead. I used wind to contain it as it began to turn into a flame tornado, surrounding the large man, taking him by surprise.

I soon used the fire to fly off towards more shooting in search of my next target. I had heard over the comms that Wanda and Pietro were now in the field. It's not often do I work with others, so I'd need to remain alert.

I saw a man with a bow and arrow in the distance be knocked off his feet. Pietro was having some fun. I decided to avoid him, and head to a bunker to get a better view. A dangerous target, but at least it would draw someone in that direction.

Once I arrived at the bunker, there were soldiers shooting in the direction the archer was. Soon enough, I hear a terrifying roar, and a flash of green in my peripheral vision. I turn and blast ice towards the figure, in an attempt to slow him down by creating a wall. It does the job, but not long enough to get better footing before he crashes through, looking right at me.

I'd felt the sickening chill when I realise he's only a few steps away, and grabs me, lifting me into the air. I send electricity through my body, attempting to shock him. He grunts and growls, dropping me at least 8 feet into the snow. Unfortunately, I wasn't quick enough to soften my landing, my head hitting some of the debris from the bunker that had been destroyed.

My vision was blurry, my head aching.

"You've got to be kidding me. No way am I getting a concussion from a huge pile of green shit." I grunted out. He responds with an almost scoff-like noise.

I roll onto my back, just in time to miss his hands grabbing at me again. I push myself up with my arms, feeling the warmth of blood drip down the side of my face. Shit. Why am I feeling sick...?

Just as I'm about to get to my feet, a powerful shock is sent through the forest, knocking me back again. I feel a large hand grab my leg, lifting me up off the ground. Swaying upside down has me feeling even more nauseous and I can't stop myself from dry heaving.

The green creature throws me into what looks to be a jet of some kind. Groaning, I say "I have failed my mission..." before I pass out.
