Celeste's POV
We had made our way to a salvage yard, on the African Coast. I barely spoke the whole journey. What could I even say? I did however think about the twins and their reason for wanting to fight Stark. I can't deny, I understand that they'd have all those feelings, I mean here I am, stewing on how much I want to hurt Fischer... and I don't even know everything. But I won't lie, this Ultron character is really out there... I can't be sure I can trust him, and after finding out my whole life is a lie, I don't think anyone could blame me.
I decided I needed to stop thinking about it too much. I don't want to put myself in danger with both Wanda and Ultron having abilities that could see into my mind. After what I've seen Ultron do and Wanda's mind manipulation, I didn't want to face that.
We made our way into this old salvage yard, and to an office where we heard a man speaking on his phone.
"Don't tell me your man swindled you. I sent you six short range heat seekers and got a boat full of rusted parts. Now, you will make it right, or the next missile I send you will come very much faster." He hangs up and switches to another call, "Now, minister, where were we?"
Ultron instructed one of us to dim the lights, so I had tampered with the power as we got closer. The lights go out and you can hear the commotion throughout the yard. The twins and I take this opportunity to enter Klaue's office, coming face to face with him.
"Yeah. The enhanced. Strucker's prize pupils. I don't know you though..." he says looking to me, "What's your thing?" My response is setting one hand aflame, the other with electrical sparks. He nods, then picks picks up a plate from his desk, holding it out to us, "Want a candy?" He offers, "Oh, sorry to hear about Strucker. But then, he knew what kind of world he was helping create. Human life, not a growth market." Wanda and Pietro look at each other, then to me. "You...you didn't know? Is this your first time intimidating someone? I'm afraid that I'm not that afraid." Wanda obviously didn't see everything about HYDRA then... but now a part of me is even more suspicious on what I had always been told. I need to get more answers.
"Everybody's afraid of something." Wanda says, turning back to Klaue. I mean hell, she'd know.
"Cuttlefish." Klaue says randomly. "Deep sea fish. They make lights. Disco lights. Whoom, whoom, whoom! To hypnotize their prey, then whoom! I saw a documentary, it was terrifying."
Pietro is suddenly at the desk, picking up a candy. Klaue reacts by jerking himself back, obviously expecting Pietro to attack him. Pietro just unwraps the sweet, popping it in his mouth.
Klaue turns back to Wanda and I, "So if you're going to fiddle with my brain, and make me see a giant cuttlefish, or you're going to electrocute me, then I know you don't do business, and I know you're not in charge, and I only deal with the man in charge."
Ultron takes this moment to break through the glass window, knocking Klaue to the floor.
"There is no "man" in charge." Ultron states, "Let's talk business." Klaue gives Ultron some form of metal. "Upon this rock I will build my church. Vibranium."
"You know, it came at great personal cost. It's worth billions." Klaue says. Ultron chuckles and remotely puts money in Klaue's bank account.
"Now, so are you. It's all under your dummy holdings? Finance is so weird. But I always say, "Keep your friends rich and your enemies rich, and wait to find out which is which.""
"Stark." Klaue says aghast.
"What?"
"Tony Stark used to say that...to me. You're one of his." Klaue states.
"What?! I'm not...!" Ultron grabs Klaue, "I'm not. You think I'm one of Stark's puppets, his hollow men? I mean look at me, do I look like Iron Man? Stark is nothing!" He suddenly produces a long sword like weapon, slicing Klaue's arm off. I jump back and gasp. What the hell?! "I'm sorry. I am sor... Ooh, I'm sure that's going to be okay." Ultron says, as if he were a child who just hurt his sibling. "I'm sorry, it's just I don't understand. Don't compare me with Stark! He's a sickness!"
"Ahh, Junior."
We all turn to the interruption, seeing Tony landing on the walkway, Thor and Steve walking up behind him on either side. I make eye contact with Steve, who looks disappointed. I can't help but feel ashamed and look down, bowing my head slightly.
"You're gonna break your old man's heart." Tony sasses.
"If I have to."
Thor speaks up, "We don't have to break anything."
"Clearly you've never made an omelet."
Tony turns to Thor, "He beat me by one second."
Pietro steps forward. "Ah, this is funny, Mr. Stark. It's what, comfortable? Like old times?" Gesturing to the nuclear weapons below us.
"This was never my life." Tony responds.
I look back up to see Steve moving forward slightly, looking to the twins, then me "You three can still walk away from this."
"Oh, we will." Wanda says in a condescending tone, to which I frown.
"I know you've suffered." Steve says sympathetically, making eye contact with me once again.
"Uuughh! Captain America. God's righteous man, pretending you could live without a war." I see the look on Steve's face, and can't help by feel my heart ache. "I can't physically throw up in my mouth, but..."
"If you believe in peace, then let us keep it." Thor tries to bargain.
"I think you're confusing peace with quiet."
I decide to start backing off, making eye contact once again with Steve, who slightly nods. We're on the same page it seems - this isn't going anywhere peaceful.
"Yuh-huh. What's the Vibranium for?" Tony questions.
"I'm glad you asked that, because I wanted to take this time to explain my evil plan!" Ultron yells theatrically.
Suddenly the Iron Legions fly in and attack. Ultron lifts his hand and pulls Tony forward without touching him, then shoots red lasers at him. They fly up and begin a one on one battle. The twins race forward and attack Steve and Thor.
As I was moving back, trying to get a better vantage point, I over hear Klaue say to one of his men, "Shoot them!"
"Which ones?"
"All of them!" Klaue yells.
His mercenary yells, "Move, move, move!" To the other men.
They turn and see me, raising their rifles. Suddenly the gunshots start, but I'm fast enough to raise my hands, producing enough ice to act as a shield, stopping the spray of bullets. I then push it forward, knocking the men backwards. I produce more to contain them, we don't need more men attacking.
I look up to see arrows flying into the Iron Legions, Clint is on the other side of the room, Natasha further in the hallway attacking Klaue's men and Iron Legions. Looking down, Wanda isn't actively fighting, but sticking close to the walls, while Tony and Ultron are still flying up and attacking each other. I decide then and there, that I don't want to be a part of Ultron's games.
I shoot flames at some of the Legions, with a high enough temperature that they start to malfunction. I see a bluish/silver streak running around my peripheral vision, and decide to try and slow Pietro down. I swing around and down to where he seems to be. He slows down to a normal run, where I take the opportunity to kneel and swing my arm from the ground up making an ice wall, to direct his movements to get him to run on the ice patch I just produced. He follows it just as I wanted, slipping on the iced patch into a pile of ammunition boxes.
Pietro looks shocked, but I turn and start fighting the Legions that are giving Steve and Thor a hard time. They work well as a team, but I'm picking off the ones attempting to sneak up on them. One arm I'm using flames, the other ice, trying to determine which is more efficient for this fight. So far, the flames is more permanent, but it takes longer to stop them. I choose to avoid lighting on them, as it'll likely charge them up more than they already are.
Pietro's flashing is back and I see Steve's head fly back as if he was just punched in the face. Pietro stops right in my face until I light myself in flames, flying to the other balcony. He runs again, towards Thor, who throws his hammer back towards Pietro. Next second, Pietro is flying back down into the centre of the room.
I can't help but laugh out loud "Still a cocky shit, Pietro!"
He groans in response, lifting himself up from the pile of cases he landed in. "Oh, fuc-"
He gets cut off by Steve slamming his shield into his face. "Stay down, kid! And watch your mouth when you're talking to a lady." I smirk in response at this.
"Who says I'm a lady, Cap?" I wink at him. He gives me a lopsided smile.
"So, you're on our side now?" He asks.
"Well... for now... I need some answers." I look up at him, suddenly self-conscious.
"I can help with that." he says, just before he gets hit by another Legion.
I blast it with ice, apparently enough for it to stiffen up and drop to the floor.
Huh, emotions...
I start heading back in the direction of where Clint and Natasha are. I get to Natasha just in time to see Wanda standing behind her, using her powers towards her head. Natasha's eyes flash red, and she looks out of it.
I flash lightning towards Wanda to try and stop her. I've seen the result of this, and it isn't ideal. She's quick enough to throw up a forcefield. I keep throwing lighting and she keeps deflecting them as we move towards each other, until suddenly I'm knocked into the wall.
Damn, Pietro.
I try to get up, but then I feel as if my brain has been taken over and I'm taken back to that night I killed my family.
