Celeste's POV

I come to on the jet once again.

I see Thor standing off to one side, Natasha to another and Steve sitting down on the left, looking into space. Bruce is sitting on the floor directly in front of me, clearly affected. We must have all had similar experiences.

I feel... strange... full of so much emotion. Sad, angry, scared, there's just too much. I feel my body shaking, and try to breathe to calm myself. My heart is palpitating.

We hit turbulence.

"Thor, is that you?" I hear Clint ask from the cockpit.

"No, it is not." Thor responds, everyone turning to look at me.

I realise that I've unintentionally created a thunderstorm that we're now flying through. I close my eyes, trying to hold back my tears, taking in another deep breath, and hold.

1...

2..

3...

And release. I breath out.

I feel someone sit next to me.

I repeat my breathing exercise, until we're flying smoothly once again.

"So, your emotions can affect the weather?" A male voice asks, the one who sat beside me. I know who it is and I can't answer. Not right now.

I know it was just a vision, but it felt so real. And reliving that night...

I don't know what it is about Steve. I had always been told such terrible stories of the man he was, the man he is. What damage he's capable of. But I suppose I've felt an ease with him that I've not experienced with anyone else. But I just can't stand to look at him now, not without feeling every negative emotion I could possibly feel in a lifetime.

What he said in my vision... more like my nightmare... I felt it hit the nail on the head. I am a monster. It's true... I am. After everything I've done, using my powers for evil and following a man I considered a father figure so blindly... what other word could be used to describe me?

"I'm sorry, Celeste. I'll leave you be, I just thought-" I felt him begin to lift himself up.

"I know what you thought, Steve." I cut him off, "and I appreciate it." He sat back down. "I just... I went through something... as I imagine we all did... a-and it's just too much for me right now." I speak looking at the ground, then lift my head to the roof of the jet as I feel tears working their way out again, trying to prevent them from falling.

"I understand. If you... if you'd like to talk about it, I'm here if you need me." He offered gently.

I turn my head towards him now. I only see empathy and sincerity in his gorgeous blue eyes.

I smile just a little, "As I am for you." I barely whisper to him.

He returns my smile, remaining seated next to me. I recognise that this makes me feel better, and gently scoot closer to him, so our arms and thighs are touching. We look at each other once again, I to make sure that this is okay. His face remains kind and he gently puts his hand on top of his thigh that is closest to mine. I mirror his actions. After a while, we eventually end up brushing our fingers together.

I can hear Tony speaking with someone on his device, just not very clearly. He does turn around, eyeing all of us in our current state of minds with a concerned look on his face.

"Everyone's...we took a hit. We'll shake it off... So, run and hide?"... "Neither do we." Tony says, hanging up and turning back to the cockpit.

"Hey, you wanna switch out?" He asks Clint. This conversation is loud enough for me to hear.

"No, I'm good." Clint declines. "If you wanna get some kip, now's a good time, cause we're still a few hours out."

"A few hours from where?"

"A safe house."

Steve obviously heard this also, handing me a blanket. I thank him, draping it over my body, up to my chin.

"Probably not a bad idea to get some rest." He says.

I nod, getting myself comfortable. "You're right, I just hope I don't have anymore visions."

"I'm here if you need, remember." I look to him, then rest my head against his shoulder closing my eyes.

I wake up a few hours later to the Quinjet landing. I look up at Steve, who greets me with another smile. I'm beginning to feel my insides melt, I swear.

We all exit the jet, to see a large farmhouse surrounded by plenty of land. We make our way to the building.

"What is this place?" Thor questions.

"A safe house?" Tony answers, posing it as a question.

Clint looks over his shoulder at us, "Let's hope." He says, pushing open the front door. We all follow him through. "Honey, I'm home." He announces himself.

A heavily pregnant woman makes her way out from the kitchen. Clint walks towards her.

"Hi. Company. Sorry I didn't call ahead."

"Hey." She responds, kissing and hugging him in a greeting.

"This is an agent of some kind." Tony says to Thor.

Clint turns back to us, "Gentleman and lady, this is Laura."

Laura smiles at us, "I know all your names," everyone else gives her awkward looks, "just not yours." She states, looking to me.

"Sorry, this is Celeste. I guess you could say she's kinda new." he chuckles, shooting me a wink. My heart warms at this. We hear rumbling on the stairs. "Ooh, incoming." Two children, a boy and a girl, run into the room.

"Dad!" The girl says excitedly as Clint lifts her in the air, resting her on his hip.

"I see her!" He claims, kissing the top of the boys head. "Hey, buddy! How you guys doing? Ooh..."

"These are...smaller agents." Tony says to us as we all look on in surprise. Well most of us.

"Look at your face! Oh, my goodness!" Clint exclaims.

"Did you bring Auntie Nat?" The girl asks.

Natasha steps forward, "Why don't you hug her and find out?" The girl rushes into Natasha's arms, who picks her up.

"Sorry for barging in on you." Steve apologises, moving closer to me.

"Yeah, we would have called ahead, but we were busy having no idea that you existed." Tony sasses.

Clint looks to us, hugging his son and wife on either side of him. "Yeah, well Fury helped me set this up when I joined. He kept it off SHIELD's files, I'd like to keep it that way. I figure it's a good place to lay low."

"Honey. Ah, I missed you." Laura says to her husband.

I hear crushing from my left, Steve and I look down to see Thor had stepped on some LEGOs. The two men make eye contact, both widening their eyes and slightly pulling their bottom lips in. Neither must know what LEGO is. Thor then gently moves them out from under him with his foot.

Natasha moves over to Laura, touching her stomach. "How's little Natasha, huh?" She ask with a grin.

Laura giver her a worried smile, "She's...Nathaniel"

Natasha's face falls, bending down to Laura's stomach "Traitor". I gently giggle at this.

I notice Clint's daughter walk up to Thor, who looks down at her in return. He frowns. Thor, Steve and I look away as we hear a toaster pop up. Thor suddenly walks out of the room and through the front door.

Steve walks out behind him, "Thor." I hear him as he continues out the front door also.

I decide not to follow, but walk to Tony and Bruce.

"Here's our personal Weather Channel." Tony jokes. "You doing okay?"

"Uh... yeah... listen, at least while you're both here... I wish to apologise for the trouble I've caused." I say to both of them. I'll speak to the others when I get a chance.

"Celeste, please don't apologise. It seems to me you were living a lie not produced by yourself." Bruce says.

"Yeah, I guess if the Cap is okay with you, given his past with HYDRA, you mustn't be too bad." Tony says.

I look to my feet, "Thanks, that kind of makes me feel a bit better." I look back up, "I just feel pretty stupid..." I trail off.

"Hey, believe me, we all do stupid shit." Tony says laughing quietly. Bruce nods along. "I loved my trust in someone when I've as younger and he ended up trying to get time killed, so... you're not alone."

"Celeste, I can make you up a room." Laura comes up beside me, gently touching my shoulder. I turn to her and smile.

"Thank you, Laura. Let me help you."

"Oh, don't worry about it."

"Please, it's the least I can do." I insist. She smiles, showing me up to a room.
