When they got back to ops, Deeks immediately yelled for everyone to go to ops.
"What's going on?" Rountree asked.
"Six o'clock tonight, we have an operation-"Deeks began.
"Who's the target? And who the hell authorized this, because it sure as hell wasn't me!" Kilbride yelled.
"David Kessler is the target! And honestly, I don't give a damn if you authorized it or not!" Deeks yelled. Kensi reached over and gently rubbed his arm. Kilbride quieted down and closed his eyes.
"What do we know?" he asked.
"We know he started getting close to Julia. We had her call him, and he agreed to come to the bar. We're going to have agents there, ready to get him," Deeks said.
"Okay. You put Julia and your mom in a safehouse, right?" he asked.
"Yes sir. Agent Castor and his partner are with them," Deeks said. "We have until six to prepare for this. We cannot afford to make a mistake here."
"No, we cannot. Okay. Kensi, are you willing to put yourself in?" Sam asked.
"We don't have a choice," Kensi replied.
An hour later, the team was gathered in the armory.
"Okay. Julia will get there a few minutes early, and we're going to put a camera on her. She's going to sit at the bar. Kensi, you're going to be at a corner table with some papers, to make it look like you're working. You'll get up and walk to the bathroom. Fatima, you will be waiting there. Kensi, we're going to give you a code word, and Fatima, when you hear it, Fatima, you will pretend to be applying makeup off to the side. You will both have weapons, and the moment he makes a move, you will say a code word and the rest of us will be in there within thirty seconds. Callen, you're going to be our bouncer. You need to turn everyone away. We need to make sure that we have no innocents in danger. Sam, Rountree, you and Sam will be in a booth near the bathroom. As soon as Kessler walks to the bathroom, we're going to get Julia out of the bar and as far away as possible. Everyone understand?" Kilbride said firmly. Everyone nodded. "Good. Sam, what did you learn from Castor?"
"Not much. Apparently, he talked a lot about a late wife that was murdered. Castor showed her a picture, it was Michelle Boucher. Castor made sure she knew that he killed her. She took it well. I think she's in shock," Sam said.
"Let's do this, guys. We still need to make sure Julia understands the plan," Callen said.
