Chapter 2: Let the Games begin

Tenma began to move away trying to find a place to hide and maybe get some items that might help her get out of this place. The mission said she could gather 10 items. And so she set about taking in what could be useful in getting out and maybe down the line. She found a pocket knife and she placed that with her coin purse inside her left automail arm. She also spotted a box of matches and took them also placing them in her arm. She could hear the footsteps again and knew she needed to leave. She ran down the hallway holding her mini bazooka as she ran. Once a safe enough steps away she caught her breath. Unaware that a pair of red eyes was watching her with something akin to amusement.

Tenma kept going and soon found a door that led outside. It led into a back alley and it seemed that no one was there. She slipped down of that placed and walked down said alley trying to see where it came out and where she could go. She stilled needed to find some place to sleep tonight and she needed to find a place for food or better yet a place she could transmute something into food. She walked down and spotted something by the bins. She went over and found a rather sturdy yet battered backpack. It would do if she needed to have anything else to carry. She placed her mini bazooka inside the backpack and happy to see that it just fit and there was still some more room for a few more things. Grated not a lot of room but she figured she could place some more smaller items in her new second-hand backpack.

As she rounded the bend she found herself in the slums part of Central. Most of the places and buildings looked run down and there was even a few tents set up here and there. Shrugging she walked a bit more into the slums when someone called out. "Hey girl you looking for a place to stay? I can offer one of the apartments for you after all we street folk have to stick together. Rents free unless you wish to contribute in which case just bring either food or water for the community. What do ya say?" Tenma blinked at the old man and noticed that he had tanned skin and red eyes. She knew that he was most likely an Ishvalan. Not that she cared her clothes stood out a little she will need to change that maybe with alchemy or buy one outfit. "Sure sounds cool thank you" She said as he led her to a block of flats. He pointed out where the maintenance office was and told her that a man called Mr. Hans fixes things for them. He told her that he comes from Xing, he then gave her a key for flat number 8.

When Tenma went into flat number 8 she found it almost bare. There was a bed one small table and one wooden chair and that was it. The flat was on the ground floor which was one good thing. It meant no climbing stairs but that was the only good thing about it. She put backpack down and sighed. There was no plates, bowls or anything to eat with or cook with. Okay there was an oven and a stove a bathroom that had weak plumbing and in the bathroom was a shower and a sink plus a toilet. But other then that it really was just bare. Tenma decided to make this her base camp. She unpacked the mini bazooka and placed it in the bathroom. It was out of sight and this way she could look round Central and get something like a blanket maybe find something to transmute in order to help her out.

She looked though her rule book and saw that it had been updated. She had been awarded the 100 points. And it read mission 1 complete items gathered 3 Skills/abilities earned: gatherer level 1. And with that she put her now almost empty backpack saved for the rule book which she placed inside the backpack on and walked out to scope the area. Unaware that a black red eyed bird was now watching her.

With Leo he was keeping his eyes open making sure not to run into the person that was listed on the people to avoid list. It came with a face photo of the person as well as a name. And that was Yoki who was moving to the east soon to a mining town called Youswell if he had heard that right from one of the other men. Leo had noticed that he was good at getting info by making sure to hide enough of himself that he was almost unnoticeable. He had made a move to the where the map said the hidden doorway was but now came the hard part trying to find the way in, seeing as it really was well hidden. 'darn where is it?' thought Leo as he tried to look for the way in even going so far as to kneel of the floor and see if a trap door was there.

He could hear Yoki's voice getting closer as he was talking to someone. Leo without thinking placed his hand on the wall to help himself get up but instead of the wall being solid like he first thought he fell right through it and ended up deep inside just in the nick of time. His eyes had to adjust to the darkness but soon he could see that he was in some kinda hallway. Looking behind him showed he had fell down a slope so that made him down in a basement area. 'well at least I found the way in but how do I get to the upper levels and how do I get out of here?' Leo thought as he took a breath and started to walk down the hallway. It was dark but he was still able to see enough. He stopped at a door to his left even though he could keep going further down. He opened the door to check it out and see if there was anything he wished to take.

Inside the room was a few things. He found some books and weapons. He looked the weapons over choosing a long sword that came with a belt, a bow and arrows and a hunting knife. The knife he put in the backpack while he strapped on the bow and arrows as well as the long sword. He then looked at the books and picked one up that was about out door living. He put that in the backpack as well. Happy that he had what he believed he needed and looked at what he needed for the mission finding that the item was not in this room he left the room and went back to the hallway. He walked down the long hallway and saw a door to his right and he went inside it.

Inside this room he found some clothes, bedding mostly sheets some cotton and some wool. He also found some medicine and lucky enough it was in date. He also saw more books as Leo looked through the books he found the one he needed for the mission. So he put it in his backpack. He also picked up a cookbook called outdoor cooking and put that into the backpack as well. He also put one wool bedsheet and one cotton bedsheet into his backpack. He believed to be batter safe then sorry. He left the medicine and left the room. He went back to the hallway and resumed his walk down it. Then he came to a large door at the end. He opened it up and saw it led to some stairs and so he went up the stairs.

Once upstairs he saw he was in a really rundown house. His eyes widened as he thought that maybe this was the place that was abandoned. Now he had a choice find more items to take or go straight to Tom and hand him the book. He chose to see if there was anything worth taking first. As he looked round he saw some matches and pocketed those as well as a wooden bowl and wooden spoon. He put in a wooden plate and a metal fork. He had not noticed that he had went over his item count. He then went to find a way out seeing as it was now dark outside. He made his way to the inn and walked inside and saw a man. He went up to him seeing as he was behind the bar and asked if he was Tom. When the man said he was Leo gave him the book which made the man happy to the point where he gave Leo a room free of charge for finding his long lost book. Leo went up and looked at his book to see if the mission had been done only to find he did not get the 100 points due to picking up the extra item. His rule rook read:

Back with Truth and Void they had been watching the two. "You know Void I think this will be a rather good game and maybe a good learning lesson for these two. They will find out quite a lot of things as time goes on." Void agreed the two will find out a lot of things as time goes on even finding out quite a bit about their own limits and some new life lessons they never learnt before coming here. "I look forward to it Truth I think I will take on the form of Sin who looks just like the butler from Black Butler. Yes now I still need an under cover name..." and with that Void drifted off to think on a new name for when he re met up with Tenma. Truth only smirked as he watched the boy closely and he knew somehow that this boy would be rather fun and he couldn't help but chuckle to himself as he waited to see how this game of theirs would pay out.
