Chapter Nine

NEST base…

Lennox wasn't sure what to make of this new information and knew Optimus had to be told, so, he headed back toward the medical bay. Ratchet and Optimus watched Lennox as he stared the device in his hands.

"Major?" Optimus questioned.

At the Decepticon base…

Megatron was pacing back and forth, while his men watched in a confused manner.

"Master?" Starscream asked.

"This war needs to end with us being victorious, and me having Optimus' head on a spike following with his miserable Autobots, and those annoying flesh creatures." He remarked.

"What are you planning, master?" Soundwave asked.

"A full out assault on them no one leaves no one gets out alive, is that clear?" Megatron explained.

"As you command, Megatron," Soundwave replied.

"When do we strike, master?" Starscream asked.

"Patience, Starscream this must be done right, but remember when we strike leave Optimus to me," Megatron answered in a sinister with a smirk on his faceplates.

"Yes master," Starscream said.

His troops all seemed restless but ready to do battle by this sneak attack that they figured would end in Optimus Primes death, Autobots and the meddlesome humans they protected.

Megatron purposely didn't want the attack to start until he was ready for it to start, because he figured he would have the last laugh on his brother at that point.

Missy was watching Thor as he continued to teach her how to control the lightning. Missy tried over and over again to control the lightning, but she failed each time over and over again. She hit Wheelie and Brains several times, because of not being able to control it.

They were far away from her as well, and it frustrated her. How was she supposed to save Optimus at this rate?

"Hey, little femme whatcha doin, we ain't da enemy!" Wheelie exclaimed.

"I'm trying, guys," she replied.

"Yea, tries harder," Brains retorted as she frowned at them, and bit her bottom lip.

Missy sighed, then she tried once more to control her powers as Thor had instructed her to do, but she, unfortunately, hit Thor this time by mistake.

"Sorry, I made a mistake, Thor," she said as she smiled slightly.

"I am not in a gaming mood, human," Thor remarked bitterly. "This is important or your precious Optimus Prime could be killed I would think you would rather want him saved, wouldn't you?" Thor demanded as Missy looked away at first.

"Of course, I want him alive, but what if I'm not good enough?" she asked. "What if I can't do this?" she finally demanded of Thor.

Silence…

"You have to be," Thor simply said to her as she sighed.

Missy glanced away she was just so worried she couldn't save him; she was afraid she just wasn't good enough to learn all this.

"Alright, I will keep trying," she whispered as she thought about what was at stake her hero was in danger.

She had to learn to control the powers given to her if Optimus Prime ever had an extremely dangerous situation. She had to protect him, even if it was the last thing, she ever did she'd do it.

~~~NEST Base

"Take a look at this," Lennox said.

Optimus hacked into the iPad along with Ratchet. They reviewed the information and double checked all the systems the government had to find her. They got the same results. It was like she didn't exist.

"What the frag?" Ratchet pondered. "This shouldn't be possible."

"It is like she never existed," Optimus said.

"My thoughts exactly," Lennox said. "What if she was telling the truth?"

"Then why hurt Optimus?" Ratchet demanded.

"I don't know. Given how she is acting, she doesn't seem to know about much of our world. Just what she has written," Lennox said.

"This perplexes me greatly," Optimus said.

"I don't get it either. It is making my brain hurt," Lennox said, rubbing at his head as he stared down at the pad. "One thing I do know, we have to bring her back. Not just because of your laws being broken, but because I want to know what is going on here."

"I agree," Optimus said. "I will have my troops help in your search."

"Thanks, big guy," Lennox said.

~~~Decepticon base

"Starscream," Megatron called.

"Yes Master?" Starscream asked, coming to his leader's side.

"We leave in several weeks from now. Let the Autobots think they are safe. They will lower their guard down," said Megatron.

"About that. It would seem that they are searching for something," said Starscream.

"Do you know what it is?" Megatron asked.

"No. I have Soundwave working on that now," said Starscream.

"Then we will use this to our advantage," said Megatron. "They will be distracted. Then we will strike when the time is right and I am ready."

"Of course, Lord Megatron," Starscream said.

"Have Soundwave report to me when he finds out what they are up to," Megatron ordered.

"As you command," Starscream said with a bow.

~~~With Missy and Thor

"You are getting better, but you still cannot control it," Thor said.

"I don't know what else I'm supposed to do," Missy said. "I've done everything you've told me and still nothing."

"Think of it like flowing water. It must be smooth, not chaotic. Like the water is running over a glacier. It will go where it is directed by the glacier and nowhere else."

Missy and Thor looked up to see the mystery figure there again. They jumped out of the tree, circling Missy. She hummed, but it was neutral.

"What?" Missy asked.

"You must learn this, Missy Rainer. Optimus will need your help several weeks from now," the figure said.

"With what? How am I supposed to help him and become his guardian?" Missy inquired.

"When the time comes, you will know," the figure said, fading away.

"She confounds me," Missy muttered. "And did she call me fat? Glaciers are huge and fat and cold! I am not that."

Thor laughed, shaking his head.

"It is merely a metaphor. She is telling you to let the lightning be like the water over a glacier. In a sense, you are the glacier. You will direct the lightning where it is supposed to go rather than have it direct itself," the God said.

"Oh. That makes a lot more sense," Missy said. "Well, I can try."

Missy concentrated and closed her eyes. She thought of the lightning following where she wanted it to go and that it wasn't as chaotic. She moved her hands, aiming for a rock. She opened them and directed the lightning to the rock, exploding it.

Missy stared in disbelief at what she had done. She actually hit her target. She hit her intended target!

"I did it... I did it! Did you see that?" Missy beamed.

"Yes. Now keep it up. That is only the beginning. You still have a lot to control in a short amount of time. I pray that you are ready in time," said Thor.

Missy nodded, feeling confident in herself. She practiced some more. Sadly, she still lost control most of the time, but she was slowly improving. And she practiced for hours each day. She just hoped that she could do this. She had to protect Optimus Prime, no matter what. He was her hero.

'I'll keep you safe, Optimus. I promise,' Missy thought.
