Celeste's POV

Tomorrow is the 4th of July. A monumental day for the United States of America. Not just because it's Independence Day, but because it's also Steve's birthday. We had a talk about what he'd like to do to celebrate.

"I don't want anything big, alright?" He said, as we ate our breakfast together the day before his birthday.

"Okay, we don't have to do anything big. So what would you like to do?" I asked.

"Honestly, I'm happy just hanging out with you guys, and maybe doing something, just you and I, for dinner or something."

I'd had an idea... it wasn't anything big, and I think it'd be better to pull it off tonight instead of tomorrow, only because it'd be easier with less people preoccupied with the holiday.

"Well... I might have an idea for us tonight?"

"Yeah? What would that be?"

"I'd like to treat you to a night in the city. I thought we could do it tonight instead of tomorrow."

"That would probably be easier, less people and all."

"Exactly what I was thinking. We can still do something tomorrow, just us, but what I have planned does work better without the holiday. So, be ready to head into the city about 5 o'clock, okay?"

"What should I wear?"

"Well, I'm not particular fond of the idea of other people seeing you in the nude," he rolls his yes jokingly at this, "but nothing super fancy. Just be comfortable." I smile at him.

"Okay, sounds good to me." He said, returning the smile.

Once it reached 5 o'clock, I knocked on Steve's door. He opened it smiling.

"Hey." I smiled up at him.

"Hey." He leaned in, pecking my lips softly.

"Ready to go?"

"Sure am." He closes the door behind him, and we make our way to the garage. I drive us towards the city.

"We're going to Brooklyn?" He asked, turning toward me. I glance at him briefly as I continue to make my way through the traffic.

"Yeah, we are."

"Is that the surprise?"

"Only slightly."

I find a parking spot, and we each get out of the car. I move to the boot, unloading it.

"What's this?"

"We are going to have a picnic." I smile. "And we're also going to watch a film."

"Ohh, what film?"

"I'm going to leave that for the opening credits."

We made our way to Brooklyn Bridge Park, where there were plenty of people. I continued to speak with Steve, just trying to keep him occupied so he didn't search for the name of the film. If he found out, he never said anything.

"I've never been to an outdoor cinema." He said as he spread the picnic blanket out onto the grass. We had found a spot without too many people around yet, and far enough away from the screen so we wouldn't strain our necks.

"Neither have I actually, but they seem to have become quite a trend. The weather has also been so nice lately, so I thought it'd be good for us to enjoy it outside of training."

"I couldn't agree more." He kneels onto the blanket, taking the picnic basket I hand to him. He then holds his hand out so I can sit down. Luckily I'm wearing a tea length skirt, so it's not likely to show too much skin as I sit on the blanket.

"Some wine?" I offer, pulling a bottle and two plastic glasses out of the basket.

"Please." He takes the glasses, holding them for me as I pour us each some wine. I place the bottle back beside the basket, holding out the glass.

"Happy early Birthday, Steve." I smile at him.

He smiles back. "Thank you, Celeste." We touch glasses, each taking a sip.

I then turn back to the basket, pulling out some food. We set ourselves up, and begin to enjoy our picnic meal. Soon the film begins.

"The Wizard of Oz?!" He whisper yells to me. I nod at his disbelieving face. "I saw this in the pictures when it first came out." He chuckles.

"Really?"

"Yeah, it was very popular. I remember being blown away by it. It was also the first film I remember seeing that had black and white, then so much colour. It felt pretty magical for the time."

"I imagine it did. I know I've seen it, but it must have been years ago now."

"Well I'm glad you brought me here tonight." He whispers, holding my hand as the film begins.

"I hardly remember any of that!" I laugh as Steve and I begin to pack up our picnic stuff, the credits rolling in the large screen beside us. "But I really enjoyed it."

"Thank you for organising this, Celeste." I look up to see him smiling at me, albeit there being a tinge if sadness behind his eyes.

"The evening isn't over yet, Steve."

"It isn't?" He asked, eyebrows furrowed a bit as his smile remained.

"Nope!" I made a point of making a popping noise. "We still have a whole evening!"

"Well then," he had stood up moving the basket to the side onto the grass a he held his hand out, pulling me to my feet, "let's get this packed away, and you lead the way."

I helped him fold the blanket, and we followed the crowd out of the park to the car. After we put everything in the boot again, Steve moved to head back to the passenger seat.

"Nope, the car is staying here."

"Why?"

"Because we're taking the subway to our next destination."

"Are we okay to leave the car here...?"

"Don't worry about the car, Nat said she'll look after it."

"Alright then."

I grabbed his hand, and we made our way to the subway. After getting on the next train heading into the city, about thirty minutes later we finally made it to the next destination for the night. We walked out of the underground stop, me leading us around the busy streets on a Friday night. After our last turn, the streets seemed to be even more busy, and lit up almost like day time.

I stop us, Steve's hand still in mine as we look at Times Square in front of us.

"What are we doing here...?" Steve asks loud enough for me to hear, looking over at me.

"I know that the last time you were here, it was such a shocking experience for you. You told me that on our first date." He nods along, brows furrowed slightly. "And... I thought it might be nice if you could create a nicer memory here."

He smiled, catching on to what I meant. "Oh, and what sort of memory were you thinking of?"

"I don't mean to be presumptuous, but I'm here. You're here..." I grinned at him. He turned his body to me, looking me in my eyes.

"That is rather presumptuous..."

I gasp, acting offended. "You don't want to create a memory with me?" I ask, hand to my chest.

He just smiles.

I hear the pedestrian crossing alarm go off, next second he's pulling me along after him. We make our way to the centre of the square where you're able to stand off the road. There's plenty of people around, and lots of tourists getting their photo taken. He suddenly stops, turning to me once again.

We just stare into each other's eyes, both smiling like teenagers. I step closer to him, my hands finding his waist, his both cupping my face softly. We inch closer, faces tilting until we both feel each others soft lips on the others.

I feel as if time stands still, which is ironic considering the name of the square. The hustle and bustle all around us. But I just hear silence. But almost when it's too quiet, and there's a soft ringing in your ears. I soon begin to hear my heart beating.

What feels like a lifetime, but also one that's cut too short, we pull away from each other, both desperate for air.

He rests his forehead on mine and it takes me a moment to open my eyes. When I do, I see his staring straight back into my own. There's something in them. I recognise some of it as lust, but there's something more. I just don't know exactly what it is.

"I know I've said it a few times, but I can't say it enough. Thank you. This was perfect." He leans in and kisses me again, just not as long this time.

"I've got one more surprise."

"Oh geez, you're setting the standards high." He chuckled.

"Ha! You don't need to return the favour, Steve." I pull him along behind me, making our way through the crowd. We start walking away from Times Square, and the further away we get, the crowd begins to thin out. I feel myself feeling less on edge, and Steve's grip on my hand loosens slightly. We both clearly aren't the best with crowds.

A short walk leads us to a building with red accented awnings. I lead us through the front door, then straight to the elevators.

"What are we doing?" Steve asks, looking around a bit nervously.

"It's okay, Steve," I giggle, "I booked us a suite for the night."

"You did?"

"Well, technically Tony did. It was a bit late notice, but he pulled some strings."

The elevators stops at our floor, so I lead us to the suite. I open the door, and we walk through. Steve looks around in awe, as do I since I hadn't had the chance to this afternoon. He then makes his way out to the terrace. We can't see much of the city, just the buildings around us. But the lights give off a nice ambiance.

I sneak back into the room, where a bottle of champagne and strawberries await. I bring the tray out, with the two glasses.

"Champagne?" I ask, placing the tray in the table outside.

"Please." I pop the cork, careful not to spill any. I pour us each a glass, popping a strawberry in each. "What are the strawberries for?"

"Apparently it brings the flavour of the champagne out. I don't think I've ever tried it, but thought, why not?"

"Why not, indeed." He smiles. He raises his glass and I mirror his actions. "Again, thank you. Thank you for a lovely evening. One I'm sure I'll look back on fondly, for however long I have left."

"You're very welcome and I'm glad you've enjoyed it." We clink glasses, each taking a sip.

"Oh wow! That does change it, doesn't it?" He says, looking down at his glass.

"Yeah, I quite like it." I take another sip.

Steve leans in to peck me on the lips. He then moves around behind me, wrapping an arm around me holding me against his front, head leaning against mine.

"I really appreciated Times Square." He whispered in my ear. I felt chills move through my body.

"I thought it might be nice for you."

"Well you were right." He kisses my cheek. "Very much." He kisses my neck. "I'll remember," the spot between my neck and shoulder, "that moment," my shoulder, "forever."

I can't take it anymore. I turn my head, my free hand reaching around into his hair, pulling his lips down to my own. I moan into his mouth as he runs his tongue over my bottom lip, to which I open my mouth to his. Our tongues meet, brushing against each other.

I turn my body around to face his and to get better access I tilt my head. My hand is still in his hair, tightening my grip when his hand runs up my side. I push my body fully into his and he groans when my thigh rubs against his groin.

He pulls away gently, to which my face tries to follow his. "Let's bring the champagne inside."

"I think that's a good idea."

I reach for his glass bringing them inside as he collects the tray with the bottle and strawberries. He places it down on the side table next to the large king sized bed. He takes his glass that I offer to him, and we both keep our eyes on each other's before we finish our glasses. He takes my now empty glass, placing them both on the same side table. He turns back to me, and we stand looking at each other for a moment. I see desire flooding his gorgeous cerulean eyes, that somehow appear darker in this moment.

Suddenly we both jump at each there, lips clashing, as we both try to remove each other's clothes. Once we're both standing at the end of the bed naked, I pull him back to me in a kiss, turning his body to push him onto the bed. He bounces on the mattress a bit before he pushes himself further up the bed. I climb onto the bed, crawling my way up his muscular body until I'm straddling him holding onto his shoulders.

His hands cradle my face, kissing me again. I feel his right hand remove itself from my face, trailing down my body, leaving a burn in its wake. He trails it down my side, making me squirm gently from the tickling sensation, before it meets my hip, then moves to the front of my upper thigh moving between my legs. I feel his gentle touch on my dripping folds, and rock my hips creating more friction.

"You're so wet, and we've barely done anything." He says gently.

"It's all you, Steve." I moan.

Two of his long fingers push into me, pumping a few times before trailing my sex up to my clit. My body jolts from the touch to my sensitive bundle of nerves, grinding down hard into his hand.

I feel his cock grow harder against my arse, so I grind against it. "Keep grinding like that, baby." He moans. "Oh yes..." I pull him back into a kiss as he pushes his hips up into me.

I move up, hovering myself over his cock as he grabs a hold of it. My hand reaches down to cover his, as we both guide him into me. I sink myself down on his cock, feeling every inch of him enter me and fill me up. Once I have him completely inside me, we both moan from the sensation.

We haven't had sex since our first time just over a month ago, so I wait a moment getting used to his significant size. He leaves soft kisses on my neck, moving his hands behind my back, down to my backside.

"This okay?" He whispers.

"This is perfect." I move a hand to the hair at the back of his neck, running my fingers through it, and rock against him as we kiss.

I keep it slow for the moment, until Steve bucks up into me. He hits a spot deep inside me, making me moan loudly from the pleasure that shoots through my body, throwing my head back. I feel kisses on my neck.

"You're so gorgeous." He says against my skin, moving his lips down to my breasts. He sucks a nipple into his mouth, tongue flicking and teasing me.

"Yes, Steve!" I moan out loud as he moves his hand between us again, playing with my clit.

We move faster, rocking against one another in our bliss.

"I'm getting close." He says against my lips.

"Me too." I can't stop myself from squeezing tight around him, making it harder for Steve to move in me as I near my orgasm. His fingers move faster and in tighter circles against my clit, and I snap. "I'm cumming!"

He turns me quickly onto my back against the mattress, as he continues to work me through my high.

"Steve!" I continue to pulse around him.

"I'm there!" He groans as he kisses me.

We both moan into each other mouths, as he begins to slow his thrusts. I feel him twitch as he releases inside of me.

He hovers over me, as we both breathe heavily coming down from our highs, his face nuzzled into my neck. I reach a hand up and run it through his hair softly, enjoying the short strands through my fingers.

"Ah, shit." He groans.

"Geez, language..." I giggle. "What's wrong?"

"I forgot protection." He says lifting his head to look at me.

"Well, fuck..."

"That's kind of what we did..."

"It's okay."

"Really? What do you mean?" He asks looking confused. He rolls off me onto his side, resting on his elbow.

"I went to the doctor and got a prescription for the pill. Did a test too, and I'm clean."

"Oh, okay. Did they say anything about the serum? Erskine said everything is enhanced. I imagine he meant... everything."

"Hmm... I can book an appointment tomorrow. Maybe you should come along, just so we're all on the same page?"

"I'm happy to do that, if you're comfortable with me tagging along."

"I think it'll make it easier." I lean over, kissing his cheek. "Want to enjoy the shower?" I smirk at him.

"Already?" He grins.

"That's my line, Cap." I laugh, noticing him already getting hard again.

"Super Soldier, remember?" He says, standing up and following behind me as we make our way to the large bathroom.

After another wonderful round in the amazing bathroom, we were now lying in bed, snuggled up together under the sheets.

"Were you okay? After the film?"

"Yeah, why?"

"You just seemed a bit down." He remained silent. "Steve?" I looked up at him.

"Yeah, I just saw that with Bucky when it came out."

"Oh Steve..."

"Don't worry about it! I guess I just felt a bit nostalgic about it. Also a bit guilty I guess."

"Why guilty?"

"Well it was tough, my mother had passed away a few years earlier, and Bucky was all I had. We used to do pretty much everything together. He had actually organised another double date. But mine was as usual, not interested in me. But I guess I was down tonight because it reminded me of him. And I don't know where he is at the moment. If he's okay. HYDRA had him for so long, and I guess I just feel guilt for not being able to be there for him like he always was for me."

"I'm sorry, Steve. I know there isn't much I can say that'll make it better."

"And I don't expect you to. You recognised I was down, and still showed me a good time. That's all you can do."

We sit in silence for a while, enjoying each other's presence before he speaks up again.

"So what do you think about taking that trip to DC?" He asked.

"Like, if I still want to go or when?" I ask, turning my body over to lie on his. I cross my arms and rest my chin on them as I look up at him.

"Well, more like when would you want to go? I was thinking about later this month?"

"Yeah, it'll be nice to get away. How long do you want to go for?"

"Maybe the weekend? I was thinking go up early, have a long weekend. Leave Wednesday night or Thursday morning and come back Sunday."

"Yeah?" I smile, thinking having at least four full days with Steve would be amazing. He nods. "I think that'd be great. Do you think everyone else will be fine with that?"

"Yeah, if we let them know when we get back to the compound, that's plenty of warning for some leave."

"What if a mission comes up?"

"Nat can lead the team, and Rhodey and Sam have more than enough experience."

"You won't feel weird about not going?"

"I mean I guess it'd feel a bit strange, not tagging along. But the person I've been seeing suggested I take the opportunity to just relax. Even Sam suggested it too."

"I'll admit, it would be nice to get away with just you and I."

He leans down and gives me a peck. "Exactly what I was thinking."

"Anything you'd like to do in DC?"

"Well we can go to the exhibit like you wanted to. See some other museums if you're interested. And, uh..."

"What else?" I prompt him gently.

"I haven't visited Peggy in a while. I usually try to go up every month or so and visit her."

"Why do you seem so nervous about it?"

"Well I just didn't know how you might feel about it..."

"Because you and Peggy have history?"

"Well, yeah."

"I can't just write your previous relationships off, Steve. What you've told me about her, she was a big part of your life for a few years. And someone more than just a colleague. But I understand why you'd want to see her. To be honest, I think I'd actually really love the opportunity to meet her. Other than someone special in your life, she was a woman who played a significant role in the war, the SSR and S.H.I.E.L.D. It would be an honour to meet her."

"Are you sure? I don't want you to feel uncomfortable."

"I promise, Steve. If I'm going to feel uncomfortable, it won't be because of your relationship."

"What do you mean?" He frowns. "Oh, you mean because of HYDRA?"

"Well, yeah."

"Celeste, I swear she won't think poorly of you. We don't even have to say anything about your past if you don't want to."

"Maybe not our first meeting."

"That's okay. I'd just really like you to meet. I think you'll both like each other." He smiles.

"Well, if you think so, I'd really like to as well."

"Well that settles it then. Let's get some rest, okay? We can talk more about what we'd like to see in DC tomorrow."

"Goodnight, handsome." I lean in to kiss him goodnight.

"Goodnight, my dear."
