The crunching continued for Charlie and Zari. Whatever it was, it was coming towards them and fast. Charlie went first, trying to show she was a bit more brave than Zari thought she was. Zari let her do this. She didn't exactly want to be on the wrong side of whatever was coming. If they stayed together though they should be alright. Right?

"Get behind me. Unless you want to face this yourself." Charlie hissed to Zari who was already thinking that.

"Thanks for pointing that out!" Zari hissed back.

A roar came from where the crunching came from. They weren't in Kansas anymore.

"Well Miss brave pants, what do we do against that?" Zari grabbed Charlie's shoulders.

"Well there are two options. Stand here and fight." Charlie shrugged.

"Or?"

"RUN!" Charlie shouted running back towards the crashed Waverider.

Zari didn't have to be told twice. She ran as fast as her legs could carry her back to the Waverider. True in this forest all of the trees looked the same. How could she know they were going the right way?

"Charlie?" Zari shouted.

"What?"

"I think we can stop."

"Don't stop! We're being chased by a dinosaur!"

Zari stopped however and noticed Charlie was quite quick doing the same.

"Must have lost interest. Maybe we should get some rest. It's not like we can leave is it?" Zari thought back to how damaged the Waverider might be.

"Alright just for a bit though." Charlie agreed finally.

Zari sat down on a nearby tree stump. Charlie remained standing just in case they needed to run again. She wasn't taking any chances!

"I wonder how the others are doing. Do you think they're doing any better than us?" Zari asked, shuddering from the cold.

"At least they're not facing dinosaurs!" Charlie smirked.

"We have no idea where they are and they have no idea where we are." Zari reminded her companion.

"That really helps right now Zari!"

Zari went quiet after Charlie said this. Charlie had been in a mood since they started this mission and she didn't seem to be getting any better. If only she would tell Zari what was really going on. Zari knew however, this didn't look like it was going to happen.

Ava and Gary kept their heads down. They didn't want to be accused of murder. Being new in town they were probably going to be the first ones to blame. They just hoped Sherlock and Watson didn't turn on them. Sherlock grabbed his coat and followed the man that had come in out of the door. Watson sighed as he shook his head.

"Holmes, wait!" Watson shouted.

"Come on Watson. The game is afoot." A slight shout could be heard.

"Want to come along?" Watson asked them hopefully.

Gary looked over to Ava for an answer. Whatever answer he gave was probably going to be wrong.

"We'll stay here. Maybe interview some of the locals." Ava nodded.

"Alright. We'll be back soon, it's probably nothing." Watson bowed the tip of his hat and left.

Gary waved goodbye and then turned his stare to Ava. Most of the pub had left to go and see Sherlock Holmes in action so they had it to themselves.

"A murder?! Seriously?!" Gary moaned.

"It might not be us! It's probably just a coincidence." Ava tried to look on the bright side.

"And who are they going to turn to? The newest people always get blamed and you know it." Gary sounded like he was going to cry.

"It's not that bad!"

"You think Sherlock will trust us?"

"Watson might. There are more important things for us to worry about right now." Ava changed the subject.

"Getting home being one of them?"

"Yes, exactly. We have no idea where the others are." Ava sighed.

Gary leaned back in his seat. Ava was right, the other legends had been spread over history and they had no idea where they were. Ava got something out of her pocket. She then put it on the table for Gary to also look at. It was a piece of tech from the Waverider Sara had given her on the last mission.

"A communicator?" Gary smiled.

"Yeah but I doubt it will work. It probably smashed to pieces." Ava rubbed the back of her neck.

"Let me have a look."

"Just be careful with it. It might be our only way of getting back."

Gary nodded as he took the communicator off of the table. Ava kept a look out just in case any of the bar people came back, especially Sherlock or Watson. Gary then threw it down on the table. It obviously didn't work. Ava stared at it as the door re-opened with Watson on the other side out of breath.

"Something wrong Mr Watson?" Gary asked, kicking Ava. She quickly put the communicator away.

"We might need your help." Watson panted.

"Okay. Show us the body." Ava got up first.

Gary was a little less happy to see a body, especially one that had been murdered but also didn't want to be left alone. They both followed Watson out into the night to find wherever Sherlock had gone to.

"You can't be serious!" Shakespeare smirked when Mick said he wanted to see the king.

"Why not? You get along with him." Mick fought back.

"Well yes I do but we can't just stride in there and demand to see him."

Mick shrugged as he carried on regardless. Shakespeare might not want to see the king but he certainly did. Shakespeare heard the shouting from within the bar one more time and then admitted defeat.

"What's your plan?" Shakespeare muttered.

"We just find the guards. I mean they're looking for you so they must want you." Mick told.

"Right, simple enough."

Mick liked the way Shakespeare thought. It wouldn't be too hard to find two guards in a Tudor street. I mean not many people wore red back then. They also couldn't have gotten too far since they left the pub. Mick picked a torch from the pub wall to help them search.

They soon saw red in the distance. Mick shoved Shakespeare forward so that they could see him. One of them gave a creepy smile when he saw them.

"William Shakespeare." He cackled, as Shakespeare stood proud and tall.

"What do you want?" Shakespeare asked back.

"The king wants to see you. I'm afraid this time it's not a social visit." The guard clicked his fingers and arms grabbed Mick's shoulders.

Before Shakespeare could respond with a quick comment, two guards grabbed him as well. Not exactly how the plan was supposed to go but it would do, Mick thought.

People swarmed the streets as Constantine made his way carefully out of the saloon with Hex in tow. Some of them were covered in mud and others a bit of blood. None of them looked too badly injured however which was good for now. Hex left Constantine to help where he could. Constantine wasn't exactly used to this sort of thing but working with legends for the past few months had come in handy. Looking after Gary would definitely help.

"Anyone need any help?" Constantine called to the crowd.

They all just stared at him however and backed away. Maybe it was his accent. A British accent probably wasn't favoured around here right now.

"Excuse me." A little voice said and he felt someone tugging at his trouser leg.

Constantine looked down. A little girl covered in mud was standing there. This might be something Constantine could deal with. Kids were quite easy. Well they were when they went to help at a summer camp.

"Hey little one." Constantine said as he kneeled down to her.

"I'm lost. I can't find my mum." She said with a frown.

"Alright. Let's see if we can find her shall we?" Constantine asked, looking around.

The little girl nodded as Constantine got to his feet again. It was going to be a struggle but he was sure he could do it. Before he could search too far however, Sara came running over. She didn't look too happy about Constantine being up and about.

"What are you doing?!" Sara moaned.

"I'm helping this one find her mum. She's lost." Constantine nodded at the girl by his side.

"I'll do that. You go back to bed." Sara tried.

"No can do love. I'm getting bored in there and there's nothing you can do about it." Constantine strode past her.

"Well at least let me help you. I just came down for some tools and then headed back up there." Sara made a bargain.

"Fine but be quick about it. We haven't got much time." Constantine nodded as he headed towards the mountains.

It seemed to be getting colder and colder the further Ava, Gary and Watson went into the night. Sherlock must have run pretty fast to get there. They turned around the final corner and saw a crowd of police surrounding Sherlock and a body.

"Stay here. Sherlock doesn't like to be interrupted." Watson warned.

"Don't worry we will." Gary said, gagging.

"What's the matter with you?" Ava whispered.

"I don't like seeing bodies or anything like that." Gary winned.

"Get used to it."

Ava left Gary to think this over as she walked to join Watson. Sherlock might not like people in his space, but she had to find out what was going on. Sherlock was hunched over the body, obviously trying to work everything out. The police probably had a million people who could do that but just stood back and let him look at the body.

"Who's this?" One of the police asked Watson with a broad London accent.

"They were lost at Badbury. Brought them along to keep them out of the pub." Watson told with his hands on his hips.

"Inspector Lestrade." The officer said, giving his hand out to Ava.

"Ava. That's Gary." Ava pointed back to Gary who was still trying not to be sick.

"Nice to meet you."

"So Holmes, what's happened?" Watson said, turning the attention back to Sherlock and the body.

Sherlock stayed quiet. He was still staring at the body but motioned towards Ava to kneel down next to him. Watson shrugged and let her do it. Ava leaned down next to Sherlock to see what he wanted.

"What do you think?" Sherlock whispered to Ava.

"Mr Holmes?" Ava asked intrigued, Sherlock Holmes never wanted anyone's opinion normally.

"Of the body. You know the circumstances, cause of death?" Sherlock motioned.

Ava looked up at Watson and Lestrade peering over them. Watson could see what she meant by that and took Lestrade to one side.

"Don't you trust them?" Sherlock smirked.

"It's not that." Ava looked over the body.

"So…"

Ava looked over the body. There weren't any injuries that stood out but there must be something. Would he have been able to walk out here if the injury was that bad? Ava smiled to herself. Never in her wildest dreams did she think she was going to solve a case with Sherlock Holmes!

"Seems like a head injury." Sherlock finally said when Ava looked a bit confused.

"Do you think it was out here?"

"Doesn't look like it. Is your friend feeling alright?" Sherlock pointed over to Gary who was looking a bit peaky.

"He's fine." Ava nodded.

As she said that Gary fainted. Sherlock and Ava winced as he fell into Watson's arms. Lucky Watson was a doctor!

"We'd better be getting back. I've got my notes and we can discuss them." Sherlock stood up and motioned to the officers to take the body away.

The officers nodded and took the body. Sherlock smiled at Ava and patted her on the back.

"You coming?" Sherlock said to Ava.

"Just a minute." Ava said, looking down at the ground.

Ava knelt down again. Sherlock waved to Watson and Lestrade as they walked off. Ava picked a piece of metal. She quickly put it in her pocket out of sight of Sherlock. A piece of metal from the Waverider.
