Chapter 2 - "TEAM 7"

13 years after the 9 Tails attack

It was just another day at the academy. Naruto always came early and sat on the corner seat near the window. After 10 minutes a black-haired boy entered the class, he was wearing a navy blue, short-sleeved shirt with a high collar, white shorts and white arm warmers. His name was Sasuke Uchiha, a member of the Uchiha clan. He was the best student in the academy after Naruto. He was Naruto's only friend but he was the opposite of Naruto.

He came and sat next to Naruto and they started talking to each other while the class started to fill in. After some time two girls rushed inside the class. The Pink haired girl said "I won Ino-Pig. Now I will get to sit next to Sasuke."

"You Cheated, you billboard" the other blonde girl said.

Then the Pink haired kunoichi sat next to Sasuke while glaring at Naruto. She thought that he was getting between her and Sasuke. But the two friends ignored her and resumed their talk.

After some time, their teacher came inside the class. He announced "Tomorrow is you test and if you pass the test, you will become an actual Ninja and will get the rank of Genin. You will be assigned to a three men squad and will train under your Jonin Sensei."

In the Shinobi world the ninjas are mainly divided into 3 different ranks The Genins, the lowest rank and those students who pass the academy test are given this rank. These are usually assigned D and rarely C rank missions. The next rank is Chunnin, those genins who pass the chunnin exams get the rank of chunnins. Only 15 out of 50 ninjas get the rank of chunnins. They are usually given C, and B rank missions. The Highest rank is jonin. Those who pass the jonin exams get the rank of Jonin. Only 1 in 50 ninjas get the rank of a Jonin. They are given A rank missions, but some jonins are assigned to a team of 3 genins to train them. There is also a rank of ANBU Black Ops, these ninjas are handpicked by the hokage. These are the most exceptional shinobi of the village who cover their face with a mask to hide their identity. They are highly skilled ninjas who work directly under the hokage. They are given the S rank missions.

Next day

Everyone passed the test and was waiting to be assigned to a team. Naruto passed the exam as the Rookie of the year. Their teacher came and started reading the members of different teams from a paper.

Iruka said "And Team 7 is Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha…" there was a smile on the face of Naruto.

"And Sakura Haruno", Iruka completed.

The smile went off as soon as he heard the name. But Sakura jumped with joy.

Iruka said "Now, your jonin leaders you join you soon enough". He went out from the class and different jonin came and took their team. The only team left in the class was team 7. Three hours had passed and no one came. Naruto had already made 100 shadow clones and sent them to train because training was the only hobby of Naruto. His real self was still in the class sitting in the corner with Sasuke. But both Sasuke and Sakura were angry at their sensei.

15 minutes later the door opened and a tall guy with silver hair and face hidden with mask entered the class. Naruto called off the shadow clones and Sakura greeted their sensei but her body language was saying the different thing. The white-haired guy said "I am your new sensei, Kakashi Hatake. Meet me on the roof in 2 minutes". He then disappeared in thin air. And Naruto did the same. Sasuke was just behind Naruto. They all assembled on the roof with Sakura coming in the last.

So, this is Minato Sensei's son, Naruto. Look what you have done to your son, sensei, Kakashi thought

"Now that you all are here, we should introduce ourselves. Your Name, what you like, what you dislike, what are your hobbies, and what are your dreams. Let's start with me. My name is Kakashi Hatake, I like and dislike a lot of things, my hobby, its none of your business, and I don't have any dream.", Kakashi said. "And now it's your turn" he pointed at Naruto

"How you can't expect us to tell you personal information about us if you're not willing to share anything about you with us in return?" Naruto asked Kakashi

Kakashi sighed "Okay, let's start over again. My name is Kakashi Hatake. I like books, dogs and training, I dislike people who abandon their comrades. And my dream...well, I'm not entirely sure, guess it would be to make up for all the mistakes I made in the past and all the people I failed. There, are you happy now?"

"What mistakes?" Sakura asked, leaning forward.

"What people you failed?" Naruto asked, interested as well.

"Sorry, that's all you're going to get from me right now, so don't push your luck. Well Naruto, why don't you introduce yourself?"

"My name is Naruto Uzumaki, I like eating ramen, training and spending time with the old man (referring to 3rd hokage) and Sasuke, I dislike people who are late (mocking Kakashi), My hobby is training. My dream is to become the Hokage" Naruto said with a big smile on his face.

'I also had a friend who shared the same dream as yours, Naruto.' Kakashi thought before giving a signal to Sakura to speak

"My name is Sakura Haruno. I like…" Sakura looked at Sasuke and blushed, "I don't like people like Naruto" she yelled. "My Hobbies are" she again looked at Sasuke and blushed, her face was crimson red, "My Dream is…" this time she almost passed out. Kakashi sighed and asked Sasuke to speak

"My name is Sasuke Uchiha, I like Rice balls and training with Naruto and Big Brother Itachi, and I don't dislike anything in particular, I don't have any hobbies and my dream is to become a great Ninja like Big Brother" Sasuke said.

"Alright, now that we know enough about each other, meet me tomorrow in the field at 5 'o clock in morning. And don't eat the breakfast as I don't want you to puke during tomorrow's test" Kakashi said.

"Test?" Sakura asked surprisingly.

"Yes, you heard me right, tomorrow is your test and if you don't pass, you will be sent back to the academy." Kakashi said.

Both Sasuke and Sakura were shocked from what Kakashi said but Naruto was just sitting there calmly as he already knew about Kakashi and his famous test from Hiruzen.

When Kakashi went off Naruto told Sasuke "Hey Sasuke, I want you do something in order for us to pass. Tomorrow Kakashi sensei will come with two bells. He will ask us to take the bells from him, but he will not be testing skills instead he will test our ability to work together as a team..." Naruto then discussed the plan with Sasuke.

Sakura was watching them talking from a distance when Sasuke came towards her. Naruto must have said something bad to him about me.

Sasuke came to Sakura and said "Hey, I want to do something"

"What do I have to do?" Sakura asked in a shy voice. Sasuke then filled her on the plan about tomorrow's test.

Yes, you read it right, in this story Itachi lives in the village. So Sasuke will not be the arrogant brat anymore. And also, Naruto is a prodigy in this story, and has graduated as the Rookie of the Year. And don't ask me how the two best students of the Academy ended up in the same team.
