Chapter 5

The Last goodbye

Saying goodbye to someone you love is one of the hardest things to do. Leaving behind family and friends and never looking back, that's hard too but what was left? There was nothing to look back to but scorched earth, the blaze burned everyone in its path and it had all been because of him. Memories of lying in bad together laughing, caressing faces and running fingers through each others hair... Missing her scent where it was supposed to be, empty and replaced with pain on a never ending loop, that hurt like he'll, nothing could numb that. Well, she could, she always would... She always knew something was wrong and she tried to fix things, she always tried to fix things... It was annoying but he secretly enjoyed her need to jump in, sometimes she would just hold him and say " Mr. Grumpy pants, just say you wanna cuddle." That always made him laugh, he would squeeze her hand and then turn around to kiss her. " get in bed Mr. Grumpy pants" (she says lifting the sheet and he bit his lip as he stared at her and then he got in bed. "Waiting on you ( he says still staring at her and she smirks and gets in bed with him, puts his arm around hers and she falls asleep.) That was over , It was time for him to give up on that, on them and ...it was time for him to say goodbye.

He gets up from his bed in the hotel and walks to a bar to drown his sorrows, yes that old cliche but it was a necessary memes to an end. He opens the bar door, he looks around to examine his options and then he finds a seat at the bar. He gets the attention of the bartender and orders some alcohol. A girl comes to him and he turns around to turn on the charm. He sees its sally and automatically drops his persona and flashes a real smile, he says hey and she sits down next to him.

Sally: thought I might find you here ( she smiles reassuringly)

Derek: what do you want Sals?

Sally: drowning your sorrows in alcohol won't erase your problems.

Derek: I know that.

Sally: well, at least you know it this time.

Derek: I just want to forget.

Sally: there are other way to forget.

Derek: is that an offer.

Sally: maybe, if that's what you want.

Derek: that's exactly what I want ( he leans closer to her and his her lips, she smiles into each kiss.)

Sally: lets go ( she smiles)

Derek: after I finish my drink.

Sally: ( smiles at him and places a hand on his thigh and raises it higher and higher until she reaches his dick.)

Derek: ( smiles) I'm almost finished, give me a minute.

She scoffs

He looks a at her and smiles

Derek: 5...4...3...2...1...Done!

Sally: ( shakes her head) you never change.

Derek: that's right! Classic Derek is alive and well. Lets go! ( he slaps the bar table and spins around in her direction) lets go gorgeous.

Sally: yeah, lets go.

They walk back to his hotel, they spent the entire time smiling and eying each other.

Sally : your a terrible liar but I will pay along because I really enjoy the lies.

Derek: I don't need to lie, I go after what I want and I indulge in ever second of it until I get bored...then I move on to the next indulgence.

Sally: you can keep lying to me all you want but I'm not buying it.

Derek: I'm not selling anything ( he smirks)

Sally: Casey and I talked... And even though she may not remember anything, she's still the same Casey.

Derek: I don't care... ( he looks worried, he turns to face her and ask) you didn't tell her about...

Sally: ( she teases him, forcing him to continue what he was going to say. He just looks at her waiting for her to get it, after a while she gives in) no, I didn't tell her.

He lets out a breathe that he didn't know he was holding

Sally:(smiles sympathetically) you need to cut yourself some slack, don't you think that you've tortured yourself enough?

Derek:(whispers) not even a little...( sighs)

Sally: when you guys were younger, you and Casey fought all the time but you never went too far and If you ever did anything that hurt Casey feelings, you would always make it up to her in the end. (Whispers) no one actually believes it was you.

Derek: yes they do, even if its just a small crowd of people... I can't believe that they think so little of me. None of that matters now because I'm done! ( he whisper)

Sally: no, no, no! You can't just give up! I am a hardcore Dasey shipper.

Derek (looks confused): you put Daisies on ships?

Sally: no! You and Casey ( she smiles). And a sasey shipper( she whispers to a point that Derek can't hear and she smirks after she says it.) I'm apart of the fan club, two actually... Super secret fan club, don't worry.

Derek: what's the other fan club? Whose in it?

Sally: Danielle W, Emilia, Isa G, Haydee, MS. Lyra G.W and so many more.

Derek: how are so many people in this fan club, I thought Casey and I were being discrete.

Sally: ( she gives him a look) you may have thought that you were being discrete but you weren't. The attempts of trying to make it seem like you guys were being friendly to one another because you had to for you younger siblings, your family and then at college you wanted to get along because you felt like you had to for the sake of ... Maturity, being productive and out of kindness for others...I don't know why but what I do know is that you guys weren't fooling anyone.

Derek: I suppose your right, I mean Casey's grandma came by, caught us in the middle of a date but we didn't call it that at the time because... We weren't yet but I digress. Maybe it wasn't such a secret, ( smiles) I mean when Noel threatened to out us, Case didn't even flinch. She had that look in her eyes, you know the one... And she had this presence about her when she stood up to Noel. " were over Noel! Its time to move on! Stop stalking me! Stop judging me! I don't care what you think or say about me! Its none of your business who I sleep with, who I love and its sure as he'll none of your business what I do anymore! Got it!" Then she pushed him out of the door and slammed the door ( Derek smiles at the memory and then his smile fades.) But that's over now. Its time to say goodbye now, for good.

Sally: for good, what does that mean? ( she says confused)

Derek: like I said, it doesn't matter anymore...its over, were over. (He leans in and kisses her and she kisses him back. They gravitate towards the bed, she lays on the bed and smiles at him, he hovers over her and then he tilts his head and leans in to kiss her. He slowly unbuttons her shirt and trails kisses down her neck, she arches her back and neck and moans out in pleasure. She rips his shirt open and he laughs.) You never were the patient kind, were you.

She shakes her head no and unbuttons his pants, she loosens his belt from the hooks, she loosens his button and zipper, she pulls his belt down slowly as she looks at him with a sultry look.

Sally: what are you waiting for ( she smiles biting her bottom lip).

Derek: I'm enjoying every second of this, so I'm gonna take it nice and slow. I wanna take in every glance, every kiss ,( he kisses her) (he removes his boxers and slowly slides himself inside her and she moans loudly. She wraps her legs around his waist and her arms around his neck edging him to pick up the speed and he obliges to a speed of her liking. She cries out in pleasure and he finally does as well. Several minutes later, he finally releases himself and they both sigh and lay back against the bed satisfied.)

Sally: wow. Somehow you managed to be even better then last time

Derek: I aim to please.

Sally: always.

Derek: and I decided to go with you.

Sally: what? Really! ( she smiles)

Derek: yes, really ( he smiles) just think, we could be doing this everyday.

Sally: I like the sound of that, (she places a hand on his chest and smiles, he places a hand over hers and smiles down at her.)

Derek: I just need to give her something first and say goodbye.

The next day

Casey's hospital room

Derek slips in stares at casey with guilt in his eyes, he places the bracelet on the table on the side of her and attempts to walk away. Casey eyes flutter open and she sees Derek there, she pushes back against her bed confused and scared.

Casey: what are you doing here? ( she says with disgust)

Derek: don't worry I was just leaving.

Casey: what did you do! Are you trying to pull another prank on me?!

Derek: no, no more pranks I'm done, done with everything. I just came here to give you the bracelet that fell and the pool and to say goodbye ( he says sadly).

Casey: goodbye? ( she says with a bit of sadness)

Derek: yeah, I'm done in this town now...time for me to hit the next ( he says nonchalant).

Casey: well, I guess this is goodbye Derek.

Derek: goodbye Case ( his voice cracks and he clenched his jaw to stop himself from crying.)

Then he walks out of the door without looking back and Casey Just stares at the door sad but she doesn't know why.

Casey: goodbye ( she whispers in an empty room and then lays back in bed and closes her eyes.
