Suppressed Feelings and Honesty

Nora just stares at Casey

Casey (sees how upset and shocked Nora is about her sudden outburst) Sor-rey (she flashes a forced smile) I have just been trying really hard to remember, its fine. (She looks down to see Simon.) I have another brother?

Nora: "yes and he loves his auntie Casey"

Casey: (looks at them questioning) "you want me to baby sit him too, don't you"?

Nora: "its been so long! We need a date night"

George: "or week! Maybe too".

Casey: "I don't mind"

George: "I'll get the stuff"

Nora: "are you sure"?

Casey:"yes"!

George: "she's sure"( they drop the bags and leave)

Casey: "so I booked us a resort to go to, something for the entire family to enjoy".

All the kids celebrate happily

They get the bags from the floor

Marti: "so where to spacey Casey"

Casey smile fades as the echo of space Casey rings in her head. " why was that familiar to her? She shook her head and pulled out her phone for a car, they waited until the car came, they got in and were driven to the resort.)

Lizzie: ( smiles) "we've missed you so much Casey".

Edwin: "shame to admit it and I will doubt it if you told anyone but, I missed you too".

She laughs and pulls him in for a hug

Edwin: "eww"

Lizzie: "don't even try to pretend Edwin, you were practically in tears saying how much you miss Casey".

Casey: "awww you did"?

Edwin: "I have no idea what she's talking about".

Lizzie gives Edwin a stern look.

Edwin (sighs): "fine". "I was worried, can we not make a big deal about it".

Casey: "true" ( she smirks) "but enough talking, lets have fun"!

Marti: "imposter what have you've done to Casey"?

Casey: "what"?! "I don't like to have fun"? ( she looks around at everyone)

Edwin: "no"! "Just the opposite, your a real stick in the mud".

Lizzie: "Edwin"!

Edwin: "what its true"

Marti: "your a control freak, you always make list, graphs and you always tell people what to do and how other people's plans are stupid and why your plan is better".

Lizzie: "guys"!

Edwin: "what?! She has to know the truth".

Casey: "Edwin's right, I should know these things if I want my memory back. I have to admit though, that person you guys describe sounds like a real awful person...I don't like her".

Lizzie: "you might have been controlling, rash at times, A rule following, school loving, feminist with traditional values but you are also kind, caring and smart".

Casey: "who sucks the fun out of everything like a mosquito! Time to change all of that, you ready"?!

Lizzie: "you don't suck the fun out of everything".

Edwin: "she said to be honest Lizzie"

Marti: "we have fun, as long as you don't plan it".

Edwin laughs

Lizzie:" Edwin! Marti"!

Marti: "I was just being honest like Casey wanted"

Lizzie: "I know but Casey just got out of the hospital and she's been through a lot because of your brother"!

Silence fills the car and minutes pass by before anyone says anything.

Casey: "guys, you don't need to treat me like I'm fragile glass, I'm not gonna break".

Marti: "you did fall and hit your head because of Derek".

Casey: "and I'm still here"

Lizzie: "that's because you've been to sleep for months casey"

Casey: "I know".

Lizzie : "it wasn't just sleeping, wardrobe changes, baths, clipping your nails and feet, brushing your hair, reading to you and praying that you wake up. It wasn't just huge fights between the McDonald and venturi family, it was surgery! It was nearly losing you...it was watching you flat line and everyone thinking they lost you. It was everyone crying, it was security removing Derek from your hospital room because he wouldn't leave your hospital bed. It was mom slapping Derek and telling him to never in that hospital again, right before they said after hours of trying to stabilize you, that you were finally stabilized. That we couldn't see you for months because you were too delicate. When we finally did...( Lizzie starts crying.) You looked so weak and tired, I made sure to be very delicate with you everyday until you woke up".

Casey (looks like she's on the brink of tears): "I didn't know that! I didn't know it was that serious"!

Edwin: "of course not, we weren't supposed to be to say anything. We were supposed to pretend like it was business as usual, which is why I made the jokes and Why I was acting like fun, funny, very handsome, intelligent "

Lizzie: ( wipes a tear Edwin) "Edwin"!

Edwin: "what I'm trying to say is that, I acted like nothing was wrong, so you wouldn't know anything was wrong. That hug you gave me practically confirmed it"( he glares at Lizzie)

Lizzie: "I was tired of pretending"!

Casey: "and you shouldn't have to pretend, you should tell the truth and be yourself. You shouldn't have to walk around egg shells around me, I'm out of the hospital and the doctor wouldn't let me out of the hospital it I wasn't fully healed, right".

( casey just states at Lizzie and the rest of the kids, unable to begin to understand what her family has been through while she slept . there aren't enough sor-reys she can dish out to make up for behavior. No way she can pay them back for what they have done for her while she slept the months away. At first she was just trying to catch up with them because she misses them but, it was obvious that she needed to do so Mich more. No! Casey! When you try to plan everything, you just end too much and ruin everything. Its that what Marti was saying.)

Casey:" I'm sorry. My behavior when I woke up was unacceptable, I was really mean and demanding, insensitive and"

Edwin: "Casey! Relax sis, don't over think it. We realize that might be hard for you"

The car stops, they thank the driver and she drives off. They look up at the hotel and its the Wyndham Hotel.

All of the kids oooh and ah at the lovely establishment

Casey: "I'm glad you like it! I booked it for two weeks".( she grins)

Lizzie: "what happened to not going overboard case"?

Edwin: "but this time it has worked in our favor, we should be thanking Casey not making her feel bad".

Lizzie: "I'm not trying to make her feel bad, i'm just saying...that wasn't s guilt trip back there".

Casey: "I know! I told you we were gonna have a girls night and we still are, but I wanna make up for lost time with the family. I spent days looking up places to go, hang out and just places to have fun" ( smiles).

Edwin: "of course she did".

Casey: "I had to"

Lizzie:"you don't have to try so hard Casey, just hanging out with you is enough. We didn't have to leave your dorm, we could've hung out and made plans around your school".

Casey: "no! My dorm is not my idea of a vacation. I wanted you guys relaxed and I want you guys to have fun"

Edwin: "she does have a point"

Lizzie: (sighs) "I know. I just don't want you to feel like you have to do this. Especially with all the research and planning"

Edwin: "which is a Casey thing to do"

Lizzie: "right"

Edwin: "so what's the problem"?

Lizzie: "I don't want you to become overwhelmed and"...

Casey: (sighs) "I did all of the research because I forgot about all of the places to go around here and, I wanted to have a fun 2 weeks with you guys so I planned it out...because I don't remember".

Lizzie: "oh. I'm sor-rey I didn't mean to makes big deal about it".

Casey: "please stop apologizing and feeling sor-rey for me and just relax...if you wanna do me a favor, have fun...please".

Marti: "enough talking, lets go inside already"!

Casey: "Mark's right, lets go"!

They all follow Casey

Casey: "I booked the ADA family 2 bedroom suite non- smoking".

Edwin: "I didn't understand any of that, all I know is that its a nice hotel".

They all walk in and indulge in the hotel more. Even lizzie who has been there before with Casey plenty of times, she smiles because in Casey's subconscious she remembers their moments together for their girl weekend.

Casey phone dings just as she checks in, she ignores it because she has to focus on checking in, she checks in and heads to their room. The kids make themselves comfortable and casey sets the baby down ( how he managed to sleep that whole time amazed her.) And finally sat on the bed and exhaled sharply. Casey remembered to check her phone.

Noel: you left the hospital? That's great! But why didn't you call?

She text back

Casey: Sor-rey, A lot has happened.

Noel: you still could have called I was worried, no excuses.

Casey: your right, sorry

Noel: when can I see you?

Casey: now is not a great time, I'm spending the weekend with my family.

Noel: I miss you too.

Casey:we can still talk.

Noel: but I wanna see you.

Casey: they been through a lot and its been a while since we've had alone time together.

Noel: its been a long time for me too.

Casey: I will make it up to you, I promise.

Noel: fine! Your right, I'm sor-rey. I just really miss you, its been so long.

Casey: I know.

Noel: good night beautiful.

Casey: goodnight Noel.

Lizzie (looks over): "who are you texting"?

Casey: "Noel" ( she smiles)

Lizzie: "oh. What are you guys talking about"?

Casey: "he misses his girlfriend but I told him that I wanted alone time with my family".

Lizzie: "Noel is cool but things got weird after the break up, he turned to a completely different person. I thought when you called me crying about the break up saying his such a great guy but things didn't work out because you didn't love him and you wished you did because he was a great guy and he deserved it. You called me one day and we were having a casual conversation, when all of a sudden he was pounding on the door and yelling. You tried to make it seem like nothing but I could hear it in your voice of how scared you were. When I asked you, you said you didn't want to talk about it and Then I heard Derek yelling at him and then you hung up".
