The Nanny Chapter 2
Kelly gives Eddie a huge smile. "You made those two young ladies very happy."
He places his bag over his shoulder. "Love my fans; thanks to them, I do what I love."
He walks out. Loren's home, nothing can wipe the smile off her face. "What a day, mom isn't going to believe me." She stops the car and turns towards Mel. "We aren't dreaming are we?"
Mel exits the car. "We met Eddie Duran, we get to see him in concert on Saturday in the front row!"
"The best part, I get to drop my job at the coffee shop, I'll make enough to cover my expenses."
"You realize it's a set of twins you'll be watching?"
Loren rolls her eyes. "I know, I love kids, and they love me."
"I'm sure you're going to be great." Mel assures her.
Loren opens the door. "It's too early, mom's still at work, let's work on our paper, I'm going to be busy, I have to prioritize."
"You're boring Lo."
"Of course not, this is real life, I have to work and go to school."
Mel gets her bag. "I get it; I have to pick out what to wear for Eddie's concert."
Mel leaves, Loren starts her essay for school, Eddie's music is playing in the background, she sings along with him.
Nora walks in, she loves to hearing her daughter sing, she stops at Loren's room. "I'm home."
Loren lowers the volume of her iPod, she looks at her mom. "Hi."
"I love to hear you sing."
"That's because you're my mom."
Nora hugs her from behind. "You have an amazing gift, you can sing sweetie, I heard you, you and Eddie would sound great together."
Loren shows her the envelope on her desk. "Guess what?"
"What?" Nora looks at her daughter; she's smiling from ear to ear. "Open it."
"These are two front row tickets to Eddie's concert, these are pricey, how did you find them?"
Nothing will wipe the smile on her face. "I met Eddie at the Madsen office, he asked if we were going to his concert, Mel and I said we weren't able to get tickets, he gave us these two tickets!"
"That's great, you met him, and you're still standing?"
"I don't know how I did it, Mel was there, we handled it pretty good."
Nora hugs her. "You got the job?"
"Yes, I'm the nanny to Jake and Kelly's twin boys, its great pay, I can drop my job at the coffee shop."
"I'm very happy for you."
"I know mom, I'm so excited!"
"Let's get dinner on the table."
The following day, Loren arrives a few minutes before 1 p.m. she walks into the office where she met with Kelly. She opens the door, someone's on the phone.
The person on the phone looks at her, he waves for her to wait, he's finally off of the phone. "How can I help you?"
"I'm Loren Tate, Kelly's expecting me."
"She'll be right down, I'm Jason, Kelly's assistant."
"Nice to meet you."
"You're the new nanny huh?" He looks at her from top to bottom.
"I am." Loren looks away, she feels uncomfortable with the way he's looking at her.
"You can take a seat; Kelly will be here soon."
The door opens, Kelly walks in with her two boys. "Hi Loren, this is Eric and Ethan."
Loren kneels to their eye level. "Hi." She looks at Kelly. "Is there anything you need me to do right now?"
"They love the park, their stroller is outside, here's a bag of snacks, when you get back, my chef knows what to prepare for them, please take the stroller to the back storage room."
"Great, let's get started." She holds the boys hand and walks out with them. She places them on their stroller and they head to the park.
Jason turns to Kelly; he looks out the window. "Where did you find her? She's beautiful."
Kelly holds her hand out. "Stop Jason, she's working, leave her alone."
"What? What's wrong with admiring beauty?"
"Leave her alone." Kelly tells Jason.
He rolls his eyes. "Whatever; here are your messages."
Loren's at the park, she takes the boys out of their stroller, she walks them to the swings, Loren's glad she's wearing comfortable clothes; she'll be doing a lot of running with these two.
The week flies by, Loren and Mel are ready to see Eddie Duran in concert. Both girls are dressed to impress, they're very excited.
"I'm very happy, I can't believe we're here." Loren adds.
"I know, me too, let's find our row."
"Look who's standing there, it's Katy and Max Duran, my mom is a huge fan, she going to freak when I tell her I saw them." Loren adds.
"Katy's so beautiful and Max is so hot!" Mel says.
Loren holds Mel's arm. "Come on, stop staring, it's not polite."
They found their seats. Loren looks around; she notices Jake and Kelly standing by the side of the stage. "I wonder who's watching the boys."
"It's Saturday, your day off, not your problem."
"Those boys are really sweet; I loved playing with them."
"You're amazing, and sweet, I know they're fine." Mel assures her.
Loren smiles, the music starts in the background, the lights are flashing everywhere, screams are heard in the background, Eddie appears, he's wearing jeans and a black T-shirt and jacket, he's wearing a bandana around his neck, his hair is messy, he looks gorgeous! He dances and jumps around the stage, he moves towards the girls in the front row, Loren sings along with him, everyone is standing and raising their hands. Mel's recording the whole thing on her phone. Eddie continues to sing his popular hits, he teases the girls in the front row, slightly touching their hands; he sings and moves around. He catches sight of Loren, he takes his bandana off and throws it on her hand, he winks at her and continues to sing.
Mel turns towards her. "Omg Loren, he gave you his bandana!"
Loren can't believe it. "I know!" She continues to sing along with Eddie, he starts a new set of songs! After 2 hours, the show's over, Loren and Mel make their way out, some girls offer Loren money for the bandana Eddie gave her, she refuses any offer, she places it inside her jacket.
Kelly spots Loren and Mel, she waves to them. Mel notices. "Kelly's waving at us let's go and say hello."
"Maybe she needs me right now?" Loren wonders.
"Oh stop, maybe we get to see Eddie one more time."
They head towards Kelly. "Come on, I want you to meet Katy and Max Duran."
Loren's thrilled. "How much better can tonight get? We have to thank Adam."
It's going to be a night to remember Lo." Mel adds with excitement.
Kelly heads towards Katy and Max trailed by Loren and Mel. "I want you to meet Loren Tate and Melissa Sanders, Loren is the boy's nanny."
Katy smiles, and acknowledges them. "Nice to meet Eddie's fans."
Loren can't believe this is happening. "It's nice to meet you too." Max smiles too. "Nice to meet two beautiful young ladies, did you enjoy the show?"
"Yes we did, thank you so much!" Mel responds with excitement in her voice.
From the corner of her eye Loren spots Jake talking to Eddie, she can't believe he's right there, so close to her.
Kelly pulls Loren to the side. "I need you tomorrow, I know its Sunday, we're having a little dinner party at home with the Duran's, I need your help with the boys."
Did I just hear her say a dinner party with the Duran's? "Sure Kelly, what time?"
"I hope noon is ok, I'll pay you extra."
"Of course, I'll finish my homework and head to your place before noon."
"Great, thank you so much, I'll see you tomorrow."
Loren holds Mel's arm. "It was nice meeting you both, excuse us, I'll see you tomorrow Kelly."
"Thanks again Loren."
Mel cringes. "I was about to say hello to Eddie, you ruined it."
"He's busy with Jake, come on let's head home, Kelly needs me tomorrow."
"On a Sunday?"
"Yes, she's hosting a dinner party for the Duran's!"
"You'll see Eddie again." Mel screeches.
"I have Adam to thank for this, who would have thought I'd meet Eddie Duran; did you see how gorgeous he looked on stage?"
"Yes, and you got a gift from him." Mel sighs.
"I know, I can smell his cologne, you know where I'm going to keep this."
"Under your pillow?"
Loren pads her pocket. "Yes!"
Loren drops Mel at home and heads home, Nora is still up, Loren tells her all about the concert, and she met Katy and Max Duran, she shows Nora her souvenir from Eddie. Nora loves her daughter's excitement, especially when she's this happy.
The following morning, Loren makes breakfast. She does her laundry, cleans her room; she's ready to leave by 11: 15. "Let me see what you're wearing?"
"I'm wearing a tank top, jeans and a jacket, does this look bad?"
"No, but it's a dinner party."
"I'm watching the boys; I'll probably be with them in the playroom; I'll be nowhere near the dinner party."
"I guess you're right, have a great day sweetie."
Loren gets into her car and heads to Kelly's home. She arrives early at the Madsen's penthouse; she takes the elevator to the top floor. The door is slightly ajar; Loren knocks lightly on the door.
Jake opens the door with a smile. "Come on in, Kelly's in the playroom."
"Good morning Mr. Madsen, thank you, I'll head over there."
Loren walks into the playroom. "Hi Kelly, I'm here to help."
The boys see Loren and run towards her. "My boys like you." Kelly says.
"They're amazing Kelly; they're really good with me."
"Thank you, please keep them busy, the dinner is set for 2 p.m. I have to make sure everything is set in the dining room area."
"No problem, glad I could help."
Loren reads to the two siblings, they listen and laugh while Loren makes the book come alive to them; She takes the toy blocks out, they built a small fort, she can hear noise in the background, Kelly's guests are enjoying their dinner. Loren looks at her watch, she knows it's dinnertime for the twins, she holds their hands and takes them to the bathroom to wash their hands, then they head to the kitchen using the other entrance of the hallway.
The chef smiles. "Their food is on the table, its chicken nuggets and carrot sticks."
"Thank you Mr. Miguel." She sits each boy in their booster chair and places their plate in front of each. "Let's eat, I'll get your apple juice."
Loren grabs two juice boxes and places one with each boy. "You two were hungry huh?"
The door opens, Loren turns around, she smiles when she sees who it is.
"I thought I heard the boys."
"Hi Eddie, yes they're having dinner."
He approaches them. "Hey guys, you enjoying your chicken?" He plays with their hair.
One of them offers Eddie a piece. "For you."
"Oh no, that's your piece, thanks." He smiles and looks towards Loren. "Did you enjoy the concert?"
"Yes, you were amazing; the show was great, thank you for the tickets."
"Thank you Loren, you're welcome; I hope you enjoyed the souvenir." He winks, and walks back to the dining area.
Loren downcast her look, she's sure she's blushing. She sits near the boys, she hears noise coming from the dining room area, the door opens again.
"You must be the new nanny?"
Loren immediately recognizes the tall slim blonde walking towards her holding a glass of white wine.
"Yes, can I help you?"
"No, let me help you understand something little girl, stay away from my boyfriend."
Loren furrows her eyebrows. "Excuse me."
"You heard me; this is your place; your job is to watch these brats."
Both turn at the sound of the door opening. "What are you doing here Chloe?"
