MAC awards Chapter 8

Weeks flew by.

Loren stays busy rehearsing her playlist, she'll be touring with Eddie, he has a show in San Francisco that weekend, she will open for him in every show. Loren tries to ignore his behavior, he's changed a lot, he doesn't seem to care anymore, he dates a different Girlfriend each week. It annoys her, breaking up with Chloe turned him into a Casanova, he's still sweet to Loren, he keeps calling her his friend, he talks to Loren about everything. That confuses her.

Loren's on stage with a dance director, she's learning dance steps, she'll do a few different moves with Eddie when they perform their latest duet. "If there was no Music"

Kelly hired another Nanny for the twins, she will travel with them and watch the boys, they love Loren, they dance to Loren's steps when she practices the steps.

Loren loves to watch them dance next to her; they look so cute.

Eddie walks in with this week's latest fling, Rita is one of the dancers on the show. Loren rolls her eyes; she continues to practice her dance steps.

"What do you think of these new steps? Should we do these during the duet?" Loren wonders.

He smiles, he does a few several dance moves toward Loren. "I think we can them during our duet."

"I think we should rehearse the steps then."

Eddie turns towards Rita. "Hey babe, go practice with the girls, I'll catch up with you later."

Loren frowns, she looks at him. "Is this your life now?"

"What do you mean?"

"Last week you were with Sonya, the week before it was Laura, now it's one of the dancers, what is it with you lately?"

He lets out a huge sigh. "You sound like my mother, I'm having fun, I don't take girls serious anymore."

"Why? Because Chloe cheated?"

"I took our relationship serious; obviously she didn't, why should I care?"

"You should care; you're the type of guy who deserves to be happy."

He laughs. "I don't believe that anymore."

Loren gets her things and walks towards the exit. "I thought we were going to go over the steps."

Loren continues to walk. "Not in the mood when you behave like this."

Loren reaches her dressing room. She closes the door behind her, she leans on the door, it hurts to see Eddie like this, it's harder now, she's in love with him.

The more they perform, the more confidence Loren is, she's at the top of the world, the yearly Music Awards Ceremonies will begin soon. Loren is asked to attend and present the MAC's to the winners, she's ecstatic when Katy tells her.
"Me? Are you sure?"

"Yes, by this time next year, I'm sure you'll be nominated for an Award Loren, Eddie has several; it's a big honor to present them, that means they have their eyes on you."

Loren hugs Katy, she hasn't felt this happy in a while, Eddie walks in.

"What's new?"

Without thinking, Loren turns around and hugs Eddie too. "I'm presenting the MAC's this year, I've watched every year, now I'm going to be on stage with the winners."

"Wow Loren, that's great."

Their eyes lock, she loves his beautiful brown eyes, her eyes shift away, she asks without pondering any further.

"Do you want to go with me?"

She realizes what she did. "Oh wait, I'm sure you have a date, I wasn't thinking."

Katy immediately makes eye contact with her son. She moves her eyes in a way that he knows what she's trying to tell him; he smiles, and holds Loren's hand.

"Sure, I don't have anyone in mind, it's my pleasure to be your date that night."

"Really?" Loren's shocked; she thought he'd take one of his many girlfriends to the MAC awards.

"Yes really, I think it'll be great to be seen with you."

Katy walks towards Loren. "Ok young lady, we have to get you a designer dress, the MAC's are two weeks away, it's time to look the part."

"Wait what?"

"You're seen in every magazine, you've been opening for Eddie for a few months and now you've been asked to present at the MAC's, you Loren Tate, are a celebrity."

She blushes, she looks at Eddie, he winks at her. "Listen to my mom, I'll see you later."

He walks away, Loren can't help but follow him with her eyes until he disappears into the street.

Katy walks towards her. "Can we talk?"

Loren's distracted, she doesn't realize Katy knows what's going on. "Loren!"

She looks at Katy. "I'm sorry."

"You're in love young lady!"

Loren sighs, she looks away, Katy knows how she feels about Eddie.

"Of course not, what are you talking about?"

"You can't fool me Loren, I've known for a while, you just confirmed it."

Loren tries hard to change the subject. "What designer are we going to go and see?"

"No, you're not." She holds Loren's hand, they sit at the nearest chair.

"Let's be honest, I think it's great that you feel that way about my son, you can be the next MK for the future generations."

Loren downcast her look, she tries to take a drink from her bottle water, she knows she's blushing.

"We're friends Katy, that's it."

"I know you want something more than a friendship with my son."

She makes Loren look at her, Loren's orbs fill with tears, she wants to tell Katy everything.

"Chloe ruined everything, he doesn't believe in true love anymore, he told me himself."

"It's up to you to change his mind."

"What? How?" she furrows her eye brows, trying to understand what Katy's trying to tell her.

"You're performing as a couple, that's been going on for a while, don't give up, Eddie can be persuaded very easily."

Loren sighs. "What am I supposed to do? Tell him how I feel?"

Katy smiles. "Come on, let's get you ready for that day, Eddie's about to see you in a new light."

A few days later, Loren's at Kelly's for her first photo shoot, she's going to appear in several magazines, she was selected the presenter of this years' MAC's. She's getting her hair done, she'll try on several outfits.

"Is Kelly in her office?" Katy asks Jason.

"She's upstairs with the boys, the nanny's taking them to the park."

Loren sighs. "I miss watching those boys."

Jason walks towards Loren. "Hey, I heard you're presenting the MAC awards?"

Loren smiles. "Yes, I'm excited and nervous."

"You're going to be fine; if you can perform in front of millions of fans you can stand on stage and give the winners their awards."

"I guess, I can, the thought of seeing many famous musicians has my tummy in a knot."

He holds her hand. "You beautiful, you can do anything you want."

Loren removes her hand from his grip. "Thanks."

"Do you need a date for that evening?"

She looks away, and responds. "No, Eddie and I are going together."

"Why you want to be seen with Hollywood's newest gigolo?"

"Don't call him that."

"Hey it's not me." He grabs one of the gossip magazines on Kelly's desk and throws it in front of her. "See, their saying it."

"It's not true, Eddie is a sweet guy."

"I'm sure all those gorgeous ladies he dates are just a collection; guess you want to be part of that collection?"

"Stop talking like that!"

Kelly walks in. "We're off to make-up and hair, you'll try several outfits for your shoot, let's go." She looks at Jason. "Make sure you call Eddie; he's should be here too."

"He's in the pictures too?" Loren questions.

"We need some of you and Eddie for publicity, time to get ready."

Kelly's team gets Loren ready, within the hour Eddie's arrives. "Where's Kelly?"

He rolls his eyes. "Where they usually take your pictures."

"Here." He hands Jason a schedule. "Make sure you make a copy for Jake and Kelly, let me have one when I return."

Jason takes the paper. "What's this for?"

"Just make the copies, I need one too, then file the original, it's for next month's tour in Vegas."

"Can I assume Loren's in this tour too?"

"Yes, she opening for me in Vegas."

"Some guys have all of the fun." Jason retorts, snatching the paper from Eddie's hand.

Eddie ignores him and heads towards the back, when he walks into the room, Loren's in a shiny tank top and hot pants, she's wearing boots. Her hair is straight and her make-up is perfect. He watches Loren turn and twirl in the direction of the photographer. Max walks in, Eddie jumps at the touch of his hand on his shoulder. "You scared me Pops."

"Enjoying the view." Max asks.

"She looks beautiful." Eddie admits.

"You just noticed, I think she's the best looking thing to hit Hollywood."

"I guess so."

"You're too busy dating like there's no tomorrow, you haven't noticed how beautiful and sweet Loren is."

Kelly opens the door. "Hey Eddie, get into make-up, I need you here, I need pictures of you and Loren."

Loren's rushed to her dressing room, she's given a long evening gown, her hair is pinned up, she walks out and finds Eddie all decked out in a tuxedo.

The photographer looks at them. "Eddie stand next to Loren and hold her close, make sure you look into each other's eyes, that's perfect." He gets a close up. "Don't move!"

Loren's trying hard to be professional, she hopes he can't see how she feels about him, she can look at him all day, he smiles while looking at Loren, he whispers. "You're beautiful."

She tries not to blush. "Thanks."

The photographer takes several shots of them in different poses. Loren's asked to step aside, Eddie changes into casual clothing, more photographs are taken of him solo.

After a long photo shoot, Loren's home, Nora and Mel are ready to eat dinner. "Look who's finally home."

"I'm starving, I had to wait until the pictures they took of Eddie and I were perfect."

Mel stares at Loren. "You look amazing, professional make-up looks good on you."

"I know right; I look very different."

Nora smiles, she looks at her daughter. "Sweetie you're perfect, when will we see those pictures?"

"Kelly wants them fast, guess what?"

Mel can't wait to hear. "What?"

"I'm presenting the awards to the winners at the MAC's!"

"That's amazing, you're a superstar Lo." Mel's excited for Loren.

Loren can't help but smile, Mel and her mom hug her. "Katy says it's great to be asked to present the MAC's, I never thought this was possible."

Nora and Mel look at each. "Your mom and I always told you that your singing voice could take you into the music world, and we were right!"

"I know, it's just me." She smiles. "I'm grateful and blessed for everything."

It's time for the MAC's awards, Kelly hires B G Haute to bring their gowns for Loren to wear, she'll be the center of attention in the stunning gown chosen for her, it's low v-neckline, fitted silhouette, open back with crisscross straps. The dress has beadwork all around, Loren looks stunning in the dress, she's wearing silver stilettos, her hair is left wavy, it flows around her shoulders, her make-up matches perfectly. Loren stands in front of the full length mirror, she's speechless. Kelly looks at her and smiles. "You ok?"

"I can't believe that's me."

"You better get used to this; you're going to be wearing a lot of this type of dress from now on."

Loren turns to see the back of the dress. "I'm showing too much."

"You have an amazing body, come on let's go, Katy asked to see you before you leave."

They exit the room, Jason and Katy are walking out of Kelly's office, they stop when they see Loren. Jason's the first to speak. "Whoa Loren, you look amazing!"

Katy admires Loren's beauty. "Omg you look like a princess, you're gorgeous Loren"

Kelly shrugs her shoulders. "I've been trying to convince her while we were in the dressing room."

"Let me see you Loren, turn around, I love the dress Haute send over, this jewelry is on loan, let me put it on you."

Mel and Nora walk into the room. "That can't be my girl."

Loren turns around to see them; Mel tears. "Don't you start; I'm not allowed to smudge my make-up."

"Our newest Hollywood celebrity is hot!" Mel adds, she walks around Loren to looks at her dress. "Girl, that dress is amazing and beautiful, looks like you're wearing butter and silk."

"Do you like it Mel? It's very beautiful."

Mel shakes her head in disbelief. "You have got to be kidding me." She looks at Jason. "How would you rate Loren's look?"

Jason doesn't hesitate to answer; he walks towards Loren. "The moment I saw her I knew she was the most beautiful lady in the L.A area."

Loren moves, he gets too close. "Thanks Jason."

Max and Eddie walk in. "The Limo awaits." Both stop when they see Loren. "Wow you look amazing."

"Thanks Max." her eyes shift towards Eddie. He smiles and extends his arm. Loren blushes, she places her hand in his arm and they walk away, Katy can't help but smile, she holds Max's arm, they trail behind Loren and Eddie.

The driver holds the door open, all four enter the limo and leave. Loren's trying to stay calm.

"You look beautiful Loren."

She has the courage to look him in the eyes. "Thanks Eddie."

They arrive, there are reporters waiting, cameras are flashing everywhere, most of the questions are about Loren, all four continue their way into the building where the awards are being held.

They enter the building, they stop, many watch while the person standing in front of them walks towards Eddie and Loren.
