You're beautiful Chapter 12

Loren hasn't moved, she notices Max's is standing nearby, she stands up and rushes to her room. "Good night Max." She reaches her room and closes the door behind her, Loren's heart is racing; she places her hand on her chest. "Calm down." She sits, Eddie kissed her, did Max see it? She wonders.

Meanwhile, Katy walks in a pot of coffee. "Here's the coffee." She looks at Max. "I thought Loren was here?"

Max scratches the back of his head. "Hmmm, she left."

"Oh great, he's asleep, I have this huge pot of coffee and no one to drink it."

"He can sleep it off here; we can have that coffee in the morning."

"I guess." Katy walks back to the kitchen and places the pot of coffee back in its place. Max trails behind her. "Something happened when Loren was sitting with Eddie."

"Did he get sick?"

He hesitates. "No, he kissed Loren, he told her he loves her."

Katy's eyes widen. "Wait what?"

"I went our son's room to put his things away, when I came up, he was kissing her, then he told her he loved her, then he fell back on the couch."

Katy's mortified. "Omg what has he done? How could he do this to Loren?"

"He's been drinking; I don't think he'll remember in the morning."

Katy paces. "No Max you don't get it, Loren's in love with our son, how will this affect her?"

Max sits down. "I'm sure he didn't mean to kiss her; he was caught in the moment."

"That's not the point Max, that's a typical male response, I can't imagine what's going through her head."

"She ran to her room when she saw me; she knows I saw the whole thing."

"I'm going to talk to her."

Max stops her. "Wait til morning, I'm sure Loren understands he wasn't himself."

"I'm sure she does, our son kisses her, he won't remember a thing, how could Eddie do such a stupid thing, I hope he understands his actions will have consequences?"

"I'll talk to him in the morning, you talk to Loren; make sure she's ok."

Katy's upset. "I'm going to kill him!"

Loren can't sleep, the kiss was intense, he said he loved me, she doesn't hear Mel walk in. "Hey Superstar, it was a huge night, I bet you can't sleep."

"I didn't hear you come in."

"Your adrenaline is going strong, it's after 1, you better get some rest."

"I can't, I don't know if I'll be able to sleep tonight."

Mel notices somethings wrong. "Hey you ok?"

"I don't know, Eddie kissed me."

Mel runs to her side. "He what?"

"He kissed me, then he said he loved me."

"How and when was this?"

"He had too much to drink; I drove his car here, we came in, Katy went to make coffee, Max took his things to his room, I sat with him to make sure he didn't leave."

Mel's taking in every word. "Then what?"

"He said I was beautiful, within minutes he kissed me, then he said I love you."

"Omg, no wonder you can't sleep."

Loren lets out a huge sigh. "I know he wasn't himself, he's been drinking, he's not going to remember this in the morning, I'm so embarrassed, Max saw the whole thing."

"You shouldn't feel embarrassed, he kissed you, he should be feel bad."

Loren towards the big window. "He fell asleep after he kissed me, he won't remember a single thing, can you imagine how I felt to hear him say he loves me?"

"I know you love him, sorry it happened this way Lo."

"Yes it would be amazing, not under these circumstances, I better stop thinking about this because he won't remember in the morning." Loren sighs.

Mel hugs her. "Get some sleep, we have to get ready to fly back home, you need to rest, you're going to be very busy, you're the newest Pop star this year."

"I'll try; I don't know if I can face the Duran's tomorrow."

"Hey you didn't do anything wrong, Eddie's the one to blame."

Loren walks into the bathroom to get ready for bed, after a few minutes, she lays on her bed, she turns the radio on and smiles, one of Eddie's songs is playing, a small tear rolls down her cheek.

The following morning, Loren jumps in the shower, Mel surprises her with a cup of coffee. "Here, thought I'd get this for us." Loren takes the cup from her hand. "Thanks Mel." she takes a sip.

"Is everybody up?"

"Katy and Max are in the kitchen, I didn't see Eddie or Ian."

"Did Katy say anything?"

"She asked if you were up, I told her you were in the shower, Max's his usual sweet self."

Loren sits in one of the chairs by the TV room. She takes another sip of her coffee. "I'm going to shower." Mel walks into the bathroom, Katy's at the door. "Can we talk?"

Mel hurries into the bathroom and closes the door behind her. Loren gets up; she doesn't want to make eye contact. "Good morning Katy."

"Did you get some sleep?"

"I think I did." Katy notices, she gets closer to her. "Listen, Max told me what happened, I'm sorry."

"You don't have to apologize, I know Eddie wasn't himself, he's not going to remember, please don't worry about it."

"This isn't over, I hate it when he drinks, then he has the nerve to kiss you and tell you he loves you, I know how you feel Loren, you don't need any of this right now, you're starting your career."

"It's ok, I know he won't remember any of it, let's forget this even happened."

"I can't, Max is downstairs talking to him; this will never happen again, I don't want you hurting because of my son."

Loren bites her lower lip. "Thanks Katy, I promise, I'm ok, he was drinking, he wouldn't hurt me on purpose."

Katy hugs her. "I know how you feel Loren."

"I don't want you to worry." Loren tells her.

"Just a warning, I might kill Eddie for that stunt he pulled."

Loren smiles. "It's ok Katy, don't hurt him."

"I can't promise anything, I'll let you pack, come down for breakfast."

Meanwhile…..

Max's in the basement, he walks in and finds Ian watching TV and drinking coffee. "Where's Eddie?"

"He's in the shower, you should have seen him this morning, it's been a while since I've seen Eddie a little hung over." Ian smirks.

Eddie steps out with the towel wrapped around his waist, he's drying his hair with his hand. "Hey pops, I need some aspirin, thanks for the coffee."

"Your mom made it last night, by the time it was ready you were asleep."

"I know, I'll enjoy it right now, I need something for this headache."

Max turns to Ian. "Can we have some privacy?"

Ian stands up. "Sure, I'll get something to eat."

Eddie walks back into the bathroom; he walks out with a robe on. "What's up pops?"

"Do you recall anything from last night?"

Eddie furrows his eye. "I don't know, should I?"

"You don't remember getting home? I know you had a bit too much to drink."

"I know, I was in the car with you and mom."

"Loren drove your car, do you remember that?"

"I guess, I'm not sure." Eddie furrows his eyes again, he walks closer to his dad, he takes another sip of his coffee. "What's wrong?"

"Loren sat with you last night while your mom made coffee, I came down here to drop off your things, I wasn't too long, when I went upstairs." Max sighs "What? Just say it, what happened?"

"You told Loren you loved her and you kissed her."

Eddie's eyes widen. "I did what? Please tell me you're kidding?"

Max sits down. "I wish I was Eddie, I saw and heard you."

"Omg, what did Loren do?"

"When she saw me she took off to her room."

Eddie buries his head in his arms. "Oh man, I wasn't thinking, I mean I don't know what happened."

"Be ready, your mom is going to kill you."

Eddie rolls his eyes. "I'm a jerk, how could I do this to her?"

"You told her she was beautiful."

"I'm not lying, she's beautiful, but to kiss and tell her I love her?"

"You better talk to her, your mom isn't very happy with you right now."

Eddie walks back to the bathroom. "Sorry about everything."

It's past noon, Loren and Mel are packed, and ready to go. Loren doesn't want to go downstairs, it's not a good idea right now, she wants to avoid Eddie, it's awkward, she's in no mood to see him.

"I made these sandwiches, they're pastrami." Mel says.

Loren licks her lips. "You're an angel; I'm starving, thanks, my favorite."

"I don't know what the fuzz is all about, you did nothing wrong, the one that should be embarrassed is Eddie, he kissed you."

Loren takes a huge bite from her sandwich. "I know, but it's better this way, once we head to the airport there will be plenty of people around."

"I think they're ready to go, I heard Max calling for the Limo."

Eddie's in his room packing when Katy walks in. "I heard your dad talked to you?"

Eddie doesn't want to look at his mom. "Yes, I'm really sorry, I don't know what came over me, I wouldn't hurt Loren."

"I don't want this happening again, Loren is at the peak of getting her career launched, I can't have you doing anything close to that stunt you pulled last night."

"I know mom, like I told Pops, I'm sorry, I'll tell you the same thing, I'm sorry."

"Did you talk to Loren?"

Eddie lets out a huge sigh, he knows his mom won't let go of this that easily. "No, not yet, I haven't seen her at all today, I guess she's avoiding me."

Katy rolls her eyes. "The way she feels about you and.." she stops when she realizes what she said. Eddie looks at her. "What are you talking about?"

"Nothing, talk to her and apologize."

"Mom you were going to say something?"

"Finish packing." She leaves his room quickly. Eddie watches his mom exit the room, wondering what she was talking about.

Within the hour, Mel and Loren are outside with their luggage waiting for the Limo. Eddie walks out with his bags, Ian trails behind him. "You're both anxious to get going huh?"

Mel smiles when she spots Ian. "Yes we are, how are we going to see each other now that we're headed back home?"

She wraps her hands around Ian's waist. "Let's see what we can do about that."

Eddie watches Mel, Ian take a few steps away from where Loren's standing. "Can we talk?"

She pulls her hair to the side, she moves her luggage closer, Eddie can tell she's nervous. "Listen, I owe you an apology."

"Don't worry; like I told your mom, you weren't yourself."

"I had no right to do that, I'm really sorry Loren, I feel very bad, you're a great friend, we're working together, I don't want to ruin our relationship."

She looks at him. "It's ok; I know you were drinking, forget the whole thing." She extends her hand. "Friends?"

Eddie smiles. "Thanks Loren, of course, there's one thing I wasn't lying about, you are very beautiful."

"You remembered that?" She blushes.

"Apparently my Dad watched the whole thing, this is the last time I'll drink after a show."

"You're afraid of what you might do next?" Loren smirks.

"Yeah, we could get married, then what?"

Loren smiles, Eddie pulls his luggage closer to where she's standing. Max peeks through the door. "Hey the Limo is running late, they called a new driver, hang on."

Ian sits on the side of the Condo talking to Mel. "No rush Max, we have all day to get to home."

Within 20 minutes, the Limo arrives, the driver exits, he retrieves their luggage. Within seconds, he turns to where Eddie's standing, he pulls out a gun.

"I told you Duran we weren't done; I've waited for this day!" He points the gun towards Eddie. "Jason?"

Loren looks at Jason and back to Eddie. "What are you doing Jason?"

He stands his ground, he holds the gun and points towards Eddie, Ian and Mel hear the commotion and turn around, they look at each other not knowing if they should run for help.

"Stay out of this Loren; this is between Eddie and I." He aims the gun at Eddie; it takes Loren seconds to react, she screams and pushes Eddie out of Jason's line of target. The sound of gun fire is heard, Eddie and Loren fall to the ground.
