Danny and Loren duet Chapter 14
How about a jealous Eddie? I think YES!
"Loren is what?"
"Ok… She's in love with you! Are you happy you dragged it out of me?"
Eddie steps back. He sits on the edge of the couch, he sighs. "I had the feeling that's what it was."
"Can I leave now?"
Eddie opens the door. "Go, sorry, I had to know."
"I hope you're happy."
Eddie closes the door, he cares for Loren, but not like that, she's beautiful, sweet any guy would be happy to have her, she would be the perfect girlfriend. She has to concentrate on her career, love doesn't fit in his life.
Meanwhile…
Loren sees the Dr. she's given a physical, the bullet graced her arm, she's given a shot, and sent home to rest.
Days turn into weeks, and weeks into months, Loren's been opening for Eddie for 9 months, they've been to northern California, Oregon and Washington state, her album is on the top of the charts, it hit the number two spot in the Music Billboard, Jake and Kelly tell Katy that it's time Loren goes solo, she will perform on her own, she won't open for Eddie any longer.
Katy tells Loren the good news, she's heart-broken, she loved spending time with Eddie while they rehearsed, now she's on her own, that won't happen anymore.
"I'm ready?" Loren wonders.
"Yes, you are, your sales are doing much better than expected, you're headed to the top with Eddie, Taylor and many more artists."
"I'm excited, I really am, I thought I'd open for Eddie for a full year before going solo, if that's the way to go, I'm ready! Thought we were headed to the East coast?"
"We can do the East coast later." Katy tells her, she grabs her bag. "By the way, Danny called."
She gives Katy a confused look. "Danny? Danny Lopez?"
"Yes, the one and only, he's one of the youngest country artists, he's wants to record a duet with you."
Loren bites her lower lip. "Do I have to say yes?"
"This is a huge opportunity for you, I spoke to Kelly and Jake, they agree, he'll open more doors for you."
Loren shrugs her shoulders. "Then I'll do it, see you later Katy."
Loren's excited and sad, she's going to miss working with Eddie, maybe this is the way to go, he won't miss her, he's still dating, not like he was before the close call with Jason, that straighten him out. Loren's home, she goes to her room. She lays on her bed and stares at the ceiling. Her door opens.
"I knew you were here!" Mel screeches.
Loren rolls to the side of her bed. "I want to be alone."
"Why? What's up?"
"Nothing, I don't want to talk about it right now."
Mel sits next to her. "What's going on?"
"Melissa Sanders! Leave me alone!" Loren's annoyed.
"Now I'm curious, its Eddie right? I thought he isn't such a Casanova anymore? Who's he dating?"
Loren keeps her back to Mel. "It's not that, I'm going to do my own concerts now."
Mel's confused. "Wait isn't that something to celebrate?"
"I guess, I loved opening for Eddie, I got to see him a lot, I'm going to miss him."
"Be positive, you're famous now! Everyone knows who you are, your fans love you, have you seen how many followers you have on twitter?"
"Yes, close to 150K, by the way, Danny Lopez wants a duet with me!"
Mel's eyes widen. "Omg are you for real? Danny the country singer? He's another hottie Lo!"
"I swear that's all you see."
"I do, nothing wrong with that."
Loren sits back up; she pulls her legs up to her chest and wraps her arms around them. "Kelly found a cute Condo pretty close to their office."
"Is it for us?"
"Yes, I thought we could look at it, are you ready to be roomies?"
"I can't wait, when can we go today?"
"Kelly made at appointment for tomorrow, will noon work for you?"
"Of course, I'm very excited!"
The following day.
They're punctual, they arrive before noon to see the Condo; it has a decent kitchen, and eating area, a nice living room with a huge picture window, it has an amazing view of the city. It has a beautiful terrace. Half bathroom on the first floor and two huge bedrooms on the top floor. The master has a full walk in closet, and master bath. The other bedroom has its own bathroom and walk in closet too. There's another bathroom with a linen closet on the second floor level.
"What do you think Loren?"
She smiles and looks at Kelly. "We love it!"
"It's a yes?"
Loren sighs. "I can afford this right?"
"Yes you can, have you seen your bank account?"
"Where do I sign?" Loren says with a big smile.
They'll meet with the realtor. Loren's going to own her very own Condo/Penthouse. All the paperwork is done, Loren's approved, they move in a month later.
After purchasing some furniture, and hiring an interior decorator, Loren's new place is beautiful. Her favorite purchase is her very own grand piano. She knows it will inspire her to write many more songs.
Eddie's in Canada for a month Loren meets with Danny Lopez, he's a huge fan. "It's a pleasure to meet the beautiful Loren Tate." He extends his hand. "Hi Danny, looking forward to working with you."
She has several songs ready, Danny looks through them. "These lyrics are very powerful." He turns to see her reaction. "Are these about a guy?"
"Not all my songs have to be about a guy? I write from my heart; Kelly says I'm an old- fashion romantic."
He smiles. "I agree, and beautiful."
"Thanks, listen to them, we can agree on one."
A week later, they're in the recording studio rehearsing the song "Out of reach."
Loren's lines are: "You're out of reach; you're so far, why did we meet, why must I wait, why must I wait, tell me how you're out of reach…." She continues with her lines and Danny steps in to sing his part of the song.
Within a week they're recording, the gossip magazine and paparazzi waste no time in assuming Loren and Danny are a couple.

Katy's in Canada preparing some last minute things for Eddie, she's online, and notices the news on STARS TO REACH. "Loren's doing great."
Eddie's next to his mom, he's signing a few papers, he sees the pictures. "That's Loren?"
"Yes, she did a duet with Danny Lopez, that song was written by Loren, it's climbing the charts, be careful Eddie, she's going to catch up to you."
He reads the captions under their pictures. "She's dating him?"
"No, it's gossip, I'm sure Danny's very interested, he's been single for a while."
"Isn't he too old for her?"
Katy glances towards her son. "No, he's about your age, I think they make a cute couple, I'm happy for Loren, she deserves it."
"She's already in love." Eddie retorts. Katy looks at him. "Where did you heard that? She's in love with Danny?"
"No mom, I know the truth, Ian told me she's in love with me."
Katy places the papers Eddie signed into his iPad. "That was a while ago, I'm sure she's over you, she's smiling a lot lately, I think Danny is exactly what she needs."
"What! That dork?"
"Dork?" Katy laughs loud. "Ask any girl, he's very good looking."
"Mom!"
"What's with you? Suddenly you're in a bad mood?"
"That's all gossip; remember how they had me with every girl I spoke too."
"Yes, but Loren's different, she's not your typical Hollywood girl, Danny is very fortunate and smart to set his eyes on Loren, she's going to look amazing by his side."
"Oh please, she's not interested in Danny,"
"Why? She's not going to wait for you to make up your mind, you missed that train my son, time to open your eyes, Loren's famous, her voice gets better each time she releases a song, Danny isn't the first to notice my girl, there are plenty of guys, the Grammys are coming, I'm sure she's going to get nominated, she'll have plenty of guys waiting to go with her."
"I have this weekend in Toronto, then I'm back home."
Katy loves to tease her son. "You're rushing back to LA?"
"I never said rush, I miss my hometown."
"Many girlfriends waiting for you?"
Eddie rolls his eyes. "If we're done here, I have to get to rehearsal."
"Good idea, gives me a chance to spend time with your dad, and play catch up with Loren, she's busy now, I have to make sure she has time to talk to me, you know how that is."
"Yeah yeah…" He leaves and slams the door behind him. Katy smiles. "I detect some jealousy here?"
Max shakes his head. "You love to tease him, don't you?"
"It's his fault, Loren has been in love with him for a while, she can wait so long, I hope Danny sweeps her off her feet, teach Mr. Casanova a lesson or two."
"Stay out of it." Max tells her.
"I'm having fun Max, did you see how upset he was, something's bothering him, those pictures of Loren with Danny got to him." Katy places a kiss on Max's cheek. "Let's eat out tonight."
He holds her hand. "Let's go, we'll be back on time for your son's final concert."
A few days later, the label tells Loren they want a video of the song with the duet with Danny. They met the following day to start rehearsals; they spend the whole day at the studio working with a crew.
Eddie's back in LA, he stays busy working on his next album. He keeps a close eye on Loren, she's been seen with Danny everywhere, rumors say they're a couple.
Later that evening….
Loren and Danny left the studio. "I think that went very well."
"I can't believe that song is doing great." Loren seems surprised.
"That's why we were asked to do a video."
"I recorded two duets with Eddie, one song was his, I wrote the other one, it was fun doing the videos."
"The fans love the song, the reason it's on top; your lyrics won the hearts of many women."
"I guess they can relate." Loren sighs.
Danny opens the door for Loren, she gets into the car. He walks around and gets into the driver's seat. He finally has the courage to ask. "Was that song about a guy?"
"Truthfully yes, any girl can fall in love, the guy may never know how she's felt about him, I wrote it with many women in mind, the kind that experience unrequited love."
Danny smiles. "You hit the nail on the head when you wrote it."
He looks at Loren when he stops at a red light. "Are you hungry?"
"I'm starving, Mel made dinner for her boyfriend, you're welcomed to join us."
"I don't want to impose."
"Of course not, Mel's a huge fan; she'd love to meet you."
"Let's go, I miss home cooked meals."
Loren smiles, they arrive at her condo, they take the elevator to her floor.
"Maybe you should let Mel know there's an extra mouth to feed."
Loren looks for her keys. "Don't be silly, she's going to be excited to meet you, the moment she heard we were doing a duet, she's been on my case to meet you, she's a huge fan."
"What about you, were you ever a fan?"
"Of course, I love your music."
Danny smiles, he locks eyes with Loren; she notices and opens the door. "It smells delicious; Mel's an amazing cook, her specialty is pasta."
"I'm home, I have a surprise for you!"
Mel runs to the living room area, Ian trails behind her. "You're on time." Mel notices Danny and smiles. "You could have called and told me you were bringing Danny to dinner."
"I know you're a huge fan, I wanted to surprise you, Melissa Sanders meet Danny Lopez."
Mel smiles, she extends her hand. "I've been cooking all day, I'm a mess, nice to meet you."
He pulls Mel into a hug, and a peck on the cheek. "It's ok, don't worry about it, it's great to meet Loren's best friend."
Ian clears his throat. "This is my boyfriend, Ian Mitchell."
"Hello mate, nice to meet you." Danny smiles. "Same here Ian."
Mel looks at Ian and back towards Loren. "I sort have a surprise for you too."
Loren places her bag down and looks at her best friend. "What is it?"
Mel shrugs her shoulders. "Guess who's here?"
Eddie appears from behind Ian. "Hey Loren, thought I'd drop by to say hello."
She smiles. "Eddie? You're back?"
Who's thinking awkward? Danny and Eddie in the same room? What's up with Eddie? Eddie's jealous! who agrees?
