The Grammy's Chapter 16

Loren smiles, there are a million butterflies fluttering in her tummy, she wants Eddie at her side on that special night, she looks at Eddie. "Can we go together? Unless you have plans with one of your many girlfriends?"

Eddie's relieved, what's happening to him lately? A few months after breaking up with Chloe, he wouldn't care, for some reason he's happy she asked him, he isn't about to show it though. "It's a great idea Loren, I'd love to go with you."

Loren smiles, she can't help it, she's very happy. She turns towards Katy. "It's time to look for a dress."

"The designers come to the nominee's, we'll wait and see who wants you wearing their designs to the Grammy's."

"Sounds good." Loren adds.

"We're leaving, we wanted to tell you in person, we were anxious to see your reaction Loren."

Kelly laughs. "Let's be honest Katy, we practically flew here."

"I'm excited for Loren; can you blame me?"

Kelly grabs her bag; she heads to the door with Katy trailing behind her. "We'll meet soon Loren."

"Yes, it's going to be busy." Loren closes the door; she looks at Eddie who's getting ready to leave. "Thanks for staying."

"It's late, I'm looking forward to the Grammy's, I'm sure you're going to win."

"Thanks, I hope so."

"I know you will, sweet dreams, see you soon."

Eddie leaves, Loren leans on the door, this has to be a dream, she's a Grammy nominee, she jumps with happiness on her way to her room.

A few days later, Loren and Danny finally finish the video they worked so hard on. "This was fun Loren."

"It was; I hope we can do another one soon." Danny says.

Danny mentions the Grammy's. "I'm sure you have a date?"

Loren smiles. "For the Grammy's? Eddie and I are going together."

"Of course, it's perfect; thanks to his family you're in this business."

Loren pulls her hair to the side, she ties one of her shoes. "I know, I've worked hard, I don't want to sound conceited, I'm very good, they helped so much, I will always be grateful to them."

"Wish you would have given me the chance to ask you."

Loren sighs. "Sorry Danny, Eddie's the perfect choice for this event."

Danny nods. "I've been blind; you have a thing for him don't you?"

She doesn't hesitate to respond. "I care for Eddie; he's a great friend."

He laughs, and shakes his head. "I'm sorry, can you look me in the eyes and tell me you're not in love with the guy."

"What's the problem Danny? Eddie and I are friends."

"Omg, you're blind! He's a huge fake…" Loren stops him before he finishes his sentence. "Stop! You don't know Eddie that well to talk about him, you didn't see how hurt he was when he found out Chloe cheated, please stop."

"Poor Eddie, everything's been handed to him all his life, he has a career thanks to his parents."

"That's not fair Danny, he's worked hard to get where he's at, how can you say those things about him?"

"He's a joke!, and a womanizing jerk, I'm glad Chloe cheated on him!"

"Stop! I thought you were a friend."

Danny rolls his eyes and laughs sarcastically. "Friends, I see him once in a while, we're not friends."

"I'm done talking to you, I don't know what your problem is, I'm not going to stand here and listen to you talk about Eddie that way, he's an amazing guy."

She grabs her things and heads to the door. "I thought we were doing lunch Loren?"

She slams the door. "Where's Loren?" Jake asks. "Thought she was here."

"She left, she's made at me."

"I thought you two were having lunch?"

"She's upset."

"It takes a lot to upset Loren, what did you do?"

Danny crashes down on the nearest sofa. "Note to self, can't say anything bad about Eddie."

"You bad mouthing Eduardo?"

"No Jake, you and I know he can be a real jerk."

Jake looks at Danny. "Eddie's a great guy, he doesn't jump from girl to girl, he's a one-woman man, after that mess, he dates for fun, what's wrong with that?"

"What's wrong? Did you know Loren's in love with him?"

Jake smiles. "You can't blame Eddie for that."

"Didn't you hear; he's taking Loren to the Grammies."

"I think I know what your problem is."

"Enlighten me!" Danny tells him.

"You're jealous of Eddie; not his fault you know."

Danny rolls his eyes; Jake looks at him. "All I know is that you're the one that's fallen for Loren?"

Danny looks through his phone. "I like her."

"Then talk to her." Jake suggests.

"She'll turn me down, she's into Duran, I don't have a chance Jake."

"You're giving up too fast."

"Nah…once Duran gets a load of this, she'll be his, it's that easy for him."

"I've never seen you give up so easily, you've gotten where you're at because you don't give up, you're a huge country artist, Loren's very sweet, not many girls like her anymore, she's the real deal."

"I know, she's genuine and beautiful. She's all that and more, can you believe she's all I think about, we're done with the video, I know I'll miss her."

Jake looks at Danny. "Don't give up man, Eddie hasn't said anything, maybe you're wrong, I'm sure she's grateful to the Duran's for their help with her career, maybe that's it."

"I don't know; all I know is that my heart's aching."

Jake shrugs his shoulders. "Sorry man."

Loren's home, she gets a bottle of water and heads to the terrace, the conversation with Danny is still bothering her, she takes a sip of water, who is she kidding? Danny's right, she's in love with Eddie, she's fallen hard for him, all she can think about is the Grammy's, she'll walk into the Grammy Awards with Eddie by her side. She's thrilled he's her date.

"Loren, I'm home!"

"I'm outside."

"How was your day? Did you finish the video with Danny?"

"Yes we did."

"You don't sound too happy; did I miss something?"

"He gave me a hard time because I'm going to the Grammy's with Eddie."

"Really? What is his problem?"

"He gave me the third degree about Eddie being a jerk; I don't want to talk about it."

Mel looks at Loren. "I think Danny's jealous!"

"Jealous of what?"

Mel shakes her head. "You're so naïve Lo."

Loren rolls her eyes. "I am not!"

"He's into you, Danny likes you, haven't you noticed?"

"No, he's a friend, I've never lead him to believe otherwise."

"I had to tell you Phil was crazy about you, you never notice these things, I have to bring it to your attention all of the time."

"Yeah and you drive me nuts, that's the reason Phil and I stopped dating, you were always on my case."

"I wanted you to be happy."

"You drove us nuts!"

"Well that's in the past, the point I'm trying to make is that Danny likes you."

Loren walks to the fridge; and takes out a plate of leftovers. "Not interested; I'm busy with my career, I have to find a dress for the Grammy's."

"Oh yes, I remember, you're in love with Eddie!"

Loren places the plate in the microwave and pushes the on button, that's dinner for the evening.

"I don't want to see you get hurt, Eddie doesn't seem interested in anyone, we have Chloe to blame for that."

"I know, I want to hang on to a little hope, he's going with me to the Grammy's, maybe he'll see how different I am from Chloe." She looks at Mel. "I can make him happy, he'll never hurt again."

Mel hugs her best friend. "I know, I hope it works out the way you want, you and Eddie would be the next MK of this century."

"I don't care about that, I want to see him happy."

Mel sighs. "No sad faces allowed, let's eat, I have a message from Kelly, she wants you to stop by the office, the designers want to see you, you have choices to make."

"When did you see Kelly?"

"I stopped by the office to see if you were done, I saw Kelly, she told me to give you the message."

Loren smiles. "I can't wait!"

They enjoy dinner and watch some TV, the following day, Loren get up early, she looks through her songs, she's inspired again, she has many lyrics flowing through her head. She gets her tea and heads to Kelly's office.

She's early, she hopes to see the twins before their nanny takes them to the park.

Kelly sees Loren. "Hey girl, you're early."

"Hi Kel, thought I'd see the boys before they go to the park."

"Sure go ahead, they're in their room."

The chef peeks thru the kitchen door. "Senorita Loren, it's good to see you."

Loren hugs him. "Mr. Miguel, it's good to see you too."

"We miss your lovely voice senorita Loren, I listen to you on the radio, I have your album, I listen all the time."

"Awww you're very sweet, I appreciate your support!"

Ethan and Eric run towards Loren when they hear her talking to Miguel. Loren kneels down to their eye level and hugs them. "Hey guys, how are you?"

"We miss you."

"I miss you too." They look at Kelly. "Can Loren read to us Mommy?"

"She's busy."

She holds their hands. "It's ok Kelly, I can read them a book, I really don't mind."

She walks them back to their room; Jake walks down the stairs. "Where's Loren going?"

"She's reading to the boys."

"That's sweet." Jake gets his coffee. "I'll be downstairs."

"I'll be down in a minute, getting the pictures the designers send ready for Loren."

"Eddie's stopping by, we're finally starting the video for Loren's song, "if there was no music." Jake tells her.

"That has to be done before the Grammy's, we have a month left, good thing Loren's here, we can review the dance steps for it, call Liam, we need his help with some of the dance moves." Kelly adds.

"It will get done honey, hurry down." He walks into the elevator. An hour later, Loren back. "They had so much fun."

"Thanks, they were very happy to see you, let's head down; we have dresses to look through, we need to make arrangements for the video with Eddie."

They walked towards the elevator, Kelly walks ahead of Loren.

Kelly downloads the pictures the designers sent in Jake's computer. "Look through them Loren, pick your favorite 5, Katy said we can choose from your selection."

Loren looks through the pictures one by one. She picks her favorite five, they're very beautiful. The door opens, Danny walks in.

"Good morning, I'm glad you're here." Danny says.

Loren continues to look through the pictures. "Can we talk?" He asks.

"I refuse to continue our conversation from last night."

"It's not about that, I promise, I really need to talk to you."

She looks at him. "About what?" Her eyes go back to the pictures.

"I need to tell you how I feel ..."

She looks at him, precisely at that moment, Eddie walks in, he heard their conversation. His eyes shift towards Danny and back to Loren. "Am I interrupting something?" He asks, he drops the bag he's holding.
