Hawaiian Tour chapter 21
Eddie doesn't move, the noise of cars and trucks driving by bring him back to reality, a painful one. Rick kissed Loren with so much tenderness, that made him realize Rick isn't wasting any time.
He slams the door to his car, that breaks the kiss between them, Eddie walks pass them, he doesn't say a word, Rick knows he's upset.
"Hey Eddie!"
Loren sighs quietly, she looks at Rick, he smiles.
"Where were we?" He asks, he looks at Loren's soft lips. She changes the subject immediately. "I'm excited to drive my new car."
"Let's go, get your keys."
He places his hand on Loren's back and guides her back to Jake and Kelly's office. They find Eddie sitting with Jake. "Glad you're back Loren, Eddie will join you for that weekend in Hawaii."
"That's great." She knows that will be fun, who she kidding!
Rick interrupts. "We need the keys to Loren's new car."
She walks to where Jake's sitting with Eddie, he's quiet. "Will we be traveling together?"
"Yes, you're headed to the same area; you'll use one of the Duran Jets, Eddie you set to go?"
"Yeah, let me know when." He looks at Loren; she avoids making eye contact with him.
"We'll make arrangements later this week." Jake tells them.
Rick's phone rings. "Hello, yeah, I thought it was tomorrow, I'll see you in a few."
He hits the end button and looks at Loren. "Problems with auditions, got to go, are you sure you don't want to give theatre a try?"
"Not now Rick, I want to do this."
He shrugs his shoulders. "I'll call you later Beautiful." He places a soft kiss on her cheek, he walks out. Loren looks at Jake. "If there's nothing else, I'll be on my way."
"Let me get your keys, wait here."
She's alone with Eddie, he sits nearby quiet. She finally asks. "You ok?"
"I'm fine, not as great as you."
She rolls her eyes. "What does that mean?"
"You're acting like the typical celebrity."
"What!"
"You're outside kissing Rick, looks like you want to be the latest news on the internet, Loren Tate caught kissing Rick James!"
"Is that why you're upset?"
He taps his foot on the floor, he clinches his fists. Loren notices. "What is it with you lately, last night at the Grammy's you hardly said one word."
"You spend most last night with Rick, thought I was your date?"
"We were on a date as friends, dates are for people with something more than friendship."
"I guess you don't want to be my friend?"
"I didn't say that, as long as we're friends, we can hang out with others, you left with those girls last night, you don't see me upset!"
"You didn't seem to care; last night was all about Rick."
Loren wants to scream. "I see, if we were on a date, why did you leave with those girls, I did nothing wrong, I danced and spoke to Rick, if I remember correctly, you ignored me all evening."
He looks at her. "I don't want you with anyone."
Loren furrows her eyes. "Excuse me!?"
"Exactly what I said, I don't want you seeing anybody."
"Now you're going to tell me who I can and can't date?"
"I told you no one!"
"Omg you're unbelievable, I don't care what you think or have to say, what are you my father?"
Jake walks in. "Hey Whoa, why are you two yelling? We can hear you two in the back!"
Loren turns towards Jake; she takes the keys from his hands. She's upset. "I'm fine Jake, talk to Mr. Duran!"
She grabs her bag and leaves, she slams the door behind her. Jake turns to Eddie stunned.
"What the hell? Do you know if anyone catches wind of this argument between you two, it could escalate into something huge, taking out of context?"
He turns his back and lets out a huge sigh. "I don't know; I'm sorry we were yelling."
"About what?"
"You didn't notice last night? Rick spend the entire evening with her!"
"And?"
"Is that all you can say?"
"Eduardo, face it, you're in love with Loren, why don't you tell her?"
Eddie doesn't say anything; he looks at Jake. "I don't know."
Eddie stands quietly by the big window in Jake's office. "Just say it, what are you running from? Look how upset you are man" Jake says.
"Maybe I'm being protective of Loren? Jason tried to hurt her."
"No, that's a stupid excuse, what are you afraid off?"
"I don't know, I fell for Chloe like a sick puppy, I thought that was the real deal, who knows how long she was cheating behind my back, I wanted to marry her, all my life I've wanted what my parents have, I don't know if I can come close to it."
"So that's it, you want what your parents have. Nothing's guaranteed Eddie, you can't let what Chloe did to you affect whatever choices you make; you have to give love another chance, Chloe did you wrong, you're giving up?"
Eddie drops at the nearest chair. "I don't know, it kills me to see her with other guys, Danny, and now Rick, I don't want her with anybody!"
"You have to decide, either you care or you don't, let her be happy."
"I'll see you this week." Eddie says.
"You have a trip to Hawaii, think about fixing things."
Eddie walks out without saying another word. He sits in his car thinking about the argument he had with Loren.
A week later, Loren's in a Limo on her way to the airport, the driver drops her off at the gate where the Duran plane is being prepped for the flight.
One of the men in charge takes Loren's luggage. "You may board in few Miss Tate."
She smiles, she gets her small mirror. "Thank you." She retouches her lipstick, she looks beautiful, she has blond highlights, she's wearing Capri leggings, a tank top layered with a colorful scarf, and flip flop sandals.
"You may board Miss Tate, Brenda's making sure you and Mr. Duran have everything you need for the trip."
"Thanks." She takes the stairs to the main entrance of the Jet.
She boards the plane. Brenda sees her. "Welcome Miss Tate, everything is set, Mrs. Duran called, he said you can have the back cabin for privacy, if you need anything else, please let me know."
"Thanks, I will."
Loren makes her way to the back part of the plane. She sits by the window; she looks through a magazine. She hears noises coming from the entrance of the plane.
"Hey Loren, are you here."
"Hi Max, you're flying with us?"
"Just for the ride, I have several meeting in Honolulu, Katy's joining me, of course you know, she has no interest in Hawaii."
Loren laughs. "I'm sure she doesn't."
Katy peeks through the door. "Is he talking about me already?"
"No, of course not." Loren laughs.
"Is Eddie here yet?" Katy asks.
"He called Mrs. Duran, he's on his way." Brenda tells her.
Katy rolls her eyes. "The day he arrives on time, pigs will fly, he was late a week late when he was born."
Loren smiles, she down casts her look. She hasn't seen Eddie since the day of the argument at Jake's office. Eddie confuses her a lot, maybe she should tell him how she feels, maybe she should be the first to talk about her feelings. It's flattering to have Danny and Rick give her all the attention, but, her heart belongs to Eddie. He arrives within 20 minutes, he acknowledges Loren with a smile, he sits a few seats towards the front. Max and Katy are seated in the middle aisles; they don't say a word to Eddie or Loren. Loren reads and makes a few phone calls, one of them to her mom.
They land in Hawaii, Max and Katy take a cab and leave. Loren and Eddie are driven to the Hotel. Fans are waiting to see them. Loren's escorted to her room, Eddie is given the keys to his room.
Kelly waits for Loren. "How was your flight?"
"It was perfect; this view is amazing."
"I arranged for a small tour in a few hours, your wardrobe is already here, the stylist and make-up teams are ready for you, they're in their rooms.
"It's only a weekend Kelly."
"I know, the concert for this weekend is sold out, you have two shows on Saturday and one on Sunday."
"An extra show on Saturday?"
"Yes, first one is at 3 p.m. the final one at 8 p.m. Sunday's concert is at 7 pm."
"Phew, I'm tired just listening to everything I have to do."
Within the hour, several ladies look for Loren, she's taken on a tour, she'll visit the beautiful Honolulu Islands, they stop at several beautiful gardens and state parks, and several shops, a photographer takes several shots of Loren.
Later that evening, she's taken to the arena where the concert will be held. She goes through her list of songs, and dance steps.
She's driven back to the Hotel. Upon arrival she finds several bouquets of Roses waiting in her room.
She knows it's Rick again. "He won't give up." Loren reads the card.
(Miss you terribly, need to see you soon. Love, Rick)
She lets out a small sigh, she walks to the bathroom and enjoys a relaxing bath. The following day seemed to rush for Loren, she has breakfast, the stylist is in her room to fix her hair, she's wearing her hair lose, it cascades down to her shoulders, make-up is next.
She's wearing a strapless colorful dress with Hawaii's native flowers; her sandals are full of tiny flowers all along the sides.
Eddie walks into wardrobe too. He's given jean shorts, sandals and a short sleeve Hawaiian shirt.
"I'm not wearing this!" He tells them.
"Loren isn't complaining."
"Loren looks good in flowers, I'm a guy, I need something without the flowers please?"
"You're going to offend the owner of the Arena; he expects everyone to wear this type of shirt while they're here."
"Ughhhh, what are my fans going to think?"
"You're in Hawaii; they expect to see you in this type of clothing." Jake adds.
"What about my fans worldwide?"
"Come on Eduardo, let's go, your first show is about to start."
Loren's back stage going through her routine. Eddie walks in. "By the way, you expected to do the duets."
"Who's on first?" He asks Jake.
"Loren will do the first hour, you'll be next Eddie, you can do the duets at the end."
He glances towards Loren. "You look amazing."
"Thanks." She looks at him. "You look great."
"You're kidding right? Have you seen what I'm wearing?"
She semi smiles. "What? You're in Hawaii."
"I can't feel my songs dressed this way."
Loren walks towards him. "You can do any song dressed any way, come on don't let that shirt stop you from performing tonight."
"You look hot in that dress, look at me; I look like a flower pot!"
"Eddie stop behaving like a baby, watch and learn, I'm on first, you'll see how easy it is."
"Really? I'm going to be watching you very close."
She bites her lower lip, he winks at her, she's sure this is the night to tell him how she feels; he's behaving like the old Eddie.
Loren's introduced, she walks on stage, she says hello and chats wither fans, she sings her heart out. Eddie starts his set, when he's set done, Loren joins him for their duets, the fans go crazy while they perform, when it comes to their music they're always in sync.
Jake and Kelly wait for them, they have another show in a few hours, Loren goes to her room to freshen up, she's wearing another dress, a bit fancier for the evening show, Eddie's wearing a red short-sleeved shirt.
She can't help but laugh when he walks past her. "Red looks good on you."
"This isn't too bad; I didn't like the first shirt."
They kill the evening performance. After the show, a few fans won the chance to meet and take pictures with them. After they're done, Loren walks back to her room in the Arena to change her clothes, she can't wait to get back to the hotel and talk to Eddie.
Eddie changes in his room too. "Hey handsome, the show was amazing."
He sees Leah standing there. "What are you doing here?"
"I had to see you."
He furrows his eyes. "I never asked you to come."
She wraps her arms around his neck, he tries to pull away, she leans in and presses her lips against his. Loren walks out of her room, she sighs when she sees them kissing.
Loren was going to talk to him, let's see how this plays out! Is there a chance for these two?
