Everyone loves you Chapter 22
Eddie and Leah are interrupted by Kelly; Eddie sees Loren standing there. Leah smiles. "Hi Loren, I came to surprise Eddie."
"That's great." She makes eye contact with Eddie; he can tell she's hurt.
Kelly appears. "Why isn't anyone answering?"
"Are we ready to head back to the Hotel?" Eddie asks, Loren remains quiet.
She gets her bag. "I'll wait inside the Limo."
Kelly turns towards Eddie. "Are you coming?"
Leah smirks and looks at Eddie. "Are we ready?"
He pushes her hands back. "I am; you're not."
"Why?"
"I have to get ready; I have one more show tomorrow."
"Can I come with you, we can have dinner?"
Eddie doesn't say another word; Leah follows him to the limo; Loren sits quietly all the way back to the Hotel.
When they arrive, she and Kelly are first to exit the Limo.
"I made sure they have your favorites Loren; they'll serve dinner on the terrace."
"I'm not hungry."
"I specifically asked the chef to make your favorite dishes."
Leah hangs onto Eddie's arm. "I'm starving."
Kelly rolls her eyes. "You're welcome to stay. Max and Katy will be joining us too."
When they arrive at the Terrace, Katy and Max are already there. "Come on, the food is amazing."
Loren smiles at the sight of Katy. "I'm so happy you're here, thought for sure I'd be here alone."
Katy furrows her eye; she understands when she sees Leah with Eddie. "What is she doing here?"
Loren shrugs her shoulders. "I don't know, she showed after our show ended for the night."
Dinner's served buffet style. There's so much food to choose from. Loren serves her plate and walks back to sit by Katy. Max is busy on the phone.
"He isn't too happy Leah's here." Katy says.
"Looks like he didn't expect her." Loren adds.
Katy picks up on Loren's behavior. "What's wrong?"
Loren picks on her food, eating bits and pieces, not enjoying her dish. "Eddie and I were actually having fun, like old times, I thought we could spend this evening together and talk."
"Can I ask about what?"
"Just talk, we haven't had a conversation since our argument the other day, I thought we could you know, clear the air."
I'd love to find out why my son's so upset?"
Loren hesitates. "He's not saying anything."
"She's not going to stay here; she'll have to find a room elsewhere." Katy adds.
After trying to eat, Loren asks to be excused, she walks back to her room, they have one more show on Sunday evening, she wants to make sure it's all set.
The following morning Loren heads to the gym, she runs into Leah. "Where did you stay?"
She's chewing gum. "Oh Hi, I was able to get a room here, Katy made sure."
"Really?" Loren walks into the gym and steps onto the treadmill. Leah jumps into the pool.
An hour later, Loren walks back to her room. "There you are!"
She turns. "Good morning Katy."
"I'm glad I ran into you; Tina Chios wants to meet with you."
"The designer?"
"Yes, she wants to market a clothing line in your name."
Loren's eyes widen. "Seriously?"
"Yes, I knew it; you're catching the attention of many people."
"Why me?"
"Have you read the tabloids? Everyone loves you, your fans look up to you, what better way than to sell your line of clothing, jewelry sets, your fans want to look like you."
"What should I say?" Loren wonders.
"We say yes; she wants to meet with you in an hour?"
Loren's happy but nervous, this is a big step. "I have to get ready, I was at the gym."
"Go and shower, she's coming to meet with us here."
Loren walks into her room and showers, she's ready before the time Katy requested. She's wearing a hot pink maxi dress that wrapped around her curves perfectly, she matches it with a long necklace and earrings, with the cutest floral sandals. Loren looks in the long mirror that hangs on the closet door. "I think this is Hawaiian perfect."
She turns around to see her back side, she's pleased. "I look great." She wonders where Eddie's at, they'll perform later that evening, maybe it's time to give up on Eddie Duran; this has gone on too long.
A knock on the door brings her back to reality. She finds Mel on the other side. "Hey, what are you doing here?"
They hug, Mel's excited about something. "Look, I had to come and show you in person."
Loren's eyes widen. "Is that what I think it is?"
"Yes, Ian proposed last night, we flew in, I had to tell you."
"Omg Mel, I'm so happy for you two." Loren hugs her, tiny tears roll down her cheeks. "Please don't cry."
"I'm happy for you, Ian's one smart guy, where is he?"
"He's with Eddie." Mel looks at Loren's beautiful dress. "Where are you off too?"
"I'm meeting with Tina Chios; I might have a clothing line in my name."
"That's great; you better get going, I'll wait with Ian, by the way, Phil's wedding is in a month, he needs to talk to you, he wants you to sing the song to their first dance."
"Great, I'll be back, tell him I'd love too."
Loren finds Katy in the lobby, they head to the main hall of the hotel room and meet with Tina Chios.
"I'm so pleased to meet you Loren."
"It's my pleasure Tina."
"I'm sure Katy told you why I wanted to meet with you, here's my portfolio, I've designed some outfits, I would love to have your name on, I also included some jewelry pieces. There's a lot of colorful summer outfits along with swimwear and you've been wearing these types of leggings too, I designed these with you in mind."
Loren smiles while looking through each page carefully. "I love it Tina."
"You can look through it, let me know, we can make some changes if you want, I'd love to have you in my line of clothing, you won't be sorry."
"I love your style, love the comfort of the material you use; I have some of your tops and jeans."
"Now you can have you own line when you perform, or when you're out and about. I can design some gowns for your busy nights."
Loren looks at Katy. "I don't need to look any further."
Tina stands up. "Is this a yes?"
"Yes definitely, where do I sign?"
"I'm thrilled; you are awesome Loren Tate."
Tina pulls her iPad and scrolls through all of the pages where Loren will sign and approve her line of clothing and accessories. "I'll email these to you, I'm sure your lawyer will want to look them over, when you're back in L.A. you can email them back to me."
Loren smiles, and extends her hand towards Tina. "Sounds great, we have a deal."
The talk for a while, Tina leaves, Loren and Katy walk back to the elevators. The doors open, Ian, Mel and Eddie are walking out. Mel shows Katy her ring. "You and Ian?"
"Yes, I'm making an honest man of Ian." Katy hugs them.
Eddie's the first to speak. "We need to celebrate this engagement."
"You have a show tonight."
"We'll do it after the show, we're in Hawaii, we need to celebrate your engagement."
They all agree. Loren spends a few hours with Mel and Ian, Leah takes most of Eddie's time in the lobby, it's 6:30 by the time they leave for the arena. Loren goes straight to wardrobe and make-up. Eddie walks into his dressing room to get ready. They start their show at 7 on the dot. Neither one disappoints their fans, Loren performs beautifully, followed by Eddie's set, their duet at the end. It's after 10, they're on their way to celebrate Melissa and Ian's engagement.
Eddie orders a bottle of champagne for the occasion. Leah shows up. "I'm here."
Everyone can tell Eddie isn't too pleased. "We're celebrating with my friends."
"I'm not a friend?"
She grabs a chair from the next table and places close to Eddie. She leans in to kiss him on the cheek. "I love that cologne you use."
"If you're going to sit here, you have to be quiet." Eddie tells her.
She crosses her leg and looks at Mel. "So you're engaged?"
Mel rolls her eyes. "Yes, that's why we're here."
"When are we going to celebrate our engagement Eddie?"
Loren looks at Eddie's reaction. "I'm not going to do that again."
That confirms Loren's feelings, she's right, he isn't planning on anything serious anytime soon, that's all the proof she needs, who knows how many more girls will be around to entertain him.
Loren takes a sip of her champagne. They're flying back home tomorrow at noon, she needs to stay busy, and out of sight, she's going to be doing a few concerts on her own for several weeks, she needs to stay far away from him, the only way to stop her heart from breaking is too avoid Eddie at any cost.
They enjoy a great dinner, Mel and Ian set a date for a fall wedding, which means they had 3 months to get ready. They leave and are dropped off at the hotel. The following morning everyone has breakfast, Loren notices Leah's still there, she walks to her room to get her things ready to fly back home.
They're at the airport on time, Max and Katy will stay for a few more days. Ian and Mel fly back with Loren, Leah's still trailing Eddie, she tags along everywhere they go. Mel knows Loren's hurting.
"Are you ok?"
Loren sighs. "I have too, look at him, he confuses me so much, he gets upset and tells me he doesn't want me seeing anyone else, then he does this. I was ready to tell him how I felt, you know, maybe it was I who had to say it first, now I'm convinced he doesn't want anything serious with anyone, I want something more, I'm tired of waiting for him to make up his mind."
"I'm sorry, I'm showing off my ring."
"It's not your fault Mel; has Phil decided on a song?"
"He said he wants to talk to you."
"When's the big day?"
Mel cringes. "It's 2 months away; I hope you're free."
Loren sighs. "I should be ok; I won't have any concerts for another 4 weeks."
Mel falls back on her seat. "Thank God, Phil's invitation is at our place."
"Wait you're getting married, which means I'm going to be living alone, it's not like I'm always home, Kelly says I will be touring a lot."
"I can't believe how fast your career is moving, you're everywhere now."
She smiles, slightly blushes. "I'm enjoying it." Loren's phone buzzes. She takes it out of her pocket. "It's Rick."
Mel moves closer. "Really? What does that hunk have to say?"
"See for yourself." Loren shows Mel the text. (Hey beautiful, can't wait to see you, miss you so much.)
"He's crazy about you."
Loren leans on her seat. "I know." Brenda turns on the light to let them know they're landing soon. Loren and Mel are ready to get off the plane. Ian trails behind Mel. You can hear Leah laughing in the background. Loren looks away, she wants off the plane.
Brenda smiles. "There's a car waiting for you Loren."
"I'm not using the Limo?"
The doors to the plane open, Loren steps out, Rick is waiting by a beautiful black Audi, he has a bouquet of roses in his arms. Loren smiles, she runs down the stairs, and walks towards Rick. Eddie appears in the doorway of the plane.
"What's he doing here?"
Mel looks at him. "He knows what he wants."
Eddie watches Rick lean in to kiss her, he suddenly drops down on one knee. Mel, Ian and Eddie are shocked.
How long before Eddie stops the charades and admit who he really loves? R & R guys! This is about to get good!
