Beach Wedding chapter 26
"What are you doing?"
"What does it look like? I love you." He gets down to one knee. "Marry me?"
"Wait what?"
"I love you Loren, I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
She looks at the velvet box; she locks eyes with Eddie; she knows he means every word.
"I need to know, I don't want to wait, let's get married now."
"It's Mel and Ian's wedding!"
"Is that a yes?"
She jumps into his waiting arms and hugs him tight. "Yes, Eddie, Yes!"
He looks into her eyes and down to her lips, they kiss.
"I don't want to wait, let's do this soon, I don't want a huge fuzz, the paparazzi; I want you to be mine."
She blushes taking in every word. "You mean this week?"
"Yes, you and I and our parents."
"What about Ian and Mel?"
"We'll surprise them when they get back, I want to marry you, I don't want anything getting in our way, no Jason, Danny or Rick."
"I don't know what to say." He takes the ring out of the velvet box and places it on her finger. Loren looks at him; a small tear escapes her orbs. He approaches her cautiously. "I'm serious babe, I want to marry you soon."
"Where?" Loren asks.
"We own a home in the Barbados Islands, we can fly there?"
Loren looks at Eddie; she caresses his face. "You're serious aren't you?"
"I've never been more sure and serious in my life."
"Married in a week?"
"Yes, wear a simple Island dress, anything Loren, let's not wait."
"I think it's an amazing idea, do you think our parents will be ok with it?"
Eddie looks around his surroundings. "What's wrong?" Loren wonders.
"I don't want anyone getting a glimpse of what just happened here, I don't need to see this proposal on the news, our wedding will be private, when they find out it'll be too late."
Loren leans on Eddie's chest, she wraps her arms around his neck. "I'm excited to become Mrs. Duran!" She kisses him softly.
"Come on; let's go back in, Mel's coming this way, its picture time."
He holds her hand and they walk back inside. "There you are, come on, Ian and I are leaving for our honeymoon."
"Let's get these pictures taken." Eddie tells her.
A few days later, Loren sits in the terrace of her home. She's getting ready to fly out the next day to Barbados, Katy and Max are excited, Nora's happy for her daughter; she knows their wedding will be very romantic.
The doorbell rings. Loren finds her mom at the door. "I'm happy to see you."
"I thought I'd bring you something."
Nora hands her a large box.
"I hope its ok?"
Loren's curious. "What is it?"
"Open it." Loren sees a beautiful silk dress, it's long, halter style. "Where did you get this?"
"Something I found, it's has an Island theme written all over it, it's simple, just what you need for a beach wedding."
"You're the best mom, I was wondering where to go and get a dress for my secret wedding."
"Now you're set, you can wear simple flowers around your hair, I can't believe we're doing this, are you happy?"
"Of course, I'm going to marry Eddie, I love him mom."
"I know sweetie, come on, let's go and try this dress on."
They head to Loren's bedroom. Eddie's busy getting ready for his flight out to Barbados on the following day too, he stops at a shop.
He's busy looking and doesn't realize who's standing next to him. "You won."
He recognizes the voice, he turns around to face him, he forces a smile. "Hey Danny."
"I won?" Eddie questions.
"You and Loren are dating; it's all over the news."
"And?" Eddie wonders, he's right, he won Loren's heart.
"I hope you realize how fortunate you are."
Eddie rolls his eyes. "I love her, she's my everything, I've been happier."
"I thought for sure Rick would win Loren's heart, I knew it the moment I saw how she looked at you, I hope I get that look one day."
"I'm sure you will, and Rick will find the right girl."
"He's in Europe, he took a role in the UK, he's staying there for good, he can't bear to see Loren with someone else, he really loved her."
Eddie lets out a short sigh. "Listen, I hope you and Rick find the right girl, I'm not apologizing for anything."
"No one expects you too, I'm sure Rick will agree with me, if we ever hear you hurt Loren or you break her heart, you're going to have to deal with us, we wish you the best Eddie."
And with that said, Danny walks away, Eddie's wearing one of his favorite hats and dark glasses, how did Danny recognize him? He pays for his item and leaves, tomorrow will be the best day of his life.
The following day, Loren boards the Duran plane; she's escorted to the back part of the plane by Brenda and Kelly. A few minutes later Eddie arrives, with Max, Katy and Nora. Jake and Kelly are there too; the plane take off to its destination.
Loren tries to relax. "You ok?"
"Yes mom, just a little nervous."
"Are you excited?"
"Of course I am."
"You better eat, as soon as we land, we'll be busy."
"Is Eddie calm?"
"He's talking non-stop, he wants to see you, we told him not until the ceremony."
"I don't see what the big deal is; it's a beach wedding."
"Beach wedding or not, he's not allowed to see yet."
Loren leans on her seat. "Thanks for everything."
Nora smiles, she feels like crying. "For what?"
"You've amazing mom, you raised me by yourself, you worked hard to give me everything I needed, you're positive, encouraging, I owe you my happiness."
Nora pulls her into a hug. "Thank you for being an amazing daughter, you made my job very easy, I love you sweetie."
They hug and shed happy tears, she's happy because her daughter will marry the man she's loves. It's going to be a beautiful beach wedding.
The plane lands on isolated area of the airport in Barbados, a waiting car drives them to the Duran mansion, it's a secluded area, perfectly settled by the beach.
Katy takes Loren to one of the many bedrooms in the mansion. "This will be your room, it's in the farthest wing in the house, it has a huge bathroom, you and Eddie can use the small kitchenette, the phone on that table is connected to the kitchen, Eddie knows how to use all of these gadgets.
"It's a beautiful room Katy, are you sure we can use this area?"
"Yes, I want you and Eddie to have some privacy on your honeymoon; we'll be on the other end, no worries."
"Thanks for everything Katy."
Katy offers Loren a chair. "You're very welcome."
"I can't imagine where I'd be if I hadn't met you." Loren adds.
"You did this on your own Loren, the moment I heard you sing, I knew you were going to be successful."
"I can't believe that was 2 years ago."
"You're a successful pop artist, I want to welcome you to our family, we love you Loren."
"Thank you Katy, I love you and Max." She blushes. "I love Eddie very much."
"You two will be very happy, I'm thrilled it's you."
"Sometimes I think I'm dreaming."
"I knew he'd come to his senses, you're the perfect girl for my son."
They hug, Katy steps out, Loren takes a shower, she wears her silky robe, she looks in the mirror, her hair will be wavy for her wedding.
Loren's team is also there, they will help her get ready for her wedding, the stylist helps Loren with her hair, she places small flowers all around her hair, her make-up will be light, a tint of gloss on her lips. Nora walks in with another box.
"This is for you from Mel."
Loren furrows her eyes. "From Mel?"
"Don't ask me how she knows about today, but, you're not to open it until tonight."
Loren sighs. "Om, that girl is on top of everything."
"It's time to put your dress on honey."
Loren puts on the beautiful silk dress that flows perfectly on her body.
"It's perfect."
"You look very beautiful honey." Nora holds back tears. "I refuse to cry; I can't ruin my make-up." Nora says.
"We can't cry, is Eddie ready?"
"He's been ready since this morning, he's very excited, he keeps looking at her watch." Nora tells her.
Loren walks to the window. Flowers surround the small platform they're using for their ceremony. Loren turns towards her mom. "Who's going to marry us?"
"Don't worry, Kelly's getting the town mayor, he performs all the weddings in the island."
Loren shows off her sandals, they're covered in daisies and bling. "I'm ready mom."
"Let me check if we're ready to start."
Nora takes the stairs that lead to the room where Max, Katy and Eddie are waiting.
"How's Loren?" Eddie asks.
"She's ready."
Eddie walks towards the door, he looks outside, he's nervous. "What's wrong?" Katy asks.
"Kelly's taking too long."
"Jake's with her, they're probably waiting on the judge, I called him before we left LA, I asked him to perform the ceremony."
He closes the door behind him. "I don't hear any helicopters roaming the skies, I'm sure we tricked everyone."
Max leans on his chair. "Relax, no one knows we left LA, I'm sure Jake and Kelly took care of everything."
"Today is Loren's day, I don't want cameras flashing in her face, paparazzi hovering over the wedding, I want a perfect wedding for her."
Katy picks up a towel from the coffee table and gestures Eddie to come towards her. "Let me fix your shirt, you look very handsome."
Eddie smiles; his mom's trying to distract him. "It's a gift from Nora."
"It's the perfect beach apparel for a wedding."
"You did a great job Nora, even though my son gave us a weeks'."
"It's a beach theme wedding; I found the perfect ensemble for Loren and Eddie."
Eddie walks towards the door again, Katy stops him. "Honey, please relax, everything's going to be ok."
"I know, I know I keep repeating the same thing over and over, I want today to be about Loren, she deserves it."
Nora hugs Eddie. "Thank you for making my daughter happy, I've never seen her this excited."
"I should be thanking you Nora, I owe you my happiness, I thought I'd never experience this again, I know this is how I'm supposed to feel."
The door opens, Kelly peeks inside. "We're set to go, the judge is here, Jake's taking him to the podium, we're ready for you and Loren."
Eddie let's out a huge sigh. "Yikes! This is really going to happen."
Max walks towards Katy, he extends his hand, they walk outside.
Nora looks at Eddie. "Go and take your place, I'll get Loren."
Loren paces the floor. "Mrs. Loren Duran, I like that sound of that."
Nora walks in. "It's time, are you ready?"
There's a knock on the door, both ladies turn to see who it is. Loren's eyes widen.
"You're here!"
