Don't leave me! Chapter 28

Eddie gets the card from the floor. He furrows his eyes, it reads. "I'm not done with you Duran!"

Loren sits in disbelief. "Jason said those words to you."

"He's in Jail!" Eddie gets his phone. He calls Max and Jake; he tells them about the delivery. Loren sits quietly, she's worried, why is Jason coming back into their lives?

The Police will investigate, there's a clerical error, Jason was released from prison, they don't know about his whereabouts, Eddie refuses to let this situation get in the way of their lives, he will tour the southern States. They're in that area for 8 weeks, Loren starts to work on her second album, even though she's worried, she's inspired to write more songs.

A week later, Loren and Eddie tour the Midwest and spend another 8 weeks there. Now that they're married, fans are more supportive, they love Loren and Eddie, their concerts are always SOLD OUT they have to add an extra two weeks.

They fly back home. "Can we have a break from touring?" Loren asks.

"Don't worry babe, I spoke to Jake, we'll be home for several months, I want to spend more time with my girl."

"I'm feeling neglected." Loren teases.

Eddie smiles. "I see, what shall we do?"

He leans in to kiss her; she sits on his lap.

Loren bites her lower lip, she stands up and flirts.

"I think I'll shower now, I'm tired and very sleepy."

He scoops her up and they head upstairs. "Don't you dare Eddie!"

"We'll wait until the water warms up!" Eddie smirks.

"Oh no! I'm still wearing my clothes." Loren yells out, they laugh on their way to the shower. "It was your idea Mrs. Duran."

Later that evening…..

Mel stops by. "I can't believe what I'm about to say, I've missed you!"

"I know, I'm unforgettable." Mel says.

Loren sits on the couch next to her. "Anything new?"

"Are you ready? Guess who just had a baby?"

Loren narrows her eyes. "Who?"

Mel looks around. "Where's Duran?"

"He's with Jake, why?"

"Chloe had a baby boy a few weeks ago."

"I'm shocked; I can't picture her with a baby." Loren says. "Who did she trap?"

"She won't say whom she married or who's the father, that baby is so cute, he's got blonde hair and blue eyes."

Loren gets her phone; she scrolls through the pages of Gossip online. "I'm surprised it's not Tyler."

Mel laughs. "That ended when Eddie found out, everyone assumes the father of her baby is one of the directors of that movie she had a small part in."

"The low budget film? I'm glad she has a baby to keep her busy." Loren says.

"Chloe a mother!? Doubtful, I'm sure she's making big bucks, bet that director is rich, reason why she married him."

Loren rolls her eyes. "Come on, I'm going to make dinner, you're welcomed to stay."

"Maybe another day, I'm on my way to the Dr."

"You ok?"

"I think I am, I missed my period."

Loren's eyes widen. "Omg Mel?"

"I don't know, it'd be great, Ian and I have been married 9 months."

"You're going to be a great mommy, you'll see, I'm sure Ian will be thrilled."

"He doesn't know yet, want to make sure before I say anything."

"Are you're nervous?" Loren asks.

"Yeah a little, but, I'm excited too."

"I'm excited for you too." Loren tells her.

Mel gets her bag and hugs Loren. "Are you going to stick around for a while?"

"Yes, Eddie and I agreed to relax for several months, before I release my second album."

"How's that going?"

"I need two more songs; I'm working on a very special song; I'm going to dedicate to Eddie."

Mel looks at Loren. "I bet it's a romantic song"

"It's for him, and what he means to me, he's a great romantic hubby."

"Are you going to share?" Mel asks.

"Of course not, I'd never ask about Ian and you."

"I'm not the one married to the sexist Rock Star in L.A. It's got to be pretty special."

Loren glares at her friend. "It's amazing, that's all I'll say; now go, don't forget to call me."

"Muah!" Mel blows her a kiss and walks out.

Later that night….

Mel calls Loren. "You sure you're ok? It'll eventually happen you know, call you tomorrow, love you too."

Eddie walks back into the room with two glasses of wine in his hands. "What was that about?"

"I guess I can tell you, Mel thought she was pregnant, she saw the Dr. it's a no."

"I can't imagine Ian and Mel with a baby?"

She's surprised at what he said. "Why?"

"I don't mean they'll be bad, they're both goofy in their own special way, I guess a baby would make them mature too fast."

Loren takes one of the glasses from Eddie's hand and takes a sip. "Really? What about us?"

"Now there's a difference, you're the opposite of Mel; I think we're perfect."

She smiles biting her lower lip. "We've been so busy; I haven't given that a thought; do we have time for a child?"

Eddie snuggles close to her. "I think we could, my parents did great, the only thing I want to do different is have more than one child."

Loren caresses his face and looks intensely into his beautiful brown eyes. "I know that, I hated being an only child, I always wanted a sibling, then I met Mel, we're like sisters, I love it."

He kisses the tip of her nose. "We agree on two… She smiles. "I think so."

He holds her and kisses her again, they slip to the floor and continue to kiss.

A few weeks later, Eddie and Loren are having a meet and greet with the fans, it's their way of saying thank you to their amazing fans.

Loren and Eddie pick a special place for that, it's where they performed their first hit.

Loren's in the back getting a variety of drinks for the fans, they will arrive later that afternoon.

Kelly walks in, Loren sees her. "I've recorded the last two songs, it's a go, my album is ready, you and the label need to review it."

"Great, let's get together next week and go over the songs, make sure the recordings are done on time, once it's released, you'll tour parts of California to promote it?"

"I know how it's done."

"You ok?" Kelly asks.

"I love being home with Eddie, it's just him and I."

"You won't tour too long this time, a few select cities in the area."

Loren continues to get the drinks ready. Kelly notices she's too quiet. "I know something's wrong?"

Loren looks at Kelly.

"What if we want to have a baby? Can we with our hectic schedule?"

"I'm sure you'll manage Loren, I thought I wouldn't be able to do it, then we had twins, it's hard, your schedule is a lot crazier than mine, if it happens we'll work around it."

"Speaking of twins…how are the boys?"

"Can you believe Pre-k?"

"I miss those two; it was a fun taking care of them."

"Stop by anytime, they always ask about their favorite nanny."

Jake peeks through the door. "We're opening the doors within 20 minutes, you ready Loren?"

She places all the drinks on a tray, she smiles. "All set!" She flashes two fingers at Jake.

"Eddie's running late, are we surprised? I thought he was coming with you Loren?"

"He should be here by now; did you call him?"

"I did, it went directly to voicemail, if he's not here by the time we start, I'm sending one of the drivers to get him."

Loren looks at her watch. "He probably at Katy's."

Kelly's busy looking through her iPad. "He'll be here soon, the day he's on time I won't know what to do with him."

Loren laughs. "I know, I'll give him 5 more minutes, then I'm calling Katy."

Back at the Duran's….

"Honey, shouldn't you be at the meet and greet by now?"

"Yeah, I'm leaving soon, I came to get my pictures, Loren thought a collage of my first years would be a great treat for the fans while I sit and sign autographs and chat with them."

Eddie lets out a huge sigh. Katy hugs him from behind. "I'm very proud of you."

"Thanks, I'm proud of me too."

"Are you blushing?" Katy teases.

He looks at his mom. "I don't know mom, I find myself smiling every minute, especially when I have that beautiful brunette in front of me."

"I'm happy for you both; you realize it'll be a year very soon."

"I know, I want to make our 1st anniversary very special for Loren, I love her so much, I don't want to think what my life would be like without her."

Katy smiles. "I'm happy to see you this happy, just like us."

"I know, thanks." He looks at his watch. "I better go; Jake will have my head if I'm late."

"Is Loren there?"

"She's been there for a while, preparing some treats for the fans."

Katy shoves Eddie towards the door and hands him his keys. "Go, don't keep Loren or the Madsen's waiting."

"When will I ever be on time?" He mutters while walking towards his car. "Love you honey!"

"Love you too mom."

Meanwhile….

Loren looks at her watch, she gets her cell phone. She smiles when she hears Eddie's voice. "Thank God, Jake's freaking out, he was about to go and get you himself."

"I'm on my way babe, stopped at mom's to pick up those pictures you wanted."

"You have 5 minutes to get here."

"I'll be there, love you babe."

Loren blushes, he has that effect on her. "I love you more."

She hits the end button and carries the rest of the snacks to the area where she and Eddie will be sitting. She sees Jake and smiles. "He'll be here soon Jake, just spoke to him."

Jake nods his head and rolls his eyes. "You know the day he gets anywhere on time is the day this world ends."

Loren cringes. "Don't say that Jake."

Mel walks in. "I'm here to help, what can I do?"

Loren places the last of the snacks on the table. "We're ready, waiting on Eddie; he'll be here soon."

"I'm sure he's around the corner. Ian's parking, he will be here to help."

"There's a line of girls out there, I see some guys too."

Ian parks, he sees Eddie's car towards the back of the building. He heads his way to surprise his friend. Jason's hiding, he wants to catch Eddie alone, he parks behind the building to avoid the fans, Eddie wants to surprise them inside.

Jason does the unthinkable, he's obsessed with Loren, he's never gotten over losing her to Eddie, he attacks Eddie from behind, he hits him with the object in his hand, Eddie falls to the ground bleeding. Ian's eyes widen, he saw what Jason did and yells out. "Stop! Jason!"

He runs, Jason looks at him. "I told everyone I wasn't done, he thought he won the day he married Loren!"

Eddie lays on the floor bleeding, he's not moving. "Are you crazy?" Ian approaches Eddie.

Jason runs and drops the huge pole he held in his hand. Ian yells out. "Someone help; Eddie can you hear me?"

He gets up and runs to the back door banging on it as hard as he can. Someone finally opens the door. Kelly's standing there. "What's wrong?"

Ian can't speak. "Jason attacked Eddie, call 911."

Kelly's horrified. "Oh my God, Loren's inside."

Loren comes running to the door after hearing all of the screams, Kelly calls for help from her phone.

Loren's look changes to fear. "What's wrong Ian?"

"Eddie's hurt; Kelly's calling the paramedic's!"

Loren pushes Ian out of the way, she sees Eddie laying on the floor lifeless. "No!"

She kneels next to him crying, Mel comes to the door and sees Loren sobbing next to Eddie, she drops to the floor next to her.

"Help is on the way! " Loren can't stop crying. "I'll die if I lose him!" She kisses Eddie on the forehead, she softly whispers. Don't you dare leave me; I love you!"

Mel turns to where Ian stands speechless, there's blood on his clothing, his eyes tear watching Loren cry while she holds Eddie. "Please don't die, I need you!"
