Prison Incident Reportedly Involves Two Kennesaw Area Men
By Anna Garza
Today, Georgia Bureau of Prisons spokesperson Eric Raleigh revealed that two Kennesaw area individuals were questioned in relation to an incident occurring July 22. William Dixon and his son Merle Dixon were detained by prison officials long enough to give statements regarding two incidents of assault. Inmates Edward Peletier and Douglas McGee were reportedly assaulted by a large group of prisoners in the exercise yard on July 22. Both Dixon men were in the yard at the time of the assault. It was hoped that the Dixon men would be able to provide useful information of the assault before their August 1st parole date. However, no further information was gleaned from the men who stated that there was too much activity to tell who initiated and participated in the assaults. Security camera footage was revealed of the incident, but the assault occurred in a rare blind spot, with officials being unable to ascertain the identities of those involved. A prison official thanked both Dixon's for their cooperation in the matter. The two men have since been released and have returned to the Kennesaw area.

Tara walked up the driveway of the completely restored Victorian home one December afternoon. All of Carol and Daryl's friends had helped finish the restoration work within six months of Carol arriving in Kennesaw. It was a beautiful sight, a home pulled back to its former glory. Carol had turned the backyard into luscious flower gardens, and a new porch swing now adorned the front porch of the blue and white home. The fleur de lis adorning the corners of the exterior had all been restored. People were often taken aback by the home's beauty, and real estate agents often stopped by trying to convince Daryl to sell the property. It would never happen though. This was their home now, not just a house.
She couldn't allow herself to get that tied up in that today though. She had come there today to deliver two very important items, but as she walked through the door, she couldn't help but stop and appreciate all the work that had been done.
The original woodwork gleamed; the walls all painted. Baseboards had been redone, and the ceilings refurbished. Carol, as it turned out, had a fabulous eye for design. The chosen furniture and decorations completed the cozy home. As she walked through the main living room, echoes of all their friendly gatherings and work sessions bounced in her memory. Just the other day, Judith had taken her first assisted steps with Eugene's help in the grand hallway.
As she completed the climb to the second story, she looked into the expanded bedrooms. With walls taken down and the hallway widened, there was certainly a greater amount of natural light invading the space. Two larger bedrooms had come in handy when the long restoration nights turned into overnights. Friends crashed in whatever rooms they had been working in when going home was just too much of a bother. Tara was pretty sure it was in one of those rooms that Glenn and Maggie had conceived their newly discovered bundle of joy. Eight months from now there would be a littlest Rhee. And that wasn't all. Tara climbed the last flight of stairs. She was expected, but still made extra noise so she wouldn't startle Carol and Daryl, or worse yet walk in on them doing stuff. She had already made that mistake once. When she was fully up the steps, she looked around.
The final touches of the attic space were now in place. The master bedroom was spacious, and a king-sized bed had replaced the queen bed that Carol had up here originally. The walls were a light luscious champagne color with russet accents in bedding, and wall art. Her friends now enjoyed a full master bath complete with an extra-large jacuzzi tub and walk in shower. The walk-in closet was lighted and spacious, a space that the fashion-conscious Michonne was begging Rick to recreate in their own home. The sitting room area off the bedroom shared the same champagne color. It was smaller than originally planned, but still fit a russet-colored love seat, an extra deep russet chair, a coffee table and a set of built-in bookcases. The extra space originally planned for the sitting room had been sacrificed for the addition of a nursery. Still too soon to tell the sex of their baby, Daryl and Carol had painted the nursery walls a delicious looking gender-neutral shade of sage green.
When Tara finally entered the bedroom area, there was Carol, in all her pregnant glory. She was three months along, and just beginning to show. She had been happily divorced for four months and was planning for the arrival of her and Daryl's child. The woman was happy with her life in Kennesaw, and it showed in the bright smile she had ready for everyone.
Daryl was in the nursery, preparing for the arrival of the crib mobile that Tara was bringing over. Apparently, Carol had seen it and fell in love, so Daryl had wanted to surprise her by getting it. Tara had picked it up and brought it over. When Carol saw it, she immediately broke out in hormone-fueled happy tears. That gave Tara the opportunity to covertly slip Daryl the other package she carried. He quickly stashed the velvet lined box and went to comfort his love.
He couldn't wait until tonight. She and this baby were his life. And tonight, he was going to ask her to make it official. He was planning the evening to perfection, all leading up to him on bended knee asking her for forever. He could do no less when it came to her. They had quickly become each other's everything. He knew that no amount of time would change that. He had her. They had each other. Forever. What began as a violent incident had turned into an affair of the heart. The love that grew from that had forever changed their lives. He relished in that love and would give nothing less to her in return. They were each other's heart's desire.
