Life is beautiful chapter 36

Eddie picks Aiden up and signals Loren to take Mel to the other room for privacy. Loren hugs her friend and guides her into the living room.

"What's wrong? Is Ian ok?"

"I was at the Dr.'s, I didn't want to say anything until I was sure, I'm 8 weeks pregnant, the Dr. distinctively said he heard more than one heart beat."

"Are you serious? Is he going to do an ultrasound?"

"What am I going to do? Yes, he's going to schedule one."

"You'll do nothing, you'll tell Ian and you'll enjoy this part of your life, babies are a lot of work, and a huge blessing, I'm enjoying Aiden very much."

"You have only one, I might be having two, things like this would only happen to Mighty Mel!"

Loren laughs, she gives Mel a tight hug. "You're going to be amazing, come join us for breakfast, I'll go with you when you have the ultrasound done, then you can surprise Ian with the news."

"What if he runs away"

"He'll do no such thing; he's going to be thrilled."

A few days later, Loren's with Mel for her ultrasound, it's confirmed, Mel and Ian are going to have twins!

Loren and Eddie are off to Texas for a few months. They perform for several weekends and their shows are always sold out.

Eddie's thrilled. They're on top of the world; motherhood hasn't stopped Loren from becoming an amazing performer.

Upon her return, she's with Mel again, she will find out the sex of the babies.

"Why isn't Ian here for this?" Loren questions.

"He knows I'm pregnant, he doesn't know they're twins."

Loren's shocked. "You didn't tell him?"

"No, if they're boys, he'll be thrilled!"

The technician walks into the room. "Are you ready Mrs. Mitchell?"

"As ready as I'll ever be." Mel says while biting her lower lip.

She starts the ultrasound. "Let's hope we can see the sex of these babies."

The technician moves the probe to see if she can see.

"I see one girl, let's try the other baby."

Mel keeps her eyes on the screen. "Could it be a boy?"

"It could be, I see another girl, you're having two girls!"

Mel's quiet. Loren can't believe the news of twin baby girls has Mel in silent mode.

"You ok?"

Mel looks at her. "Two girls, how can I handle two girls?"

"We're going home right now, you're telling Ian!"

"That's easy for you to say, you only had one!"

Loren waits for Mel to get dressed. "We're going to see Ian."

"Right now? What about Aiden?"

"He's with Katy and Max today, let's go."

Before they get into the car, Loren texts Eddie about her plans, he texts back he'll meet her at Mel and Ian's place.

Eddie's waiting when they arrive. "What happened?"

Loren rolls her eyes. "You and I know Mel's having twins."

"Yeah and?"

"Apparently Ian doesn't know they're twins, we just found out both babies are girls."

Eddie laughs out loud. "You're kidding right?"

"I don't know how to tell him we're having two babies."

Loren crosses her arms. "He has to know; do you want to give him a heart attack in the delivery room?"

"By then he won't skip town on me!" Mel teases.

Eddie can't stop laughing. "What makes you think he'll take off?"

"Ian's special Eddie, he has to deal with me, imagine two more like me?"

"He's going to love them as much as he loves you, come on; Loren and I will be with you when you break the news to him." Eddie tells her.

They walk into Mel's place. Ian's asleep on the couch. Mel bites her lower lip.

"Look at him, very peaceful and happy, his world is about to change."

Loren smiles, she makes eye contact with Eddie. She whispers. "How would you feel if I had to tell you I'm having twins?"

Eddie smiles. "Excited and extremely happy!"

"See! I'm sure Ian will be thrilled too." Loren tells Mel.

Ian wakes up and finds them looking at him. "How long have you been standing there?"

"Long enough to see you drooling." Eddie smirks.

"Hey, I don't drool!" Ian gets up.

Loren's the first to speak. "Mel has something to share with you."

"Oh she does?" He looks at her; her baby bump is very noticeable and seems bigger each day, she's barely 5 months along.

Mel smiles. "I had an Ultrasound today."

He narrows his eyes at her. "Why wasn't I included?"

Loren holds Eddie's hand and they walk away. "I need you and Eddie to stay!" Mel tells them.

They stop. "Are you sure? We could wait in the kitchen?"

"No! You made me come here and tell him, now you stay."

Ian's confused. "Ok you two, what's going on? Is the baby ok?"

"Yes Ian, the babies are ok!"

"Did you just say babies?"

Mel closes her eyes and shrugs her shoulders; she feels very warm and it's rushing all over her body.

"Yes, we're having twins and they're both girls!"

"Are you sure? This is amazing!" Ian tells her.

He hugs and kisses her, Loren and Eddie walk out quietly, they know there's going be some sort of celebration.

"Don't ever keep anything like that from me." Eddie tells Loren.

Loren leans in. "I would never do such a thing." She kisses with a teasing look.

"You can't do that Loren!".

Loren bites her lower lip. "First one home prepares a bubbly bath." She winks at him.

"Hey you're on babe!" He rushes to his car.

Loren can't find her keys. "Ugh, he's going to win." She laughs, and finds her keys.

Eddie gets home first; he rushes into their master bathroom.

Loren trails behind him. "Ok Mrs. Duran, I won, I get to set the rules."

"Oh really?" She gives him a sexy smile.

"Yes, I'll pick the bubble bath aroma, you get in first, and I get to see you undress."

Loren blushes. Eddie smiles. "You're blushing again."

"I think I'll always blush when it comes to you, I love you."

She places a seductive kiss on his neck. "You ready?"

"Ahhh oh yeah!" Eddie says.

Within minutes, they share a very romantic bubble bath, that leads them to their bedroom, several hours later, they're awoken by the doorbell.

Eddie puts his robe on. "Who's at the door."

It's Katy and Max with Aiden. "I think you forgot about your son."

Loren hides behind Eddie, she ties her robe. "Sorry, we got sort of busy and …"

Max looks at his son. "No need to explain, we don't mind having Aiden with us, we have no food."

Katy walks in. "We'll get his food, and leave you to resume whatever it was you're were doing."

"Mom!" Eddie tells her and guides her back to the door.

Katy rolls her eyes. "Oh please, your son is almost a year old, he doesn't know what I mean!"

Loren laughs. "Now look who's blushing?"

Loren and Eddie continue to tour, they're heading to Europe for several months, when they return Mel gives birth to her daughters. Two healthy beautiful girls they name. "Isabella and Yasmin."

"They're beautiful Mel." Loren tells her while she wipes the happy tears.

Ian can't stop looking at them. "I'm going to be a busy daddy with two beautiful girls to look after!"

"And why is that?" Eddie asks.
"There will be no dating for these two! Keep Aiden away from them."

Loren laughs. "Oh my goodness, they're only a few hours old, you're already talking about dating?"

"Yes especially around your son, have you seen him flirt with any girl that crosses his path? He's a true Duran for sure; he's not allowed to look at my girls ever!"
Eddie laughs. "You're kidding right?"

"No, I'm very serious mate; wait until you have a daughter, then you'll know what I mean!"

Eddie looks at Loren, he tugs her softly, again she blushes.

"I'll see you at home." Loren adds.

"We'll see you guys later." Eddie adds.

Loren hugs Mel. "If you need anything, call me."

"I will, thanks for the gifts."

"Love you Mel!"

"Love ya more Lo."

When they step outside, Eddie carries his beautiful wife. "What are you doing?"

"I made arrangements, Nora's home with Aiden, it's our weekend!"

"What are you saying?"

"We're off for this weekend, you and I Babe!"

"Really?" Loren smiles.

"Yes, I spoke to Jake and Kelly, no tours for a while, we'll can do some local concerts, my third album is about to drop, we're set for several months at home with our son."

"I'm all yours!" Loren teases.

"Watch what you say babe, I may take you up on that!"

Loren leans in to kiss him, she wraps her arms around his neck, their kiss deepens. A few hours later, they're at the coziest Inn, Eddie got a hold of a very private Inn for their weekend.

They spend two amazing nights together, Eddie loves to cuddle in bed with Loren and his favorite part, and wake up with Loren tightly nuzzled beside him.

Nine months after that amazing weekend, Loren has a beautiful baby girl they name Sofia. Eddie's thrilled, Aiden wants to see his baby sister.

"This is Sofia your little sister."

Aiden smiles, he's 2 years old. He places a kiss on her forehead. "She's Sofia Daddy?"

"Yes, that's her name." He sits next to Loren, he picks Aiden up, he wants to be close to mommy and his baby sister.

"She's very beautiful babe." He kisses her softly.

Loren pulls away. "We got into trouble last time, no kissing." She smiles big and winks at him.

"Trouble? Why would you say that? We have our son and a beautiful baby girl."

"I know, an unexpected blessing for sure."

"We made her with so much love!"

Loren blushes. "You're too much."

"You're stuck with me; are you ready to continue this amazing journey with me?"

"Of course, I wouldn't have it any other way, I love you more than I could ever imagine." Loren assures him.

"We're on the same page, get ready, you and our beautiful children is all we will ever need, we're complete Babe."

Loren kisses him softly. "I agree with Ian." Eddie adds.

"What do you mean?" Loren laughs.

"No boys allowed near my princess."

Loren laughs. "Oh boy! Let's enjoy our daughter, and worry about boys later."

Eddie snuggles beside Loren, Aiden climbs on top of them, he sits on Eddie's lap, he's holding Sofia with his other arm. Katy and Max walk into their private suite along with Nora, is there something more she'll need from life?

She looks around the room, she realizes she has everything she'll ever need in front of her, life is beautiful.
