::I know it seems foreign, but for you, I would be vulnerable, coz when you were gone, I came to know you were the thing that was keeping me strong::

He was completely clueless about what to say? How to tell her that they have a daughter? He was just there silent, he would rather not answer. He recalled Freya's words that if Hayley knew it would lead to her breakdown. But he had to say something. So he would tell her his story. A way of giving her, her memories in an unknowing form.

She couldn't believe it, that this man has daughter, he surely did not look father type."

"Yes," Klaus said. She was shocked. "Really,? But then why are you here? Do you have a family? A wife?"

"No, I mean yes I have family, but don't worry love, I am not married." "But you have a child. In those vampire lessons you were giving me, you told me we can't reproduce." "But I am a hybrid."

"Oh." "She thinks perhaps in hybrids it must be different." She needed to recover from what she had heard so she just went into her room." Klaus just watched her go because he had nothing else to do.

Hayley was sitting in her room thinking that, she had lost her memories, she was a supernatural creature and she was in this state with a hybrid who is thousand years old and has a daughter. wow! How did you live Hayley Marshall?

The next morning, Hayley again went to the living room, hoping Klaus would be there. And he was indeed there. Sitting on the sofa, reading a book. The hybrid reads too, she thought.

"Klaus?"

"Yes, Hayley?"

"Aren't we going out today?" Hayley asked hoping to talk to him.

"Maybe we will."

She just stands there thinking if she should ask him about his family. Then she asks him, "Tell me about your daughter." Klaus looks at her surprised.

"Hayley, I am sorry but no, I don't want to talk about it."

"Please tell me something, perhaps you can tell me about her mother. Klaus chokes when he hears that.

He thinks about what he should tell about her. Then Hayley asks him with a teary face, "I don't remember anything, when I woke up I was a monster and I am living with a thousand years old vampire sorry hybrid. I deserve to know about him."

Oh my dear Hayley, if only you remembered everything.

Then he comes up with something. "You really want to know?" He thinks Perhaps telling her this may bring her memories back. "Fine, then I'll tell you. What do you want to know?" " Her name? How did you guys meet?"

"Her name was Andrea." He came up with the name Andrea, afterall it was her birth name. I was in Mystic Falls to break my hybrid curse and also make more hybrids. She unsired my hybrids. I met her at a friend's house. She was beautiful."

"Was it love at first sight sort of thing?"

"No_ It was never love."

"Oh" She could see with how bitterness he was speaking.

"She was searching for something, for family. One day she came to me for help in exchange for information about of one my enemy. She was quite clever. She knew exactly what to do, what to say. It took me a while to notice it, but she had a different type of aura. She engulfed me inside her with it. That night we had sex and in the morning she was gone. Well, afterall instead of her giving me info I was the one who gave her. After weeks I was called in New Orleans where I came to know she was pregnant but I couldnt accept that pregnancy and I still hate it that i couldnt do it at the start."

All the memories come flashing to him. So he thinks its enough and he would rather go outside. "I have told you enough, little wolf. I think we should go out now." She didn't reply, just nodded. His story felt nice but familiar, it felt to her as if some kind of deja vu. Her memories were not returning but she could say it was something familiar.

They were walking down the streets again. Klaus wanted to take her to an Art gallery. Hayley being Hayley still could not be that deep in art. Still, she would like to see him paint. They entered the Art Gallery. The paintings were beautiful. A lady was staring at pictures in which Klaus seemed interested too. He went towards that lady and started talking to her.

Hayley was just standing there observing him. It annoyed her that he was with her, why did he have to go and talk to other people when she was there. And then he was laughing. She felt as if she would never understand him. Little did she know she was the only one who could ever understand him completely.

After he was done talking, he came back to Hayley and smiled at her annoyed expression. Would Hayley with memories be jealous of some other woman? She huffed at him. Really, why are you smiling? Nothing love. She just looked at him and headed out of the gallery. As the days passed, the way he took care of her, she thought maybe he and her had something. Then she came to know about his daughter and wife, or whatever she was.

Then Klaus said, interrupting her thoughts, "Interested in food, little wolf?". She nodded and smiled. They fed on some tourists. He would always watch her feed on others. It excited him. He would always watch her, like the first time he took her to feed.

They were heading back to their place through the back alley where there were not many people. As they were walking, a witch came in front of them and snapped Hayley's neck through her chantings.

Klaus rushed towards the witch and was just going to kill her when she saw, her spell melted Hayley's ring and she was just going to burn. Klaus sped towards Hayley and brought her into a shed. "She isn't supposed to live." and the witch went away but Klaus stood with Hayley.

He compelled the Cafe owner to let them stay there till dark. It was as if everything was lost in seconds. Hayley wasn't waking up, maybe the witch's spell did something. He bit into his wrist and gave her his blood. It was what he always did, he could not do anything else. He felt it all again what if she dies again.

"No No, Hayley, Hayley not again, you cannot die again, love. Please. " He was just sitting on the table holding her body, and then with loud gasp, she woke up. He helped her sit properly and hugged her.

"Hayley, love you are alright. It's fine. It's fine." he still wasn't letting go of her. Klaus Mikaelson was so vulnerable right now, that you could just go and rip his heart out and he won't even notice. Hayley was flushed with the embrace. He finally pulled away from the hug.

Then with a cranky voice, and tears in her eyes, she spoke, "I felt like-.. like... my body burning into lava, the fire. It all felt familiar. It felt as if I was losing." Klaus exactly why was she feeling this way."Klaus was never good at comforting someone but somehow he comforted Hayley. He was the only one who could ever comfort her.

And now until the night, they had to stay in this Cafe. He let her feed on someone. There were hardly any people in the cafe, and the owners and workers were compelled by Klaus.

Klaus said that he had to make a call and he called Freya.

"Hello brother, I was going to call you today too"

"Freya, something happened today." Freya asked with concern.

"Is everything alright Klaus?"

"Hayley almost got burned again. The witches know about her." Freya gasped upon hearing this but she had to tell him something,

"I have found a way through which you can undo her vampire curse and she could be a hybrid again." He would never let her feel the pain he felt ll those years when he was binded as a vampire. She doesnt rememeber now but he knows how much she loves being a all he could atleast be relieved by the thought that sun wont burn her.

"Tell me about it." "I know a witch in Rome who can help you. I contacted her and she can be trusted."

"But-"Freya cut him off and spoke,

"Also brother, for the spell you will need Hope's blood, and for that, I think Caroline can bring it."

"Thank you, sister." "I will message you the address, take care of her."

"Also sister, please dont tell anything about this to Hope. I dont want her to worry, I want her to be content knowing both her parents are alive and safe."

"Goodbye, brother."

After the call, Klaus walked towards Hayley. She was still feeding on someone. As Klaus went towards her, she had still not recovered from the shock.

Then she asked him, " Why did you say again, I mean why did you say don't die again? Did I die before?" She looked at him. His eyes answered her question. Tears were willing up in her eyes, she thought she remembered very much or she was knowing all that needed to know. But No, the reality was far from it.

Klaus just let her relax in his arms. It felt odd to him yet it offered another comfort. It felt wrong to him in some sense as if he was betraying his brother, nut he was just hugging the mother of his child, but still-"

Soon it was nighttime. Klaus and Hayley went back towards their house. They both went into Klaus' room. He told her to sleep in his room today. He won't risk any chance of her getting hurt, even if it meant keeping her 24/7 in his sight.

"Hayley, we are going on a little trip tomorrow."

"Where are we going?"

"To Rome."

"Now sleep well, little wolf."

He sat there on the sofa beside her bed, watching her sleep. He watched over her the entire night.

Klaus hated himself for being vulnerable, but he had to do it, today he had to pull her in his embrace or he would regretted it all his life. He remembered Marcel had told him, 'If keeping hayley alive makes you weak, then yes.' And he understood it, and he wont let her down, he would give her comfort and bring her memories back.
