Shelby Lane, a 16 y/o finds herself tangled in the world of con artistry trying to avenge her late father. She stays with the Redforts and while staying with them tries to ruin Ruby and Hitch’s lives. She quickly befriends the older siblings of Ruby’s friends and manages to crash a quinceañera, using the invit she got from one of them. Warch out for action and drama here!

5. Chapter Three

"So you join on Monday?" Ruby asked.

"Yeah, Lulu says she's gonna show me around." Shelby replied.

"Twinford High is a very wild place. So anyways, why are you even staying here?"

"I really don't know. I don't even know how my mom or Franco knows your family." But we all know that isn't true.

"So wanna unpack?" asked Ruby. You could tell she was being oh-so painfully nice and missed being sarcastic.

At that moment Lulu and Dantaya walked in.

"So Ruby? The quinceañero? You're definitely going, arent you?" asked Dantaya.

"Yeah, I said I'd go. Besides your sister would hate me forever if I didn't."

"I've gotta ask," said Shelby. "What even is a quinceañera?"

"It's a Latin American tradition when a girl turns 15, she gets thrown a big party to celebrate her becoming a woman." explained Dantaya.

"And everytime the Lascos loves to make it a big deal." said Lulu, dryly.

"Nope, just our moms. It took a shit ton of convincing to get Lola to let us throw her a quince."

"Who's Lola?" asked Shelby.

"My sister. Technically half-sister through our dad. Her names not actually Lola, it's a diminutive of her name. Everyone calls her something for short though. Like Ruby."

"You do know that Del hates it when you call her that." Ruby chimed in.

"Does she want me to call her by her government name or something? Cuz i know she hates that too."

"Do you have any siblings, Shelby?" asked Lulu.

"Just one. But she's in college." replied Shelby.

"Fun fact, while on the subject of siblings, did you know Dantaya is a twin?" said Lulu.

"Really?"

"Yeah, his name's Montero. He's gone to some weird ass party with the boys in class." sulked Dantaya. "Mami never lets me do anything but Montero's allowed to go screwing people left and right at parties."

"TMI, D."

"So how are your siblings doing, girls?" asked Ruby ,"I haven't had the chance to talk to them yet."

"Clancy's at home because it's almost curfew. He says hi by the way." said Lulu.

"But it's only quarter to seven." said Shelby, confused.

"That's what happens when your the offspring of Lester and Sofia Crew."

I'll stay and get to know Shelby a little." said Dantaya, standing up "But do you want me to drop you off?"

"Oh no it's fine." said Lulu.
