Chapter 2: Newest arrival
Disclaimer: l don't own Naruto
Konoha high, a place known for producing big names. The likes of Tsunade Senju, the best doctor in the world or Namikaze Minato, young ceo of Konoha Corporation.
This was where Mito found herself now. She was currently waiting with Naruto outside the school, for one Sasuke. He was apparently Naruto's best friend so she wanted to make a good impression. ln her mind, his friends were now her friends. It was easier that way and much quicker.
"Naruto," a monotoned voice echoed out. The two Uzumaki turned to the person before them, Uchiha Sasuke. He looked like an emo, a confident one.
"Sasuke," Naruto chirped as the Uchiha gave a small nod before turning to Mito. Naruto took it as the que to introduce her.
"Sasuke this is Mito, my cousin. Mito, this is Sasuke, the emo we talked about," Naruto watched as the two shared a hand shake.
Sasuke hadn't been expecting this when he woke up today but it was nothing life threatening. She didn't seem like a fangirl but you could never really tell with some of them. He was just being cautious. ln no way whatsoever was he afraid of his many admirers.
Mito could tell how the two boys friendship worked. Naruto was the extrovert and Sasuke, the introvert. The Uchiha would let Naruto talk his heart out while he just listened. They were polar opposites and it worked, even if some aspects of the relationship were weird.
The high school was ridiculously huge and admittedly a bit hard to circumvent. Mito had gotten lost at least twice. Naruto had gone who knows where. She already had her schedule for the year but she couldn't find her homeroom. Sasuke was still with her but her pride would be wounded if she asked for his help. In fact, that seemed like what he was waiting for, if the smirk on his face was any indication.
At this point, what other choice did she have. It was either she asked or she would be late on the first day. Now, Mito prided herself on her impeccable timing and future planning but she felt helpless.
"Sasuke," she turned to the raven who stood idly beside her. He ha been walking with her since the beginning. Didn't he have a class to get to?
Upon hearing his name, Sasuke's smirk widened. He had wondered how long it would take the girl to cave. If she was anything like Naruto, he assumed she was stubborn. And that, she certainly was. He had seen her classes and she shared homeroom with him. Truthfully, she was pushing how long he could wait. They only had a couple of minutes before the bell rang and his father wouldn't take too kindly to him being tardy on the first day.
"Yes Mito," the bastard sounded oddly pleased with himself as he said it.
"Can you show me to my homeroom?" she didn't waver as she asked but he still considered it a victory. The Uzumaki never truly accepted defeat. He had learned that after years of knowing Naruto.
"This way, we share the same homeroom along with Naruto," he told her as he began walking off in one particular direction. Mito silently glared at the back of his head and he could feel it. This wasn't over.
Mito couldn't believe that he was willing to risk being late just to see if she was going to cave. Perhaps she should have called his bluff. She crossed her arms over her chest turned her head to the side. He had won this round.
As soon as Sasuke and Mito walked in all heads turned to them, even the teacher's interest was peaked, though you could never tell due to mask that covered three quarters of his face.
Some of the girls glared at her and felt as though she was making a horrible first impression. The poor girl didn't even know what she had done wrong. She had simply walked in with Sa...suke. Oh, it was starting to make sense.
Sasuke had already taken a seat, leaving her out in the open. 'Bastard,' how could he just leave her standing like that. He was starting to irk her.
The silver haired teacher stood up and put away his orange book. " Welcome I'm Kakashi the homeroom teacher, you must be new here so why don't you introduce yourself," he suggested to her. Mito slowly turned to face the class before she just went for it.
"Hi everyone, my name is Mito Uzumaki," that was all that was needed as the class began whispering about her. Mito simply assumed it was because of her surname. She walked over to the nearest free desk away from Sasuke. She sat by some shy lavender eyed girl.
As soon as she did, Naruto barrelled through the doorway, he appeared to be panting. He gave Kakashi a sheepish smile, as if asking to be forgiven.
"Only because it's the first day," Kakashi muttered as Naruto cheered before seeing her. "Oh hey Mito, l didn't know you were in here," he told her.
Mito didn't see how it mattered all that much. Class was not really all that educational. Kakashi had decided to ears them into the first week of school but it was really just because he was lazy. That or he wanted to finish that book. She would bet on both.
She turned to the girl next to her inorder to strike up a conversation but the girl beat her to it.
"S-s y-you're related to Naruto-kun," Mito took notice of the suffix added to her cousin's name. So it was likely this girl knew but she still asked while also confirming the girls question.
"You know my cousin," she asked. The girl seemed to turn red at the very mention of Naruto. It was either she was really shy or liked Naruto.
"Mito," the redhead said curtly.
"Hinata," the girl replied.
Before they could continue more girls showed up around. Kakashi was quite absorbed in his book and did not take notice or rather, he simply ignored all the commotion.
"Uzumaki, are you related to our Naruto?" the one that spoke was a blonde girl, her hair a shade paler than Naruto's.
"Yea, he's my cousin," Mito scanned over the group of three. The one next to the blonde was a pinkette with green eyes. Mito dryly noted that she was flat chested. The final member was a brunette with her hair tied up in two buns.
"Oh well it's nice to meet you, I'm Ino, that's Sakura," she gestured over to the girl with pictures pink hair before turning to the last girl. "...and this is Tenten,"
The girls waved as Mito automatically filed their names away In her head. Sakura spoke next with "So... what were you doing with Sasuke?"
Mito figured Sakura probably liked the guy a great deal. "He showed me my way here, to homeroom," she kept things as simple as she could. She did not intend to lose this friendship within the first few seconds of getting it.
It backfired because apparently, that was the first time the Uchiha had done something like. The bastard was screwing her over without even trying. Sasuke 2, Mito 0. She had to get back at him.
"Where the hell have you been hiding her Naruto?" Kiba asked his pal. Hot girls didn't just appear out of thin air. Naruto turned his head towards his cousin. She seemed to be getting along with the girls pretty well from what he could see.
"I don't know, l guess you could say she was sent by kami," he said. That joke sounded pretty cheesey, even for him.
In a way, she had been sent to them and he would be darned if she didn't feel welcome
