Ruby came out of the shower to a loud ringing notification coming from one of her phones. She picked up her banana phone and answered it. "Yeah?" she said.
"Hey Rube, it's me, Red. Just called to let you know that next week we're boycotting the basketball match."
RUBY: Wait, why?
RED: Because the basketball coach is a monster. She deadass thrives from tearing down all the players. Also something's up with Del and I'm sure that bitch has something to do with it. Even Dantaya's said that her mood had kinda changed for the worst.
RUBY: Come on, she's always like that. We can go over to hers and see if she's okay.
RED: Sure, okay. Meet me outside my house, we'll walk together.
As the two arrived, they were greeted by her mom, Bianca. Bianca usually does office work and was busy sometimes but today was different because they were doing dress fittings.
"Do you guys want anything?" asked Bianca. "I'm ordering donuts."
Ruby's face lit up. "Oh thank you, Miss M, we need donuts right now." Red nodded.
While she ordered the donuts, they went up to Del's bedroom. Her room was filled with posters of famous athletes and the walls were painted blue. She also had two canvases with the quotes "beso mi culo" and "nothing but net". It also had baby photos of her and a picture from her trip in Florida last year. When they got in they were first greeted by her Russian Blue cat Clementine, followed by Del coming to pick her up. "Hey guys, are you okay?"
"Oh no, we're fine." said Red. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah I'm fine too. Wanna come in?" said Del.
After twenty minutes of talking, there was a sneezing sound coming from her closet. And it definitely wasn't Clementine as Del was holding her. She knew who it was. "Eric, what are you doing in my closet?" called put Del. The closet opened and out came a young boy who looked around eight years old.
"Eric, how long have you been in there?" asked Ruby.
"Long enough to finally know what 'picha' means, so now I'm telling Mom." said Eric.
"No, no. Listen here Eric. If you don't tell Mom I'll… let you… erm…let you keep my tennis racket."
Eric stared in confusion. "Wait, really? But you never share your stuff."
"Yeah, but this one's from Papi, so it's worth sharing."
Eric grinned, grabbed the racket and happily hopped out of the room.
"So now that that's over, what do you think of Coach Danforth?" asked Ruby.
"I actually don't know. I mean she's okay, I guess." said Del.
"Are you okay though? She seems really mean and you've been eating a lot." said Red.
"I don't know what you mean. You say that like I've been bin-" She was then interrupted by her brother who had screamed, "DONUTS!" which then everyone had ran down and eaten. By the time Ruby could eat her second donut, the Bradley Baker rescue watch flashed, which meant Spectrum needed her. As usual, she made up her excuses, thanked everyone for having her and left.
