The biggest party of a Hispanic girl's life was awaiting Del the next day and Ruby, Shelby and all their friends was helping her family with preparations at this large beach house.
"You like the tiara?" asked Bianca.
Del made a face. "Mom, I appreciate you. I do, just tiaras aren't really my thing," she said picking up a mirror "and now it just feels- Wow, I don't care, now that I see it I love it, it's so sparkly!"
"Well, I'm glad you like it. Tomorrow's your quince, and all you have to do is be happy." Bianca then turned to everybody else. "Now it's time for you guys to do some work! I don't want to see any slacking off today, got it? Do you guys hear that sound?"
Silence.
"That's the sound of 150 Nicaraguans, 200 Italians and 120 Mexicans who are flying to Twinford from their countries to attend their niece/cousin's birthday party!" She looked at Montero. "I hope you know your Italian."
"Of course I do," said Montero. "Vuoi andare in un altro posto privato?"
"Cos'altro sai?" asked Bianca.
"Vuoi andare in un altro posto privato?" said Montero again.
Bianca slapped her head in her hands.
"Both sides of our families coming does not give you the chance to hit on what you call the 'sexy Italo girls' or the 'Mexican Barbies' from my family. Got it?"
"They're all out of his league anyway." said Dantaya.
"You and Elliot will be making the basketball truffles. And don't eat them, Dantaya."
Dantaya and Elliot made their way to the kitchen.
"Samantha, you're in charge of making sure all the guests arrive safely. Also keep your kids in check, especially Montero." said Bianca. "Eric, come, you're helping me come get the balloons."
"Coming, Mommy."
"Everyone else, make sure that room is cleared up and clean, okay?"
After three long, exhausting hours of cooking and cleaning, everyone was finally done and it was time to go home for the big day tomorrow.
"So where am I going to get an invitation?" asked Shelby.
"You don't need to, because you're coming as my plus one anyway."
