Chapter 2: The Government Pick-Up

The next day had arrived in town. Bereto had been accepted into the Furry Felines by King, and he was now an official member of the ragtag feline group. In fact, he was the first panther to ever be accepted into the Furry Felines. However, something bigger was about to unfold. As Katelyn and her friends were about to have a welcoming party for Bereto for being accepted into the Furry Felines, something serious happened. Duke Grailton ordered the United States government to come and pick up Katelyn and Stripes and bring them to the Pentagon in Washington DC. When Katelyn and Stripes were taken to the Pentagon, they were asked numerous questions about what had happened in October of 2020.

"OK, look here. We already told you everything we know. Some light sparkled on my Nintendo Switch, and we were suddenly taken to Cyberville after my merchandise disappeared!" Katelyn exclaimed.

The government agency manager said, "What we want to know is how you two got to Cyberville!"

"Look, this is all we know." Stripes said. "When my friend's Nintendo Switch sparked a shining gold, her merchandise started to disappear. Then, some magical portal showed up outside the window!" Stripes later explained.

"That portal must have been connected to our portal in some way…" another government agency worker said.

"You as the government have a portal to my supreme creation of Cyberville?" Katelyn asked.

"We do. Come with us." The government agency manager said.

Katelyn and Stripes were later taken to the area where the portal was. The portal was huge; however, no one could go through it.

"Ever since the year of 2013, when we found about your story about Cyberville after it was made public, the government of the United States of America and the Federal Bureau of Investigation were working closely to build an elite portal to Cyberville." The government agency manager said. "We call it Project: Gateway to Cyberville."

"Project: Gateway to Cyberville?" Stripes asked.

"Yes, young tiger." The government agency manager said. "However, we are in the process of opening it to the workers and the US Army."

"What does the US Army have to do with Cyberville?" Katelyn asked.

One of the workers working on the portal slowly came up to Katelyn and Stripes. "We got word of a group called the Cuddly Canines causing trouble in this town with a group of animals called fossae."

"What are fossae?" Stripes asked. "I mean, my species is native to Asia. Please tell me and Katelyn more."

The government agency manager explained about what fossae were. "A fossa, or also known as the Cryptoprocta ferox, is considered a massive carnivorous mammal on the island of Madagascar. They are considered to us as a cross between a cat, a dog, and a mongoose. And, even worse, they are top predator of the island."

"So… this looks like something you don't want to take home as a pet, eh?" Katelyn asked.

"Exactly, young lady." The government agency manager said. "However, that's not what we are here to talk about. What we're here to talk about is how you guys got into Cyberville."

"I brought my book with me if you would like to take a look at it." Katelyn said.

"Give me that freaking thing!" the government agency manager said. Katelyn gave the book to the manager, and to his shock, he saw the number 12-07-18 at the top right corner of the title page. He asked himself what the number could have meant.

"Should we try typing it in to the computer, sir?" one of the workers asked the government agency manager.

"Go ahead. It is worth a try, after all." The government agency manager said. "The number is 12-07-18." When the number was typed into the computer, Project: Gateway to Cyberville was activated.

"Is that it? Is that Project: Gateway to Cyberville?" an FBI agent asked.

"We're getting scannings from the other side… yes… yes that's it! Cyberville is open to us all!" the government agency worker exclaimed. Everyone cheered on.

"Alright, enough!" The manager of the government said. "It's time to go in and get the fossae and the Cuddly Canines out of there so that Cybrville can live in harmony and peace." He later pointed to a soldier captain and told him to get all the other soldiers together.

"Sir, Yes Sir!" The American Captain said. He later gathered up all of the soldiers from their campouts and brought them to the Pentagon.

Back in Lexington Town Avenue, Katelyn's mother was in fact worried about her own daughter. When she had found out that she was taken to Washington DC with Stripes, she decided to take her husband and all of the other Furry Felines with her to make sure Katelyn was alright. Little did they all know that another magical adventure involving family, friendship, and symphony was about to begin. Not only for Katelyn and Stripes, but for each and every single member of the Furry Felines and Katelyn's mom and dad.
