Two days later,
Olivia invited Amanda today to announce the news to her. She did not know how Amanda would take the news.
Benson Household
A few minutes later, Olivia heard a knock on the front door. Olivia walked out of the kitchen and walked over to the door.
"Hey, Amanda! Come in!" Olivia greeted her warmly when she opened the door.
"Hey, Olivia. Thanks for having me. Where is Noah?" Amanda asked.
"He is staying with Lucy for tonight," Olivia said
"Oh." Amanda said
"I made us dinner." Olivia said as they walked into the kitchen.
After dinner
During the meal, Olivia and Amanda talked about work things and their kids. Olivia knew the information she was about to share will be very difficult for the blonde and that it will take a long time for Amanda to forgive her.
"Anyway, the reason I wanted you to come is that I wanted to share something with you I discovered recently. It's something I think you should know." Olivia said.
"Okay," Amanda said
"Amanda, I discovered something a few days ago that confirms what I've been thinking for a week now. Amanda, you know how you were put up for adoption when you were born, and that you said you were born in New York." Olivia said.
"Olivia, what are you trying to say?" Amanda asked.
"What I'm trying to say is that you're my daughter." Olivia said.
"What? What? How is that possible? You can't really believe you're my mom. I mean, look at us, we literally couldn't look any more different." Olivia said.
"That's because you're the spitting image of your father. I know that's a lot to consider." Olivia said.
"You think you were my mom," Amanda said
"No, I had a DNA test done, and it showed we're indeed mother and daughter," Olivia said
"I don't care about tests! My mother is a whore who dropped me as soon as I came out of her. I grew up in hell because of her. I can't deal with this right now. I've got to go." Amanda said as she stood up and started walking toward the front door.
Olivia winced at the harsh tone and words that came out of Amanda.
"Amanda, please wait, I just want to talk this over with you." Olivia reached for the blonde, but she pulled away.
"Look Liv, we can just forget this whole thing okay," Amanda said
"Amanda, please don't be like that," Olivia pleaded
"Just leave me the hell alone!" Amanda said as she left the apartment with a slam of the door.
Olivia felt tears starting down her cheeks.
"Amanda, please don't be like that," Olivia pleaded
"Just leave me the hell alone!" Amanda said as she left the apartment, slamming
Olivia felt tears running down her cheeks.
A few hours later,
Olivia woke up to her phone ringing. When she looked over at the clock on her nightstand, it read 3:30 AM. Before she grabbed her phone.
"Benson," Olivia said sleepily into her phone.
"Hey, sorry to bother you, but is my mom still with you, or do you know where she is?" Aniyah asked.
"No," Olivia said as sit up in her bed.
"Oh," Aniyah said
Olivia could hear that Aniyah had been crying.
"Aniyah, are you okay?" Olivia asked and as she got worried.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just worried about my mom. She said that she would be back before 10 and it was almost 4 right now. If she is not with you, then where is she." Aniyah asked…
Olivia was about to say something when her phone rang again.
"Aniyah, I'm going to have to call you right back. Someone is trying to call me." Olivia said.
"Okay." Aniyah said as she hung up the phone.
"Benson," Olivia answered her phone.
"Captain Benson, this is Dr. Williams. From Mercy General Hospital," Doctor Williams said.
"Is there a problem, doctor?" Olivia asked.
"Well, one of your Detectives was involved in a car crash about one hour ago." Dr. Williams said.
"Which one?" Olivia asked.
"Detective Amanda Rollins." Dr. Williams said
"What! How is she? Is she conscious?" Olivia asked.
"I am sorry, but you know I can't give that information over the phone, and only to next of kin in person. But you should come down to the hospital as soon as possible." The Williams said.
"Okay, I will." Olivia said as she hung up the phone.
30 minutes later, Olivia arrived at the hospital.
The brunette rushed to the nurse's station.
"I'm looking for Amanda Rollins," Olivia said
"She's in room 193." One nurse said.
"Thank you." Olivia said.
"Captain." Dr. Smith said behind Olivia.
"What happened?" Olivia asked.
"As I told you before, she was in an automobile accident. The crash occurred around 2:15 am. From what I've gathered, the car flipped, and it was a one-car accident." Dr. Walliams explained.
"Okay, but what about Amanda's condition?" Olivia asked.
"Captain, you know I can't give out any specific information without the patent's or in this case the next of Kin's consent. All I can tell you for now is that she's stable and from her documents, the next of kin listed is her 15 years old daughter," Dr. Williams said.
"No, that's not right. I'm her mother, I'm her next of kin. So tell me what's wrong with my daughter," she said.
"Alright. Amanda is in stable condition. The real problem, though, is the head injury she suffered." Dr. Williams said.
"Head injury? How bad is it?" Olivia asked.
"Well, from what our examinations have shown us, she has no major bleeding, but she has some swelling. She slipped into a coma not long after being extracted from the crash. I'm sorry. Come find me if you have any more questions but I need to attend to other patients." Dr. Williams said.
Slowly Olivia turned to enter the room once the doctor had stepped away. She opened the door and again froze in her tracks; she expected to see the room empty and cold with Amanda laying on the bed hooked up to machines to monitor her.
