Chapter 4: The Press Conference
It was sunset in Cyberville. Katelyn and Stripes were getting bored after they met Oscar, the green-armored lance knight of the ragtag Greil Mercenaries. They decided to return to the Pentagon after getting so bored, that there was nothing else to do. But they wanted to carry Professor Byleth Eisner back with them so he could see what it felt like in the real world. And that's what Katelyn did. She snuck into Byleth's room later in the night and put him on Stripes' back. Then, KKatelyn had something in her hand that she found while at the Pentagon. She would use a metal plate to get pack to the portal.
"You see Stripes, that's exactly what we would do if we ever needed to get back to the real world." Katelyn said to her trusty tiger. And then, they were the ones busted by the government when they were caught coming back through the portal.
"Get in there right now, Katelyn." The government agency manager said. "There will be a press conference, and we have been eagerly waiting your return. Oh, and who is this wretched human?" the manager later asked.
"Relax, sir. That's just a citizen from Cyberville. We brought him back here to show Katelyn's mother and you guys." Stripes said.
"Bring that thing in the conference room." The manager said.
It was finally time for the conference meeting to begin in the conference room after Byleth woke up from a slap from Katelyn. The government's conference room manager, a kindhearted, but strict blonde-haired lady named Johanna, was the one who was overseeing the press conference's main pep talk. The main topic for the press to talk about was none other than a mystery involving the Cuddly Canines. However, they would soon receive another threat to talk about, thanks to Byleth's information.
"So, what are you saying?" Johanna asked Byleth. "Is it even a bigger threat?"
"Yes." Byleth answered. "In fact, this is probably one of the greatest threats Cyberville had to go through. And that is the mystery of the fossae."
"I've been hearing about that too." Katelyn responded to Byleth. "But there's one question. Why didn't you tell us beforehand?"
"I was afraid that you would freak out over it, Katelyn." Byleth responded. "After all, I know everything about you from the last time we met. In fact, that was almost half a year ago."
"How long have you known Katelyn for, Byleth?" Johanna asked.
"I don't remember." Byleth responded.
"I see." Johanna said as she understood. She returned to the topic at hand, which was about the fossae threat.
"I've talked to Katelyn about the fossae threat before, and I even told her what fossae were." The government agency manager said. "However, I've yet to tell her about why they are coming to Cyberville and how they were taken from the island of Madagascar to begin with."
"Can you tell us more, sir?" Johanna asked the government agency manager.
"Not at all, Johanna." The government agency manager explained. "You see, Count Labolas Caacrinolaas, the big, black German Shepherd who is the leader of the demonic and crazed Cuddly Canines, has a human owner who takes care of them in Bran, Transylvania. The owner traveled to Madagascar to retrieve over one hundred fossae from their tribe by locking them in cages containing ten fossae. After all, ten times ten is one hundred. Then, the cages were brought to Cyberville by their way of getting there.
"What is there way of getting there?" Katelyn asked.
"The black magic of Labolas Caacrinolaas." The government agency manager said. "So, our duty is to drive the Cuddly Canines and the fossae out of Cyberville. That, my fair lady, is why we need your help into doing this difficult task."
"But I should be in my summer writing class!" Katelyn exclaimed in a panic.
"And I should be hosting events with the rest of the Furry Felines!" Stripes exclaimed in a panic.
"Stripes, we are gonna have to make a huge deal with the US government and the FBI." King the African Lion said. "It is the psychological law here, you know."
"So, Katelyn, what do you say? Will you help us?" The government agency manager asked.
"Well, I guess I have no choice…" Katelyn said. "Alright. I'll help. But The Furry Felines and my mom and dad have to help too."
"Thanks, Katelyn! I'm really glad you decided to play along with us." The government agency manager said. "But first, I must take you to the stables in the Old City District."
"The Old City District?" Katelyn asked. "There are stables with real horses in them?"
"Yes, there are." The government agency manager responded.
"Can you direct me and the Furry Felines to them?" Katelyn asked. "Please, sir? It would really make my day if you or someone else would really do that for me."
"Actually, I'll have a good friend of mine take you there." The manager said. He knows the way there better than I do." And so, with excitement on her face, Katelyn was eager to see what kind of horse she will get. She wondered if it would me a mare or a stallion. She also wondered if she was able to use the horse to drive off the Cuddly Canines and the fossae. But all Katelyn wanted was a horse that would love her for all the days and nights to come.
