Four hours later,
The hospital
Olivia was sitting in Amanda's room when Aniyah, Billie, and Jesse walked into the room.
"Hey, Auntie Liv," Billie said
"Hey, sweetheart." Olivia said.
"Is mommy going to be okay?" Jesse asked
"Yeah she is, but right now she needs rest." Olivia said, as she looked up at Aniyah.
"How did yall get here?" Olivia asked Aniyah.
"Mom's boyfriend drove us here." Aniyah said.
"Yeah it's uncle sonny." Jesse said.
"Jesse you weren't supposed to tell anyone." Aniyah said.
"Sorry." Jesse said
Before anyone could say anything, Carisi walked into the room.
"Oh, hey Liv." Carisi said
"She already knows." Aniyah told Carisi as she laid down next to her mom in the bed.
"Oh." Carisi said
"How long?" Olivia asked
"A little over one year." Carisi said.
They sat there and talked for a little.
"Come on guys, I think we should head home." Carisi said.
"Not let." Aniyah said as Jesse and Billie climbed into the hospital bed.
"Ok, but only for a few minutes. Okay." Carisi.
"Thanks." Aniyah said
Before anyone could say anything else, there was a knock on the door and then two CPS agents walked in.
"Hi, I'm Amelia Hart and this is Darius Taylor with CPS. We're here about Amanda Rollins' daughter." Amelia said.
"What is there a need for CPS to get involved in? Aniyah, Jesse, and Billie are in a safe home being well taken care of." Carisi said.
"We have no doubt that Aniyah, Jesse, and Billie is in good hand with Mr. Carisi, but since Amanda has no next of kin listed in the state and no will on who is to care for Billie and Jesse in this sort of situation, we have no choice but to take custody until the next of Kin can be contacted. But for Aniyah, her father is going to take her." Darius said.
"Wait, No." Aniyah said as breathing immediately picked up speed and she began hyperventilating.
"Hey hey," Carisi said, immediately jumping into action.
"You're ok, just breathe," Carisi said
While Carisi was trying to calm down Aniyah. Olivia started talking to Amelia and Darius.
"I am her next of Kin. Aniyah, Jesse, and Billie are my granddaughters." Olivia said.
"How are they your granddaughter?" Amelia asked
"It's complicated." Olivia said as she looked around to see that Jesse and Billie were asleep. Carisi is still trying to calm down Aniyah.
"When I was fifteen, I became pregnant with a child I could not care for. In order to give her the best chance in life, I gave her up. I had our DNA tested in secret and it confirmed my beliefs. She's mine and that makes Aniyah, Jesse and Billie mine as well. Now I just got them and my daughter here is fighting for her life. So Please don't take my granddaughters from me too," Benson finished with shallow breaths, fighting very hard to keep any tears behind her eyes.
"When did you find that out?" Darius asked
"A few days ago. I already told her before the accident happened." Olivia said.
"Alright, we'll leave Aniyah, Jesse and Billie in your care, but I'll be back to see you tomorrow. Sign some paperwork and I would also like a copy of the DNA test." Amelia said as she and Darius walked out of the room.
Once they left the room, Olivia looked over at Aniyah and saw her sleeping next to Amanda.
"Is she okay?" Olivia asked.
"Yeah, she's fine, just need some rest." Carisi said.
After a few minutes passed, Carisi had finally spoken.
"Liv, are you okay?"
"No, it feels like it's my fault that she's even in this hospital bed right now." Olivia said
"You can't blame yourself for that." Carisi said.
"Yeah, but Amanda was the only one involved in the accident." Olivia said.
Carisi did not know what to say after that.
One hour later,
"Uncle Carisi, can we go to the park now?" Jesse asked.
"Sure." Carisi said
"Is Aniyah going to stay here?" Jesse asked.
"Yeah, she needs her rest okay." Carisi said.
"Okay. Bye." Jesse and Billie said at the same time as they stood by the door waiting for Carisi.
"You don't mind watching Aniyah, do you?" Carisi ,
"Nope, not at all." Olivia said.
"Okay thanks." Carisi said as he, Jesse, and Billie left.
30 minutes later,later,
A few seconds later,
Vivica woke up.
"Well, hello sleepy head." Olivia said as she saw Aniyah opening her eyes.
"Hi." Aniyah said
"Are you feeling okay?" Olivia asked.
"Yep." Aniyah said
"That's great." Olivia said.
"So the CPS agents let Jesse, Billie and Me stay with you until mom wakes up." Aniyah said.
"Yep." Olivia said
"So let me guess, but because you are her mother, which means you are our grandmother. I knew it." Aniyah said.
"How?" Olivia asked
"Well, when I caught you going through my mom's locker. I saw guess you had my mom's toothbrush and put it in a bag. You Thought , but I left, but I was actually hiding under Kat's desk. So when you left, I followed her. I followed you to Melinda's office. Then the other day when you were babysitting us, I heard you say that you were now a grandmother. And I put two and two together." Aniyah said..
"You are a smart cookie." Olivia said.
"I know." Aniyah said with a smile.
