The hospital
Once they got to the hospital, the doctor and nurse rushed Amanda to the trauma bay and then put Olivia and Aniyah to another hospital room.
One hour later,
Kat, Fin, Carisi, Jesse, Billie, Noah, and Lucy all sat down in the waiting room chairs. Only quiet murmurs were audible.
A few minutes later, the doors to the trauma bay opened and everyone's heads snapped up. Out walked Olivia and Aniyah. They covered Aliyah's face in stern-strips and a couple of stitches.
Noah, Jesse and Billie run up to them and hug them.
"Are you okay?" Billie asked them.
"Yeah, we are fine." Olivia said,
"Is mommy going to be okay?" Jesse asked
"I'm not sure, sweetheart. But the doctor and nurse are helping her right now." Olivia said
"Oh, okay." Jesse said, as they all sat down in a seat.
Everyone sat in silence. For at least another two hours.
A few minutes later, a doctor walked out the doors.
"Hey guys. Amanda was in terrible shape when she got here. Severe concussion, minor skull fracture, fractured clavicle, multiple broken ribs, broken wrist. Internal bleeding etc... she'll be in for a while and we are transferring her to the ICU for a few days - but I know you guys are family to her so you guys can go see her. I expect her to make a full recovery." The doctor paused as one simultaneous sigh of relief swept through the waiting room.
But they alway so know that the doctor was hiding something from them.
"What is it doc?" Liv asked
"It seems she was sexually assaulted too." The doctor said.
I would recommend a rape kit to be done as soon as she is willing to give consent"
A solemn mood settled over the waiting room, some rubbing their eyes and some shaking their heads.
"Thank you, doctor," Olivia said with pain in her voice
The doctor just nodded her head and left.
Olivia was just about to ask Jesse and Billie if they wanted to see their mom, but they were fast asleep. So was Noah.
"It's okay Liv, I can take them back to your place for the night." Lucy said,
"Thank you so much, Lucy." Olivia said
"No problem." Lucy said as Fin and Carisi helped pick up Noah and Jesse.
"Aniyah, come on." Lucy said, as she started walking.
"No, I'm staying here." Aniyah said,
"Nyah, I think you should go with them and get some sleep." Olivia said.
"I said no, I wanted to stay here with my mom." Aniyah yelled at Olivia. Olivia saw how sacred Aniyah got when she said that.
"Okay, you can stay." Olivia said, wondering what had made Aniyah scared like that.
Ten minutes later,
Olivia, Aniyah and Carisi were the only at the hospital with Amanda. Everyone else has gone home but will be back in the morning.
One hour later,
Olivia and Carisi went still asleep, but Aniyah was already asleep next to Amanda in the bed when Amanda came to. Everyone shuffled their chairs closer. Amanda moved her head to the side and slowly opened her eyes.
"Hey. Amanda? Mandy?" Carisi said.
"Amanda, can you hear us sweetie?" Olivia said.
Amanda looked up to see Carisi and Olivia looking over at her. "
Hey guys." she said, her voice raspy and wheezy.
"Do you remember what happened?" Carisi said. Amanda thought for a minute before nodding sadly. She looked up, eyes suddenly wide.
"Where are Jesse and Billie?" Amanda asked as she looked over her shoulder to look at her older daughter
"They are at my apartment with Noah and Lucy." Olivia said
"That's great. How is she doing?" Amanda asked, as she looked over at Aniyah.
"She is doing okay right now. She does not really show how she is really fine, but I think this sets her back again." Carisi said
"I know." Amanda said,
"How are you doing?" Carisi asked
"Okay." Amanda said
"I think you should get some more rest." Olivia said as Amanda just slowly closed her eyes.
Olivia watches her daughter and granddaughter sleep.
Olivia and Carisi sat back down in the chairs next to the bed.
While Olivia was watching her daughter and granddaughter sleep, she could not stop thinking about what Carisi meant by what happened with Deandre, and Zackary was going to set Aniyah back again. So many questions were running through her head.
A few hours later,
Olivia woke up with a start to the sound of whimpering. She looked up to see Aniyah drenched in sweat, tears streaming down her face. But she was still asleep.
She got up and stood by Aniyah's the bedside Aniyah was at.
"Please...no..." Aniyah whimpered in her sleep.
"No, please...Daddy STOP PLEASE! You are hurting her." She screamed, thrashing in her sleep.
"Aniyah, Aniyah sweetie, you're having a nightmare." Olivia said as she tried to wake her, but also not trying to wake up Amanda or Carisi.
Aniyah woke up gasping for air. She looked over to see Olivia; her face tired and worried. She looked around in confusion.
"Aniyah?" Olivia questioned. The little girl collapsed into her arms, crying. But her breathing picked up.
"Hey Aniyah, it's just me. Liv. Can you slow down your breathing for me?" Liv said.
After a few minutes, Aniyah calmed down.
"Sorry." Aniyah said.
"No no, don't you dare apologise, you have absolutely nothing to be sorry for." Liv said.
"You want to talk about it?" Olivia asked
Aniyah shook her head. Talking about it would make everything so much worse.
"Ok let's go back to sleep then." Liv said, kissing Aniyah on the forehead.
"I don't think I can go back to sleep after that." Aniyah said
"Okay, how about we take a small walk around the hospital then maybe you can fall back to sleep." Olivia said,
"No, I don't want to leave mommy." Aniyah said, as she got close to Amanda.
That was the first time Olivia heard Aniyah call Amanda mommy, that when she knew her nightmare must have been super mad.
"Okay, we can just sit and talk or we can watch TV.." Olivia said
Aniyah did not really say anything, so Olivia turned on the TV.
