Iruka's POV

I turned away from my chalk board to look at my students. I wondered how to approach the topic of today, the hokages.

"Okay class, who can tell me who were the hokages of Konoha, and a little about each of them?" I asked, no one raised their hands, for once everyone was silent. I started to slump my shoulders when I felt a shiver run down my spine. I looked up. Only one student raised his hand. Shenlo. The student who had the most potential to become hokage. I motioned for him to answer, receiving a short nod.

"Well Sensei, there have been four hokages in our village. The first was Hashirama Senju, from the Senju clan, a clan that was said to have had over a thousand skills. He died after the first great ninja war, passing the title on to his brother Tobirama Senju. Also from the Senju clan. He had an extraordinarily strong water affinity. So strong that he could draw water from a dry atmosphere. He died during an ambush protecting his comrades in the Second great shinobi war, passing the title to his student Hiruzen Sarutobi. From the Sarutobi clan, known for their monkey summons, ash kekkei genkai, and utilizing their renowned strength and willpower. Hiruzen Sarutobi is also known as the professor and the second god of shinobi."

"He retired later on passing the title down to the student of his student Jiraiya, Minato Namikaze. From the namikaze clan, known as a merchant clan, he was the first shinobi from that clan. He was one of our greatest sealmasters, and was one of the few people to ever have a flee on sight order from other nations. Later on he died during the night of the nine tails attack, and perished in battle. Soon after Lord Third had to come out of retirement to hold the hat so a suitable replacement could be found." Shenlo finished. The class was stunned that one of their own could know so much.

Soon I had finally found my voice, "C-correct. It appears that you are the only one who has studied. Ok, as I was saying earlier, the hokage is the head of the leaf village."

Shenlo POV

I soon tuned Iruka out, as I already knew what he would talk about. We were soon dismissed for the day. After leaving the class I headed for the Hokage's office.

After about ten minutes of walking I reached the building. I went in to talk to the secretary.

"Miss, is the Hokage available? I need to ask him a few questions. Tell him Shenlo is here." I asked politely. She looked up, nodded, and left. A few moments later she came back, "He'll see you now."

I nodded in thanks. I walked into the Hokage's office. Slowly, extending out my senses. Oddly, I sense five anbu, normally there are only four. "Hokage-sama, there are supposed to be five anbu in your office, there are only typically four. The new presence is disguised as the bookshelf." I ask.

"No, no there's not." The hokage said. He motioned for one of the anbu to find the infiltrator.

A moment later an anbu in a dog mask was holding a struggling man in a completely white mask with the kanji for root on the top.

"Take him to Ibiki dog." The hokage said. The said anbu nodded and left with a shunsin. "Now then what can I do for you Shenlo."

"Yes, lord hokage. I came here to ask if I could have permission to leave the village to train under the guise that I come back in five years to take the genin exams. I ask this not because I have been mistreated by the villagers nor my peers, but that I do not wish to take up village resources to better myself, with something I may already know."

The hokage thought for a moment, and nodded signalling his consent to my idea.

I left his office moments later, to pack my stuff and leave.
