This chapter took a different turn than I expected...
Chapter 2: Party Time
Sasuke sat in the passenger seat, playing a game on his phone. He wasn't paying attention, his friend, Suigetsu, driving them to a party he didn't even want to go to in the first place. Both of them were fairly dressed up, mainly because Suigetsu forced him to wear what he deems 'party attire' since it was going to be one of the larger parties of the year. Some fraternity was hosting it, which made Sasuke dread it even more.
That was how Sasuke ended up with his black hair styled in some 'fashionable' style, wearing dark skinny jeans that were far too tight, and a fairly form fitting nice dark blue v neck shirt, that showed more of his skin than he cared to show. Suigetsu just told him it complimented his pale skin and dark eyes. The only thing he picked out were the black converse that Suigetsu claimed were out of style, but he didn't care.
Suigetsu hadn't done much to his hair, leaving it to fall naturally, which according to him his did much better than Sasuke's. His jeans were a lighter shade, but appeared to be just as tight. He had put in some colored contacts, causing his eyes to appear purple. They matched his purple shirt, which Sasuke thought looked much more comfortable than the tight one he'd forced him to wear. Suigetsu was also pale, but said he didn't need a dark color to compliment his skin since his shirt was matching his eyes. Overall, Sasuke found it ridiculous to say the least.
The car came to a sudden stop, horn blaring and tires screeching as his phone fell out of his hand from the impact. "What the fuck?" he looked up to see that they were stopped and a car had hit them from the side.
"What the hell?" Suigetsu yelled at the other driver as he got out of the car. "Do you not know what a fucking stop sign is?" The damage was minimal due to his fairly quick reflexes, but enough to cause damage to the front of his car.
The other driver got out of the car. It was a young girl, probably barely old enough to drive, "I'm so sorry!"
"I know I said I didn't want to go, but that doesn't mean I wanted to get into a car accident," Sasuke huffed as he too got out of the car, assessing the damage.
"How is it my fault someone ran a stop sign?" Suigetsu growled, more angry about his car than at his friend. He ran his hands along his face before grabbing his phone to call the cops and report the accident.
As they waited for the police to arrive Sasuke grumbled, "You should have been paying more attention. Maybe then you would have seen that she wasn't going to stop."
"Again, how is this my fault? I was obeying every traffic law. I wasn't even speeding before he stopped," Suigetsu huffed. He hated driving with Sasuke. Despite the dark haired man not even being able to drive, he always had something to critique. "You know what, get your own license. I'm never driving you again."
"You don't mean that," Sasuke rolled his eyes.
"I really, really do," Suigetsu told him as the police arrived. They took their statements and exchanged insurance information. He was just happy the young girl was insured to begin with.
Sasuke sighed as he waited around for them to be done. He sat on the curb near the accident watching as the accident was documented and statements were taken. "I'd rather be at the party," he mumbled.
"Again, I'm never driving you anywhere after today," Suigetsu warned. "You can either get a license or take public transportation or an Uber, I don't care which. You're not my responsibility if this is how you're going to act for a minor accident." Suigetsu was being serious, he was done with Sasuke's attitude.
"Fine," Sasuke shrugged. "I'll get my own license, it can be that hard," he told him.
"I'm not teaching you how to drive," he said. "If my driving is that bad you can go to one those stupid schools for that shit," he huffed, done catering to the dark haired man.
"Fine, I will," Sasuke said stubbornly. "I don't want your help anyway, you're a shitty driver," he was just being petty. Suigetsu wasn't a bad driver, if anything he was usually overly cautious. His pride wouldn't let him say that so instead he started scrolling through websites to find a driving school. "See already found one," he said as he started booking an appointment.
"Good," Suigetsu was truly relieved and couldn't wait to criticize everything Sasuke did once he got his license. He'd take pleasure in pointing out every little flaw in his driving. "Now let's go, this is my last time driving you, I need to blow off some steam at that party," he said once they were done and able to leave. "Luckily this thing still runs," he told him. He was being dramatic given the fact that it was unlikely his car would be damaged to that point when it was a relatively minor accident.
"Whatever," Sasuke mumbled as he got back into Suigetsu's car. "Let's get this over with."
They walked into the party, the music was blasting with some popular party song that Sasuke couldn't name. It was far from his taste in music. People had already been drinking for hours before they showed up.
"About time!" Karin greeted loudly over the music as she walked up to them.
"This idiot got us into an accident," Sasuke told her, causing Suigetsu to slap his arm. "What was that for?" Sasuke hissed.
"I told you that shit wasn't my fault," he shook his head. "By the way, he's your responsibility tonight, I'm done driving him anywhere," he shoved Sasuke to Karin.
Sasuke glared at Suigetsu as he light haired man made his way towards the drink table. He turned to the woman. Her bright red hair matched the red colored contacts she often wore. "Don't tell me you wore those contacts to match your hair," he shook his head.
"Nope, to match my fiery personality that'll kick your ass if you continue to be a dick," she told him. She was dressed in a long sleeve purple crop top paired with black shorts and knee high black boots. "Now that you're here, I have someone I want you to meet," she pulled him towards the other end of the house.
He groaned as she pulled him towards a group of frat boys. "Why am I meeting them?" he huffed.
She ignored his question and brought him to a halt in front of the group of guys. "Naruto," he called out, getting the attention of a man with blond hair and blue eyes. Sasuke had to admit that he was attractive. "This is Sasuke, the guy I've been telling you about," she introduced. "Sasuke this is my cousin, Naruto."
"Tell him about? What the fuck are you saying about me?" he hissed. The last thing he wanted to was to be set up with someone, which is what he was pretty sure she was doing.
"Don't worry, he's been warned about your cold exterior," she told him. "Really he's just a softy on the inside," she said to the group of guys, which only pissed him off more.
"Nice to meet you," the blonde grinned as he held out his hand for a handshake.
Sasuke ignored it as he looked at Karin, "If this is your way of trying to hook me up with your cousin I'm not interested."
"You don't even know him," Karin argued. "And who said I was trying to hook you up with him?" The both knew that she was, but that wasn't the point. Her point was that Sasuke didn't even give him a chance.
Naruto dropped his hand, knowing he wasn't getting a handshake any time soon, "Karin. You didn't tell him?"
"Do you think he would have come over here if I did?" she scoffed. "I figured he needed to see you and the fact that you are totally his type and then he wouldn't care," she shrugged.
"I'm standing right here, don't talk about me as if I'm not here," Sasuke crossed his arms. "Dumb frat guy isn't my type, you know that."
"Dumb frat guy?" Naruto asked. "Look here asshole, I'm not some dumb frat guy," he huffed, hating the stereotype that some people seemed to box him into. "Just pull your head out of your ass and stop being a judgmental dick."
Karin signed as she warned, "Guys, behave right now or I swear you won't like the consequences." She wasn't sure whose ass she'd beat first, but she was leaning towards Sasuke since he started being an asshole first. She turned to Sasuke, "He's not just a dumb frat guy." Her attention moved to Naruto, "Yeah, he's an asshole but not a complete asshole."
"I don't have to take this," Sasuke practically stomped away, done with the conversation. He hated when people tried to set him up with someone. It was like they thought just because two men were gay they'd instantly be attracted to each other. That wasn't how it worked. At least now he knew why she was so adamant that he came to the party. "Fuck," he cursed as he realized Karin was his ride home. He groaned before hiding himself away in a corner, "Stupid party." Later he would realize that he wished he had paid more attention to the name of the driving instructor he'd chosen and not just what time the person was available.
