Chapter 4: VIP Pass Invitations
One warm first Saturday of August 2021, I met my childhood friends Sarah, James, and Henri, along with some of my other best friends, Carly Shay and Spencer Puckett, as well as Carly's stepdad, Freddie Benson, at Pittsburgh's Perfect Parties client Madison Dayley's house in Springdale. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. Madison was making her fancy VIP invitations for her Hollywood Glitz and Glam Sleepover in 2 weeks. We ate cobb salad for lunch. "So, how has your week been, girls?" Madison asked us. "Not so great," I replied. "My cat, Mattie passed away on Tuesday night and Carly's mom passed away the same day." "Oh no!" Madison exclaimed. "I am so sorry!" "Well, there were some good things that went on this week, too," James pointed out. "Like how I got to participate in a debate on Monday and you were mentioned, and also a trip to Sandcastle Water Park with my other friends, and the best part was my very own photoshoot in Hartwood Acres Park!" He paused for a moment. "But, I do feel sorry for all of the deaths that happened this week at the same time!" "Wow, you can be pretty optimistic and sympathetic at the same time, James," Spencer pointed out. "I am very proud of you for that." "Why thank you, Spencer!" James replied. "Do you think that we could play a game after our shift is over, Mr. Benson?" Henri asked. "That would be cool." "Of course, Henri," Mr. Benson replied. "Even though we will be playing a lot more games tonight at Hartwood Acres Park." "Did you guys know that I have always dreamt of what life in Hollywood was like?" Madison asked us. "And Sarah, you have always been a fan of the sunny Santana! Is that true?" "Of course, Madison," Sarah replied. "I love any song in which he collaborates with Chad Kroeger, the Chad Kroeger, of Nickelback!" "That's cool," Madison replied. "Hey, Carly, who is your favorite artist?" "Uh, you'll see when we have time to play the game at the end of the shift," Carly stated. "Okay," Madison replied. "So, what doesn't she know about Hollywood, Carly?" Sarah asked. "Nothing that I can really think of, Sarah," Carly replied. "The other day, she made a Compare and Contrast list just like what Hannah Mifflin did last year and what Rebecca Chase did just last week," I told everybody. "Why don't you tell Madison your secrets?" "Well, I snuck into an R-rated movie at the age of 13 years old," Sarah stated. "With a boy named John Paul." "And, I have dreamt of being famous all summer when I was 15 years old, even as I attempted to get into a summer camp," Carly stated. After Madison was done making her invitations, she delivered them to her 4 guests Laci, Ava, Penelope, and Everleigh. Then, as promised, we listened to Carly's favorite band NSYNC while performing the obstacle course and getting ice cream at Glen's Frozen Custard right after eating potatoes for dinner. Then, we headed back to Hartwood Acres Park and met more of our friends Alex Russo, Justin Evans, and Max Greenwald there while playing more games like Charades, Saran Wrap Prize Ball, Sardines, Flashlight Tag, Truth or Sing, and Nail Polish Spin the Bottle. Then, we headed back home for the evening. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
