I KNOW. I'M SORRY, I'VE LITERALLY HAD NO MOTIVATION. I promise that I would never leave a story unfinished though.
DoggyPocky: Despite that I haven't written a whole lot for Ginko, I'm definitely proud of him as an OC. Keeps guard as he should. Cosmo really stood his ground against those assholes, proud of my boy!
acorntree1: Thank you about chapter 3! Metaphors are my jam so when I found a good one I put it to good use, gotta be careful with them though. Glad ya liked! Ginko may not be an ass like the other two, but his advice is definitely the most realistic. Again, thank you about the writing style! Makes me very happy.

Juandissimo convinced her to sit at his boys' table most of that week. Wanda couldn't say she was entirely agreeable but the way Juniper and some of the others have been taking a particular eye to her new 'friendship' lately was becoming a little more than she could take on.
She'd been having trouble facing Cosmo since that night they got ice cream. She wasn't blind enough to have not noticed anything going on between her and Cosmo but hearing it leave his lips terrified her more than she wanted. Like he was reminding her she was basically, or almost, a cheat.
She poked mindlessly at her barely eaten pasta salad and fries. Juandissimo indulged in loud conversation with the other team members as laughs went through Wanda's ears with no reaction as the only girl currently at the table. Luther threw something Juan's way that he dodged in return and barked an insult that roared the rest of the table in more laughs. Wanda flinched by the loud disruption to her brain. Getting unintentionally nudged by one of the boys she hunched her shoulders in as she cringed down her annoyance that was heightening to dangerous levels.
Cosmo strayed across the caf, a lunch tray of spaghetti in hand as he searched for Ginko. His eyes had more trouble looking up in the past few days since the night he and Wanda met late at night. The number of times they'd met at late hours before that made him think maybe it was his fault for overstepping. Wanda was just too nice a person and Cosmo was taken advantage of that. Maybe she was better off with someone who knew his own worth...like Magoo.
Passing by a roar of laughs, it was so hard to avoid the pink beauty that sat in the middle. His stare must've been felt by her because she looked his way and opened a penstock of conflict. Did she want him to come over?
Wanda ignored Juandissimo's question to her as her boyfriend wondered what kept her attention. When a third member joined Cosmo and Wanda's stares, Wandafelt her free hand was laced by her boyfriend's, and the immediate 'reclaim' nearly drove Cosmo off.
"Your eyes broken?"
Wanda's blood ran cold when she realized Luther was very much knowing of Cosmo's presence too. The green fairy in passing froze as he stared down his hell's highway and made way to dash. Looking at Wanda one extra time wasn't worth the extra pounding. The pink fairy's heart increased when Luther got up as well.
"Luther, no-!"
"Bébé," Juandissimo held her arm from getting up. She didn't need to get hurt accidentally in that mess.
One of Luther's closer buddies stopped Cosmo in his tracks by the front, only for the poor kid to stare and get turned by the shoulder to Luther blocking his other way. Sandwiched between the two, the green fairy swallowed down pins and needles.
"I-I, I didn't mean to..to.."
Luther flicked his lunch tray. "Nice stutter."
"Luther!" Wanda called. Attention was drawn by other tables to Cosmo being circled and the effort Juandissimo was putting into practically roping his arms around his fidgeting girlfriend.
Luther's menacing features inched near Cosmo's terrified ones, unable to make his victim look away.
"I don't want any trouble.." Cosmo piped.
"Never asked if you did, loser."
One smack up to the bottom of Cosmo's lunch tray, and suddenly the green fairy was doused in a spaghetti sauce facial. Loads of shouting and laughter busted from the majority of the caf's population as the tray fell to the floor while chunks of tomato paste and noodles fell from Cosmo's face and sweater. His eyes were barely able to open as he wiped the food from his eyes to look at his attacker.
"Red's a good color on you." Luther said, flicking a spaghetti noodle Cosmo's way. The noodle hung by Cosmo's nose that made the others laugh even harder. Flicking it off, the sauce-covered fairy turned to his dreaded float of shame out of the caf, and Wanda almost had to rip her sweating palm from Juandissimo's grip to follow.
. . .
Cosmo looked down in flushed embarrassment as Wanda pulled another baby wiped from the pack she kept spare in her locker. The two sat on their knees on the secluded gym floor as the girl sitting across from him near the bleachers tenderly wiped away the remainder of a tomato splotch on his cheek. Though that couldn't really help the stains on his clothes.
Wanda could feel every vibration of tension from his downcasted eyes. Humiliation in front of the school was a big yikes, but it was particularly hard on Cosmo when it was in front of her and she wasn't unaware of it. If anything, she felt as if she were partially to blame. Maybe she could've done more to try and stop it, maybe she was part of the reason Luther picked him as a target.
Wanda clutched the tomato-dirtied wipe to her, trying to enlighten something upon Cosmo's sullen face.
"He was right about one thing.."
He looked up.
"Red goes with green."
Cosmo took in her attempted joke, hiding his curved lips as Wanda's features pinched at her stuffed-in laugh. He'd give her a pass on that one, it was funnier when she said it.
She balled together a used wipe. "I don't really know what Juniper sees in him."
Cosmo watched her pull another from the pack. "What do you see in him?"
For a split second, she thought he meant Juan. Wanda blew a raspberry past her lips in a snort. "Excuse me?"
"Luther?"
Um...was there anything to see in Luther? Wanda gave thought to everything but giving a thought to that lughead was as useless as tits on a boar hog.
"You're kinda asking the impossible," Wanda said, rubbing his cheek free of sauce with a fresh wipe. "I can only be around that so much."
"Why?"
"Because."
"Because why?"
Wanda crumpled the wipe a little more aggressive than intended and Cosmo couldn't help but flinch. She pulled another and continued with her work. Cosmo's eyes avoided her's.
"Sorry.."
"It's not you." Wanda spoke gently. "I just feel sick."
"Like..vomit-sick?"
"No...just sick..."
She pulled away when a sweaty palm touched her forehead so suddenly. Wada stifffened in a low chuckle from Cosmo's little checkup and she gently pushed his hand away. "It's okay, Cosmo. Nothing you can do."
"But, isn't that what friends are for?"
Wanda curled her knees in tighter in her seat. The gym floor was suddenly very uncomfy beneath her. "Are we still friends, Cosmo..?"
This didn't reach his brain entirely. "When were we not..?"
Was it a draft or magnitude pulling her to him? She felt that same feeling from the infamous night of ice cream crawl up her back.
"You have...some.." his finger strayed closer and rubbed off some excess pasta sauce on Wanda's face. This time she didn't react and push his hand away though so suddenly. While he removed the little red splotch from her cheek, his finger still hovered closely. Wanda died for more of that magnetism she felt every time he was so physically near.
"Flor."
Cosmo snapped his finger away, avoiding the entrance left to him as Wanda looked instead. Juandissimo held one double door open while waiting for her stiffly and almost impatiently.
"Vamanos."
Her eyes flickered every which way until they decided to land on her friend again. "I gotta go, um.."
That seemed to become harder to say every time. The look of Cosmo's defeating downturn didn't seem to help the needles pokingat Wanda's skin.
"I'll just leave these here," she patted the pack of baby wipes. Making way to get up she floated over to Juandissimo as she held her arms. The weight of her boyfriend's gaze never made her feel as subconscious as it did right now.
Juandissimo reached for her. Kissing her cheek a little longer than usual as the boy sitting on the gym floor gave the biggest eye roll known to man. One arm draped around her waist, pulling her hip to his as the jock looked over his shoulder. Purple eyes surged heavily into the green fairy's soul until the couple floated out and left him to detrimental defeat. He looked down at the baby wipes and lifted the pack to chuck them across the way with a grunt.
"You still mad with me, flor?"
Wanda cleared her throat arrogantly as she pushed away from his arm. The halls were still vacant during the lunch hour. "Mad again, rather."
It seemed there was a new reason to be every week now. Juandissimo shoved his hands into his pocket as they floated side by side in the most formal way they probably ever had in the history of their relationship. The purple-eyed jock was not having it though. Things were far more cordial than he wanted them to be despite Wanda's accusations that he had other things to pay attention too. There wasn't anything wrong with a little notice every here and there. Or a lot, if that's what just came. But what about the attention from his girlfriend.
Hating the silence, Juandissimo turned and grasped a hand to Wanda's arm to get her too as well.
"GET OFF ME!" A screech opposite of a tune bowled out of her. Shocking her boyfriend to no turn as he backed up, hands-off right away. The quick snap from fury to realization of her antics made Wanda cover her mouth as two pools of fuschia pink remained just as stunned as Juandissimo's.
If it was already quiet, that silence descended levels deeper into an upsetting hollowness between the two in the dead hallway. Juandssimo couldn't recognize this type of anger in the sweet-as-sugar girl he'd been going out with since sophomore.
"Juan.." she spoke. "I'm so sorry.."
For what? Scaring the near life of him or giving her undivided attention a little bit more to her friend than boyfriend? Some things around here needed to be reminded but it seemed that was a bigger bite Juandissimo was gonna have to take.
"Bébé," he tried, watching Wanda silently make up herself. "I do not want to worsen anything, you do know that."
She tucked her hair behind her ear. "Of course, why would you?"
If she knew that, she was asking for it. "Then you must do me a bigger favor, por favor."
Dangerous, dangerous request was all Wanda could think.
He closed his eyes and tucked his chin down. "I ask that you stop talking to Cosmo Cosma, flor."
Defiant pink eyes snapped up. "What!? You can't ask me something like that!"
Ka-Boom.
"I would like to focus on us, flor. I think we need it."
"What does Cosmo have to with us!?"
Juandissimo may have had his focus all over the place, but he knew Wanda was hardly that dumb. He placed a hand on her back, encouraging her to follow.
"The way I see it, we have a lot of trouble lately looking the right way. I do not forget what we have though because of it, bébé. You know it is still us."
His words were baby soft, but Wanda was not impressed. "Spare the poetics."
She, on the other end, was more ice cold than she'd ever been as she stopped again, wanting to turn away. "If you think my friend is the reason our relationship is all over the place, you are barking up the wrong tree!"
"If you think I am unaware of what is going on here, it seems that green tonto's stupidity has dumbed you down!"
Her cheeks were turning fiery red and her head felt like it was compressing as she distanced herself away from him.
"If you have a problem with my kind of friends, say it to me and stop hiding behind Luther."
She'd have enough of Juandissimo using the big red-eyed meathead as a sword and shield. She could see it in his eyes as he sealed his lips to avoid the truth of how the friend who held the most use out of Cosmo as a punching bag was one of the best free use of weapons he had against losing his girlfriend.
"If there is beef between Luther and Cosmo it is not my place to help."
"Beef? You call that beef?" Wanda pointed in the direction of the cafeteria. "That's scumbag behavior."
"He is enthusiastic.." Juandissimo said, not believing his own faulty words either.
"He's mean.." Wanda turned away. "And so are you..."
Off she went in the other direction, leaving the jock to recollect when this all started going wrong.
"Text me later, Juannie!"
"And me too!"
He chuckled amourously, giving a wink to two girls he often shared seats with in natural charms class. "How could I ever forget texting you senoras?"
Forced laughter left the two waving him goodbye in the halls as Juandissimo pushed his way through the other students. If he was to ever get home from his trail of adoring lady followers at all. After lunch's dramatics, his heart felt all the more lifted by an afternoon spent with Belle and Aurora in his last two periods. They were one of the few that were extra enthusiastic on their time spent with Juandissimo. He was pretty sure one if he hadn't ended up with Wanda, one of them would have for sure been second pick.
The good feelings were lost the instant a green that made him sick to his stomach came into view. Floating by his locker as he gathered stuff for his way home. The yellow beanie-hat he was always seen with shared a fist bump in what seemed to be his goodbye as he rushed past him and left Cosmo to continue gathering his things.
The little wuss. So casual in his day as if he wasn't making advances on Juan's girlfriend in the middle of the freaking gym. He had guts to be taking on that kin of territory, not just anyone else's at this school. It was so frustrating! Juandissimo couldn't lay a finger on the little green punk because Wanda might dump him for it. He couldn't say he ever imagined that happening...
...nothing bad came out of a warning though.
With a float that could intimidate for miles, up came the famously-loved jock to the famously-hated scapegoat of the school. Arriving at the green fairy's locker as Cosmo's captured attention turned a little duller in seeing Juandissimo of all people.
"Hablemos. Now."
"Huh?"
"Talk."
Cosmo zipped up his bag, putting it over one shoulder as he attempted to go past him. "Look I gotta-"
His locker slammed closed by Juandissimo's pent-up fury, halting Cosmo quicker than ever as he begrudgingly stayed and listened to the guy's word.
"Listen to me, and I will not make a scene."
Cosmo did not want to be humiliated by this guy. There was so much to have against him already. Cosmo pinched his brow as he wondered what he could possibly want from him when Juandissimo already have what a lot of guys would kill for.
"Wanda and I are very happy. I do not control who she talks to, she does not control I." Menacing eyes that could snap a bone leaned in near Cosmo's stubborn snout. "But, I can smell when someone makes moves on her and she is off-limits. She is my girlfriend. Do I make myself clear, amigo?"
Big wiseacre eyes only sneered back at him and Juandissimo turned when he felt his point was made.
"You haven't broken up with her."
"Qué?" He spun around so fast in anger he could nearly crack his neck.
"You didn't break up with her," Cosmo repeated, feebly holding his bag strap still. "And she hasn't with you."
And what, he was hoping he would or something? The jock trailed back over to his menacing distance inches away from Cosmo. "And are you going to make us, onto?"
Tasting bile on his tongue, Cosmo just couldn't be bothered to ever avoid trouble in his life. It seemed he was past caring at this point. "I'm not the one doing that.."
Proving he was a little smarter than Juandissimo thought, the jock was thrown off-guard as steam could've nearly come out of his ears. In no mood for a sequel to lunch's chaotic though, the jock went straight past him as his shoulder only bumped Cosmo out of the way once.
A little part of Cosmo relaxed in knowing he avoided a situation that could've gotten way more ugly. But it seemed as if he wasn't the only one involved as he looked across the way to two particular fairies floating down the hall on thier way out. Wanda's eyes were piercing into Cosmo's soul out of extreme fear as Sage talked her ear off, unnoticng the situation. Wanda clearly didn't miss an image of the boys' little spat.
Cosmo stomach twisted in knots as he suddenly felt very nauseous. Time's thin line was calling to him on this world he was dangerously entering. The only thing that brought him comfort though was knowing he was not alone. Because this was very much new grounds to Wanda as well as she decided to avoid making things worse, she only smiled through the pain. As did Cosmo her way.
Not a week later did everything change forever...
. . .
. .
The reason I wrote the ending line like that is because I already made a break-up one shot with Wanda and Juandissimo and I'm building around that. So as you could imagine the next one is where we're at a much different stage!
