Betty

Betty had sent Jughead to grab Pop's for dinner at the begining of the movie. When the movie had finished and still no sign of her author boyfriend she began to worry. She approached the door hoping maybe if she opened it he would be parking the bike. When she finally did open it all she got was the unmistakable sound of summer night. With a sigh she went back to the couch to grab her phone to call him. He probably got caught up talking to someone at Pop's. As Betty dug her phone out from between the couch cushions her stomach dropped for some reason. She turned her phone on ready to call him when she found she had two missed calls from Jughead himself. He probably wanted to know if she wanted a milkshake or something silly she thought to herself. Yet the feeling in the pit of her stomach would not go away. Another notification popped up for two new voicemails. She unlocked her phone and immediately clicked the voicemail notification. "You have two new messages. To listen to the first message please press one to delete-" Betty quickly pressed one not wanting to waste any time. "First message from Jughead." The phone said before it clicked over to play the audio. "Betty it's me Jug. I got into a bad accident at the four way intersection of Maple and Oak. I know I should call the police but my dad is on shift don't need him worrying yet. So-" Jughead rasped into the phone before going quiet. Betty could just barely make out the sound of footsteps from the other end. She backed out of the voicemail and clicked on the second completely ignoring her phones voice. The voicemail began silent then after a moment she heard Jughead. "Look I won't press charges if you give me your insurance because man I have had enough excitement this week." Betty hears the footsteps stop as Jughead breaths become raspy. She hears cloth shift and then hears it more. "Look guy its not that big of a deal I won't say anything okay? There is no need for a gun." She hears more footsteps crunch closer to the phone and what can only be Jughead. Betty raises a hand to her mouth as she starts to silently shed tears. As though if she makes a noise the mysterious man will kill Jughead. "I am seriously just go ahead and leave I will get a ride to the hospital." She heard a quick and sudden movement before Jughead groaned in pain. "Shut up Mr.Jones it was no accident, I have been waiting all night. Now then your coming with me like it or not." Then a few seconds of silence and the voicemail ended. Betty was immediately on her feet dialing FP at the police station. The phone rang twice before his voice came through the phone.

"Yeah Betty whats up?"

"Mr. Jones something is wrong."

"What do you mean Betty? Jughead's with you isn't he?"

Thats when she started babbling.

"No Mr. Jones I sent him to get Pop's almost two hours ago. I just looked at my phone and I had two missed calls and two voicemails. I listened to the voicemails and it sounds like someone hit Jughead on the bike and took him on purpose."

"Betty did he say where he was?" FP says voice clipped with worry for his son.

"He said it was the intersection of Maple and Oak."

"I would say stay put but I know you will head there anyways. I will be there as soon as I can." With that FP hung up and Betty raced to the door. She grabbed her jacket and put her shoes on. She swung the door open and rushed down the sidwalk. Maple and Oak were only three blocks away. She ran as fast as her legs would take her. Her lungs burned like she had swallowed lava yet she kept going. She did not slow until she turned onto Maple. She could see the intersection he was talking about from here. Thats when her heart stopped she could see his bike far off to the left and food littered the ground. She sprinted the rest of the distance and stopped as she reached the bike. The side was covered in blood and it was banged up pretty bad. She looked up to see where Jughead landed. She scanned the nearby road twice before a glare off the pavement caugh her eye. She rushed to it and found Jugheads phone. It was covered in bloody fingerprints. There was a small pool of blood just to the right of the phone and there right in the middle of it was Jugheads beanie. It was in his back pocket if he had worn his helmet like she had told him to. With the absence of said helmet at the scene she was glad to know he was wearing it. She picks up the beanie now coated in Jugheads blood and clutches it to her chest. Tears flow freely down her face as she sits and waits for FP to join her. "Oh Jug where are you?" She says to the warm night air not really expecting anyone to answer.
