Recap
"Thank you for the opportunity to be your summoner," I said.
"You are very welcome. Two more things before I go Shenlo Otsutsuki, I will have an owl to stay with you at all times, he will be a Eurasian Eagle-owl. Secondly, it has been two days since you entered the ruins, you must hurry back to your team before they get worried. Go back down the mountain in that direction and you will get to where you need to." She spoke wisely pointing behind me to my five o'clock.
"Thank you Qhoocciesha," I spoke before turning to go back.
"He will bring honor to our Clans Phantom Okami," Qhoocciesha thought proudly. She poofed away the next moment in a large puff of smoke.
Day of the Fight
I traveled through the forested mountains, down past the ancient ruins, and through the trees of the island. The crisp and sweet smell of the trees provides a refreshing reminder of the prospering life of the island. The air was filled with the sound of birds and animals chirping, the rustle of leaves as the gentle breeze carried them off to anywhere possible. The slight squish of the mud beneath my feet gave me an indication that it had either lightly rained or it was beginning to get colder for the island season.
I walked for a long time enjoying the call of nature before finally reaching Tazuna's home. Naruto stood on the porch of the home this time, Sasuke and Kakashi most likely inside.
Naruto had seen me by now and had come up to me curiously.
"So where were you Shenlo? You had me worried," Naruto asked.
"I had found some ancient ruins where I found two summoning scrolls. I ended shooting myself out of a narrow chute being propelled by wind and ended up crashing through some trees and hitting the ground hard. Which explains my bloody appearance. So if you wouldn't mind I need to take a quick shower and redress myself," I said to Naruto getting slightly embarrassed.
I proceeded to walk into the house, ignoring the odd looks from Tazuna and Sasuke about my outfit. Kakashi had his nose in his book, so he didn't notice that I came in. I walked up the stairs to get a shower however before I could get to my room to get a change of clothes I passed by Inari's room. I heard faint crying, sighing I knocked on his door. A moment later Inari opened the door looking up at me with wide eyes.
"What do you want?" He asked with a slightly accusatory tone.
"May I come in? I heard you crying," I asked receiving my answer when Inari opened the door wider allowing me entrance.
I walked in and sat on his bed. "I firstly want to apologize for my outburst to your comment a couple of days ago. I overreacted and I am sorry for that. Listen, crying over something that has happened in the past is okay. Just don't let the event control your life. It is okay to cry when happy, sad, or angry, just don't act like a victim who has nothing left to receive. Okay?" I asked Inari.
"Okay, I can do that," He responded.
"Good, never give up, and start doing something to fix the tears. Now then, I need to get a shower, so if you will excuse me, I must go," I spoke once more before leaving Inari's room.
Grabbing a change of clothes, I headed for the bathroom. I undressed and entered the shower.
Letting the warm water roll over my body as I washed my chest, and arms served to get rid of the grime of the previous two days. It felt good to wash away the blood and dirt from the journey of the day prior. The ache of my body slowly disappeared as the warmth of the water seeped into my body. The sudden pains coming from my chest were lesser than earlier but still there.
Getting out of the shower I toweled dry and began dressing in a copy of my previous outfit. This time though, I went into our room and grabbed a pile of kunai and manipulated the kunai to form over my body and act as full body armor that was built into the fabrics of the clothing. I wore the owl necklace underneath the shirt and suit, and the rings on my middle and index fingers of each hand. I placed my hannya mask on my face.
Kneeling down on both knees and leaning back onto my heels with my head leaned down and my eyes closed I prayed to any of the gods that would listen.
"I pray to any who will listen. Protect us during our battle, give us strength. Protect us from dishonorable warriors who wish to stab a person in the back. Kami, make us fast and accurate, let our blades strike true, make our arms swifter than any who would seek to destroy us, grant me victory over our foes and when my death comes, let not our last thought be 'If I had only..' but rather let the halls of the heavens ring with our names. And let us perish atop a mountain of enemy corpses." I prayed.
I came down the stairs and saw that Kakashi, Sasuke, and Naruto were outside already. Tazuna was almost ready to go to the bridge.
Outside I saw Kakashi tense, Sasuke and Naruto each had a Kunai out. In front of them stood four wolves.
One of the wolves spoke to me, "Shenlo-san it is good to see you. My name is Obsidian, I am of the Shoosuva wolf species. The wolf to my right is Havoc of the Dire wolf species. Next to him is Fang, who is of the Thorn wolf species. Finally, next to Fang is Einar of the Kreshnar wolf Species," Obsidian spoke.
Obsidian had nearly black fur, with his barbed tail being a grey color, he stood at a height of3'6". Havoc was the largest among them standing at an astounding height of 4'6," he had amazing grey hair, and large paws with incredibly large and sharp claws. Fang stood at a similar height to obsidian and had green fur along his back and sides, mixed in with brown fur. Along his back was thorns that regularly poked through the fur line. Next to him stood Einar a wolf a bit larger than Obsidian, standing at 4'0" he had light grey and yellow fur. On his face was the skull of a dead animal or rather animals.
"It is a pleasure to meet you all. Kakashi! Naruto! Sasuke! Put your weapons down, these are my personal summons. If you harm them, not that you could most likely, well without getting hurt back, then you will face punishment from me. I have another personal summons coming in a few minutes it will be an owl so be careful." I yelled at my teammates.
They looked hesitant but quickly put their weapons away. They shifted around anxiously waiting for Tazuna to appear.
Tazuna walked out of his home a few moments later ready to go.
"You guys go ahead, I'll be right behind you," I spoke aloud to my team.
Kakashi looked at me weirdly but began walking toward the bridge with Naruto, Sasuke, and Tazuna in tow.
A few minutes after they left an owl poofed into existence on the railing of the porch. To say the least the owl was beautiful.
"Nice to meet you my summoner. My name is Kazoo, I will be your personal summons to remain with you at all times," Kazoo spoke with a passionate voice.
"Okay, thank you. Really quickly I need you to fly ahead to the bridge and scout out what's happening alright?" I told Kazoo. Kazoo gave a small nod before flying off quickly to the bridge.
I made a couple of shadow clones to remain behind to guard Inari and Tsunami.
Quickly beginning to run along toward the bridge I noticed slash marks on the tree, as if from swords. I smirked, they would be surprised to see that the house was still guarded.
A moment later Kazoo, returned next to us, flying at head level.
"Shenlo-san, your teammates are being attacked by multiple assailants. I have narrowed down the total number to four people. Although they are using clones and other similar techniques." Kazoo relayed to me. Nodding, we picked up our pace. Obsidian, Fang, Einar, and Havoc effortlessly ran along with me.
Tazuna's Home
Two thugs equipped with swords burst through the trees excited as they had seen the shinobi leave. They went up to the door of the house, anxiously looking around as if they were going to get caught.
"Hey, I have a bad feeling about this, you sure we should do this?" The first thug asked.
"Yes, Gato will be mad if we don't. He'll have Aoi kill us both if we don't" the second responded.
The second thug pounded on the door with his fist. The sound echoed around the house inside. Footsteps could be heard coming closer to the door. A couple of latching sounds later and the door opened to show a young woman. Tsunami looked panicked and was about to let out a frightened scream when each of the thugs got a tap on the shoulder.
The thugs turned around to find themselves at blade point. They were being held at bladepoint by identical shinobi. They were walked off the porch and over to the pond.
The shinobi before them didn't say a word but lowered their blades. The thugs let out a sigh of relief without knowing it would be their last. The shinobi before them put their hands on the scythe's attached to their back and quickly attacked them. Swiftly and effectively ending the assailants' lives. Their bodies and head proceeded to fall and sink into the pond.
Tsunami went back into their home and proceeded to lock and close all doors and windows.
Bridge
As we ran toward the bridge, the battle could be seen. Small sections of smoke could be seen rising up from the stone. Bodies of workers lay strewn across the floor of the bridge. Tazuna sat against one of the walls of the bridge, a look of fright on his face. Naruto and Sasuke were in a battle with an Ice user, and a no-name missing-nin from Iwa.
"Kazoo, fly over and kill the missing ni from Iwagakure. That way Naruto and Sasuke can focus on facing the Ice user alone." I commanded. Immediately Kazoo flew over and flew down fast toward the missing-nin who was about to impale a kunai into Sasuke's chest.
Kazoo extended his talons from both feet and impaled the head of the missing-nin in six places, four on top of the skull and two times on the faces, one talon in each eye. The missing-nin was sent over the railing. Sasuke looked surprised and looked past the battle and toward me. I gave him a slight nod, and shouted, "Fight with Naruto against the Ice user. Make sure to use extremely hot Fire jutsu. Tell Naruto to empower your fire jutsu with his wind."
Sasuke nodded slightly showing that he understood before running to help Naruto.
Meanwhile, Kakashi was in a two-way fight that he was beginning to lose. Running over, I pointed to the second man that Kakashi was fighting. Immediately Havoc and Fang ran at the man. Fang ran over and began to bite the man in the leg, Havoc pounced on the man and proceeded to gnaw on the man's face. I walked over and decided to end the man's misery.
I placed the blade of my scythe on the man's throat and slit it quickly allowing the blood to escape and drown the man in his own blood.
I turned around and saw that Kakashi was about to be struck down by Aoi. Putting the scythe away I grabbed Ryuujin Jakka and blocked Aoi's strike. "Kakashi, go help Naruto and Sasuke with the Ice user. They are about to be overrun with senbon." I shouted to my sensei.
Kakashi nodded before running over.
I quickly found myself in a bladed battle to the death as Aoi made repeated attempts to try and decapitate me. Tired of having to defend, I made a slight whistle sound. A moment later the flow of the battle changed as it turned from a 1v1 to a 1v6. Obsidian, Havoc, Fang, and Einar spent their time biting Aoi's legs and ankles causing the man to shuffle his feet constantly. Kazoo spent his time flying around his head-scratching him whenever he could.
I spent time locked in combat with Aoi blade to blade. I would make a strike and Aoi would do his best to block. With every strike, I put more and more force into it. Aoi was almost to the edge of the bridge when I heard a footstep behind me that I knew didn't belong to my teammates. I then heard a kunai rushing through the air toward me. I spun around and blocked the strike with the broadside of Ryuujin Jakka. I noticed that it was the Ice user wasn't dead yet. In my stunned moment of confusion, Aoi took his action and stabbed me through the back. The tip of his sword of lightning poked through my stomach. Time seemed to slow down. Havoc, Obsidian, Fang, and Einar all attacked Aoi more fiercely than before. Havoc bit down on Aoi's wrist causing him to drop the Raijin no Ken. Einar jumped and closed down on Aoi's throat crushing the jugular and closing the windpipe.
I dropped to a knee and gripped Ryuujin Jakka harder. I watched as the Ice user began to move closer to Aoi, kunai still in hand. I looked to my right, where Kakashi, Naruto, and Sasuke looked stunned. They stood with wide eyes, and mouths agape.
I stood up, the blade still in my back. I gripped Ryuujin Jakka and spun around slicing the Ice user across the back cutting through the person's spine. I brought my blade around and stabbed it through the Ice user's heart.
I then did my best to stand, Kakashi quickly ran over to support me.
Aoi, Haku who I assumed the Ice user was, the third guy and the missing-nin were all dead now. A high-pitched voice brought me out of my thoughts.
"Hah, I knew those four were useless. They served their purpose though. Bandits get them." Gato spoke standing in front of a large number of bandits.
Standing up fully I pulled out all of my kunai and Shuriken, even my senbon and throwing knives. I liquefied the metal and began making hand seals.
A moment later a large chakra spike originated from me, "Metarurirīsu: Ame no ken no odori(Metal release: Dance of raining swords)." I called out. The metal began shooting up into the clouds.
The bandits looked up and laughed, "Haha what a waste, you can't even do a jutsu correctly."
I was pretty much on my last bit of consciousness. The bandits had begun to run toward us. Kakashi set me up against the wall of the bridge. Sasuke equipped a few kunai the same as Kakashi. Naruto drew his sword and waited for the bandits to come. As the bandits were coming over the middle of the bridge, I made the ram seal. Causing all the metal in the cloud to start dropping down in the shape of swords. Bandit's started falling left and right, some impaled, others without heads. By the time the bandits had reached my teammates, there was only a few left. Kakashi after killing the last of the bandit's captured the midget. He handed the midget to Tazuna. He walked toward me. Obsidian, Havoc, Fang, and Einar all growled toward Kakashi.
Naruto walked over and picked me up. This time there wasn't a reaction from the wolves. Kakashi, Naruto, Sasuke, and the wolves all ran toward Tazuna's home. Tazuna ran along with Kakashi. Tazuna pounded on the door.
Tsunami opened the door, and let us in a look of fright on her face as she layed eyes upon me. Naruto layed me with my chest down on the couch. I finally blacked out of the pain.
Naruto Pov
I felt Shenlo's body slump down, muscles relaxed, and everything. He had finally passed out, this would be much easier for me now. I began to cut the shirt off his back. Everyone around me gasped as Shenlo's back was exposed. It was covered in scars, some jagged looking, others, clean lines, some looked like holes and puncture marks of kunai. His whole back was mostly scar tissue. Shaking my shock away I removed the sword from his back, immediately blood escaped from the wound. I handed the sword to Kakashi, "Jiji will want this back."
Putting my hand over the wound, it began to glow green. Immediately the blood began to slow, and the wound began to close up slowly.
A few minutes later there was only a thin line where the wound was. "Kakashi that is all I can do for him right now. We will have to get him to Konoha for him to be fully healed." I told Kakashi. Kakashi nodded, and we packed everything of ours and we left quickly.
It took us about two hours before we reached the gates of Konoha.
Konoha
The gatekeepers were going to stop us, but Kakashi gave them a glare, causing them to back up and avoid eye contact. We ran through the village to a hospital where we ran in and got a doctor to take Shenlo.
We were in the waiting room for multiple hours. A doctor had come out earlier telling us that Shnelo's stomach had been punctured along with other organs and that his stomach acid had started to corrode his organs.
We were anxiously waiting for a doctor to tell us that he would be alright.
A doctor came in through the doors and Kakashi stood up, anxious to hear the news. "Kakashi-san your student is now out of surgery he will make a full recovery in a week at most. Visiting hours will be tomorrow from Nine am to seven in the evening." The doctor spoke.
I left the hospital, Naruto's summoning wolves and his owl stayed in his hospital room with him, acting as guards.
I walked toward our apartment, leaving Kakashi and Sasuke to report how the mission went.
Hokage's Office Hiruzens POV
I was sitting at my desk when the door opened to reveal Kakashi and Sasuke. They each looked extremely stressed.
"We are here to report about the mission Lord Third," Kakashi spoke.
"Go ahead," I said, allowing Kakashi to speak.
"We left the gates an hour after receiving the mission and a short while later we faced two C-rank missing-nin. We confronted Tazuna about this fact and discovered the fact that wave hadn't had enough money to pay for a higher rank mission. Upon arriving at Wave we fought with Aoi Rokusho, once Shenlo was going to deliver the killing blow a person that we later discovered to be the last remaining of the Yuki clan, posed as a hunter-nin and took Aoi away. A day later I began their training to face Aoi. Shenlo a day later stumbled upon an ancient set of ruins and found two summoning contracts that are now his own. The owls, and the wolves. We then went on to face Aoi, the Ice user, and two others at the bridge. Upon facing them, Shenlo had his owl summon kill one, then another, allowing me to help Naruto and Sasuke with the Ice user. The ice user moved behind Shenlo as he was close to killing Aoi. The ice user attempted to strike Shenlo in the back which Shenlo blocked, but then Aoi stabbed his sword through Shenlo's back. Shenlo's wolves summons killed Aoi, and then Shenlo killed the Ice user. Afterward, a large number of bandits engaged us, and Shenlo used a Metal release jutsu and killed most of the bandits. The technique was the "Metarurirīsu: Ame no ken no odori(Metal release: Dance of raining swords). From what I sensed It was a high A-rank technique used for killing a large number of people. Afterward, he passed out, Naruto began healing him. We brought him back to Konoha quickly so as to get him healed. He is currently in the hospital, he is out of surgery and is expected to fully recover in a week," Kakashi finished speaking.
I nodded, "Okay, very well. I will have an A-ranks worth payment sent to all of your accounts and have an A-rank mission posted on all your records. You all will have two weeks to rest. Also, Kakashi, do you have the Raijin no ken with you?" I asked.
"Yes sir, I do," Kakashi spoke. He reached into his pouch pulled out a scroll, and unsealed the Raijin no ken from it, and handed it to me.
"Thank you, you may go now," I told Sasuke and Kakashi.
Wave Tazuna POV
We found Gato's hideout and had raided the building. We freed everyone that was taken hostage and had given everyone's money back before we publicly executed the midget. Then we forged Gato's signatures and transferred all of his money and companies to Shenlo Otsutsuki.
Afterward, we finished the bridge and named it the freedom bridge. Inspired by the people that helped bring freedom to Wave. We had four statues sculpted, one for each of the members of the shinobi team from Konoha. The most important one was Shenlo Otsutsuki, the one person that came close to death protecting our country.
We also hired shinobi from the rebellion from Kiri to start a shinobi nation in Wave. We also started supporting both the rebellion from Kiri and Konoha with resources. We sent a cart with two men filled with Gato's money and company accounts to Konoha to give to Shenlo.
