"WOOOO!" Deeks shouted out the open window of the Audi as they made their way on to the PCH.

"DEEKS! Would you close that window?! For crying out loud, the wind is driving me crazy."

"You're no fun Kensalina. You gotta live a little. Take a lesson from Monty, let your hair down and let your hair blow in the wind!" Deeks said as he stuck his head back out the window.

"The only lesson you need to learn from Monty are his grooming standards. Honestly Deeks, Monty has a cleaner coat than you."

"What this?" Deeks asked shaking his hair around like a wet dog while Kensi put a hand up to keep him away. "I'll happen to have you know that this style is IN right now."

"Really?" Kensi asked quickly glancing over from the wheel, clearly not buying it.

"Really." Deeks confirmed.

Meanwhile, Deeks reached into the backseat before bringing a giant bag filled to the brim with various snacks on to his lap.

"Ahh." Deeks said satisfied. "Care for a light refreshment, my dear?" Deeks asked.

"What the hell Deeks?" Kensi asked.

"What? It's a road trip. Every good road trip needs snacks."

"It's a 2 hour drive, Deeks."

"Yea, but it's been a long week, and it's gonna be a long day. Come on." Deeks said while digging through his bag and then selecting a bag of beef jerky which he quickly devoured in to.

"You really are an animal, you know that?" Kensi said looking over at her partner.

"I prefer maninaml or jungle cat. Come on lady bird, you know that."

Kensi rolled her eyes.

"Besides, you're really trying to tell me you don't want the special treat I got just for you?" Deeks asked while fishing out the package of twinkies he had gotten for Kensi.

Kensi simply stared at Deeks and then the twinkie and back again for several moments before saying, "Give me that." And ripping the treat from Deeks' hand.

"Easy there tiger. You're not you when you're hungry. Speaking of which, I think I have some snickers in here too somewhere."

"Sn-i-ars?" Kensi mumbled over her mouth full of twinkie.

"Wow. Yea, and I'm the animal." Deeks replied while handing his girlfriend a snickers.

Meanwhile, in the Challenger, Sam was driving like always.

"What do you make of this?" Callen asked.

"Make of what?" Sam replied keeping his eyes on the road.

"This case. We've never seen anything like this."

"So, when has that ever stopped us before."

"I'm just saying, a case with dolphins and seals? It's gonna be weird."

Sam slowly turned his head to stare down his partner for a few moments before glancing back at the road. "Oh my god. You're afraid of dolphins aren't you?"

"What?"

Sam laughed. "You got a little bit of porpoise phobia there, G?"

"I do not. I just thought this was going to be an interesting case and was trying to make conversation."

"Right." Sam teased.

Callen sighed. "I'm not afraid of dolphins Sam."

"Ok, sure." Sam said sarcastically.

"That's right." Callen added looking over at Sam while slowly nodding his head up and down.

After a few moments of silence, Sam said, "It's sea lions, isn't it? You afraid of sea lions?"

Callen chucked, "I'm not afraid of sea lions, I'm not afraid of anything, big guy." Callen emphasized his last words.

Sam glared over at Callen before returning his eyes to the road while Callen just chuckled.

Back in the Audi

"I spy, with my little eye somethiiiiiiing…..grey." Deeks said.

"The road." Kensi immediately replied sounding bored and blinking slowly.

"Ooh nice Kens, you could be a detective too you know. Alrighty, I spy with my little eye something BLUE!"

"The sky." Kensi replied before Deeks could even finish his sentence.

"WOW, you are good at this game. Ok, here we go, I spy with my little eye….."

"Deeeeeks…." Kensi whined.

Callen leaned back in his seat and reached for the radio dial.

"Touch my radio, you die." Sam replied calm as ever.

"Come on, it's been a long drive already and this isn't my style of music."

"You don't have a style of music, G. You don't have a style of anything. You're a lonely monochrome clothed nomad who thinks settling down is akin to the apocalypse."

"Now that's just hurtful." Callen said while gripping the handle above his car side door.

After several minutes of silence Callen spoke again. "But I mean seriously? Rock the Bells? That's the station you want to listen to all day long?"

"What you got against hip hop, G?" Sam asked flabbergasted.

"I've got nothing against it" Callen said defensively. "It's just not my type of music is all."

"Even though we've already established you don't have a type of music."

"Hey, I know good music when I hear it."

"You saying my taste in music is bad?" Sam asked while looking over towards Callen.

"I'm not saying that at all, I'm just saying I would prefer something else." Callen laughed.

"Ok. Alright say I don't kill you when you reach over to that dial. What station would you go to?"

"I don't know. I'd just browse around until something good started playing."

"Browse?"

"Yea." Callen said.

"You sound like an old man."

Callen chuckled.

"Alright, you know what, go ahead. I'm curious now." Sam dared Callen.

Callen slowly reached for the dial before stopping just short. "You're not gonna kill me are you? This isn't some kind of test?"

"I'm driving G, I gotta keep my hands on 10 and 2. You're safe."

Callen eyed Sam suspiciously for a few more moments while Sam smiled back. Eventually, Callen reached over and began searching for a new radio station.

"Are we theeeerrrrre yet?" Deeks whined like a toddler.

"Deeks, I swear to God."

"How much longgeeeer?"

"20 MINUTES!" Kensi called out annoyed with her boyfriend. "Why don't you just take a nap?"

"God call babe. Wake me when we get there."

"Uh huh." Kensi replied annoyed.

"The hell is this?"

"What are you talking about? This is classic rock and roll." Callen said.

"Nuh uh." Sam replied while shaking his head. "First of all, no one says "rock and roll" they just say rock. Second, classic rock is Queen, Bon Jovi, The Who. This? This is the oldies. It's basically folk music, G."

"What's wrong with Cat Stevens?" Callen asked.

"Oh my god." Sam said. "Thank god, we're here." He said as he pulled into the parking lot and turned off the radio.

"Looks like we beat Bonnie and Clyde." Callen said looking around just as Kensi and Deeks began pulling into the parking lot. Kensi pulled up and parked in the spot on the left side of the challenger and rolled down her windows.

"Sorry we're late guys, Deeks, wanted to see if the hotel had a pool before we got here." Kensi said mocking Deeks.

Sam and Callen craned their necks to look past Kensi and over to Deeks.

"Don't worry, it does. S'got a jacuzzi too." Deeks smiled.

"Well, if we ever want to use it, we better get started." Callen said as all four agents exited their vehicle and headed toward the Navy Marine Mammal Program headquarter.

"Hey, you guys listen to the radio at all on the way over here?" Sam asked Kensi and Deeks.

"Yeah, why?" Kensi asked.

"Just curious." Sam said looking over at Callen smirking. "What you listen to?"

"Rock the Bells." Deeks replied. "You guys?"

Sam let out a hearty laugh while Callen just shook his head back and forth.

"You listened to that the whole drive over here?" Callen asked.

"Uh, yea, it's the greatest of all time, Callen." Kensi responded while Sam gave the two younger agents a fist bump.

"That's what I'm talking about." Sam said.

"Whatever. Hurry it up." Callen said leading the team to meet with the NMMP.
