Betty
It had been fourty-eight hours since Jughead went missing and the tension was building. No one at the Cooper/Jones resdence could stand still. Alice was using her connections to try and find a lead. FP was working the partial license plate. While Archie, Veronica, and Betty were going over the case in the living room. " What we know so far is that the man waited to take Jughead that night and had planned on taking him. We just need a motive. Who has a grudge against Jughead?" Betty says to the room as she paces around the coffee table. "Thats a tough one B it could be any number of people. Plus we may not know who it is and why they have a grudge."
"Do the serpents know their king is missing?" Archie asks from his spot on the couch. "Yes I told them yesterday and they are all out searching."
"Well then I guess the best thing we can do right now is be patient."
"I can't be patient Archie Jughead is out there and we have no way of helping him."
"Well we can't do much more tonight without any evidenc-" A knock on the door stops Archie from finishing his sentence. Betty stops her pacing and walks over to the door. She looks out the peak hole and sees no one. Deciding it is safe Betty opens the door and looks around for the source of the noise. As she is about to turn around and head inside she spots a letter on the ground atop a box. The envelope has her name in big bold letters and the box is unmarked. She slowly picks up the letter and the box and carries both inside. She sets the box on the table before turning the envelope over and opening it. Inside is a sheet of paper, a letter. It read. "Dear Ms. Cooper we have something you have been looking for rather hard. Forsythe is in our grasp and the little gift will list our demands that you must meet." Immediately Betty grabs the box and rips it open. As she does so Veronica and Archie look at her in confusion and worry. "Its from the people who have Jug." Is all she manages before handing Archie the letter. She looks in the box and finds a smart phone. At that exact moment it lights up and vibrates with a notification. Betty picks it up out of the box and swipes to unlock it. A text message from an unknown number scrolls across the notification tab. She clicks on it and the message opens to reveal a video file attached. She clicks the play button in the middle and video loads. When it does she can't keep the gasp in at what she sees. It is Jughead sat in a chair naked other than boxers. His chest is covered in bruises, as well as his face. His arm and hand are dark shades of black and purple. She can see where he has road rash from the crash on his hands. Both his legs are torn up the one that took the car directly looks the roughest. He head is resting on his chest until suddenly someone dumps water over him. He startles and jumps up spitting water out. That is when Betty sees the horrendous bruise ringing his neck that seems worse right in the middle. "Forsythe will not be making any funny quips this evening I made sure of it." A voice says before a hand appears to squeeze his neck at the worst part of the bruise. Jughead looks like he is screaming but nothing comes out other than gasps. She can't help her gasps and tears as the man finally releases Jug and she watches him gulp air into his lungs. He seems to finally notice the camera because he looks directly at her and winks. She smiles slightly at the assurance Jughead was trying to give. Another bucket of water and a hard punch to the face and Jughead is leaning to the left shivering. "Now Ms. Cooper we have a list of demands that you will meet or Mr. Jones will pay the price. No cops other than of course our good sheriff. No media other than Alice Cooper. First we would like you to get this message to both Alice Cooper and Forsythe Pendleton II. As well as your brother Charles. We will be video calling on this phone at 4pm tomorrow everyone will be or we will take it out on Forsythe here." The man says before the video. The tears streamed down her face and the sobs started to make her convulse. "B what's wrong what is on that phone?" Not having the words to describe what she just witnessed Betty hands Veronica the phone. She watches her friends faces distort into horror and worry as she watches through with Archie. "We have to get them the message or it could be the end of Jughead." Archie says matter of fact like as the video ends. "I know and I am not willing to take the chance lets go." They all stand up a grab their things ready for night time adventure of finding all of the listed people. Easiest to find would be FP. Betty however knew his reaction would be the hardest to watch. They absolutely had to get Jughead back she would not except anything else.
