Seth and the God girls grow closer while Sasha spends more time with Roman and his family. Hunter deals with the fallout of losing his family's trust and Stephanie and Bayley release the Black Heart Diaries and reveal more than the wrestling world expected.
Chapter Nine – Black Heart Days
The Black Heart Studios, Hollywood, CA
Beth Hardy watched as Bayley Johnson did her make-up in the mirror at Black Heart Studios.
"So, you fell asleep and when you woke up, everything was normal? That's weird," Bayley said Beth Hardy told her what happened at HayMac's New York apartment.
"I know," Beth said. "something must have happened, when I woke up it was time to leave,"
Bayley blushed her cheeks while Beth Hardy looked at her own face in the mirror. "I hope everything's okay, the last thing your Mom needs is to be blind-sided by Seth and the God girls," she said before smiling, "speaking of Seth Rollins, I got a call from Jimmy Choo. They want to put me and Seth in a commercial for their new fragrance, Black Heart. Apparently, there was a bidding war for who got rights to the name and Jimmy Choo beat out Armani by like half a million dollars. Our faces are going to be everywhere, people are going smell like us, how cool is that?"
Beth looked down at her shoes; they weren't expensive like Bayley's, but they were classy. Her mother always encouraged her to wear sensible shoes, being sensible was the story of her life. She tried not to let it show but she was envious of Bayley's new deal with Jimmy Choo. Not because of the famous brand name but because once again, Bayley would have her carnivorous arms around Seth's Rollins' beautiful owlish neck.
"I'm sure Sasha won't be too happy that you're making another steamy commercial with her husband," Beth said.
"Actually Sasha loves it, I told you, she gets me and she knows that the Black Heart Diaries needs this kind of publicity. All Seth has to do is stand there and look hot, it'll be the easiest money he's ever made," Bayley said applying her taupe lip gloss.
"But you will be making out with him, right? How could Sasha possibly be okay with that after what happened in Aruba?" Beth Hardy asked and Bayley sighed.
"Because it's just sex Beth, something you obviously know nothing about. If it wasn't for Bianca Belair, Seth wouldn't have even known that he was sleeping with me and not his wife. That stupid God girl better not get involved in anymore of my business or I'll wrap that stupid braid around her neck and suffocate her," Bayley said and Beth Hardy hugged herself, she was suddenly very vulnerable and she called her Mom to find out her ETA.
Bayley put down her make-up and pulled down her bodycom dress. Her legs looked better everytime Beth saw her and the McMahon-Hardy girl felt her insecurities about her own looks rising inside of her like a viper. Not only was Bayley married to the Rock, she was doing yet another photo shoot with Seth Rollins and Sasha didn't even seem to care. Beth on the other hand, was really starting to care, in fact, she was starting to care a little too much. The sound of Bayley's Jimmy Choo's clicking against the studio floor as she went to meet her husband pierced Beth's ears like a dentist's drill.
"You got really nice legs you know that?" Bayley told Beth who pulled down her skirt self-consciously. "I guess it runs in the family, Stephanie McMahon has the best legs I've ever seen, well, next to mine and Sasha's of course," Bayley glanced as Beth Hardy closely, "You know, maybe it would be good for you to be part of the Jimmy Choo shoot,"
"What?" Beth Hardy said mortified by the prospect of anyone dressing her up and putting her on camera, "why would I do that? My Mom's training me to be an executive not a model,"
Bayley sighed at Beth, "You know I used to be just like you. I had such low self-esteem and I was always hiding my body under these really big sweaters. Then one day, I got back to my hotel after a really hard match against Nia Jax and I had bruises all up and down my rib-cage. The next day at TV, I showed Sasha my wounds and she said my abs were awesome. After that, I started wearing tighter clothes. I started wearing skirts to show off all the bruises I had up and down my legs. I started to love my body and I wasn't ashamed of the toll my matches were taking on my skin and the more I showed it off, the more confident I got,"
"So what are you saying, that I need to wear tighter clothes and shorter skirts?" Beth asked Bayley confused and Bayley waved the wardrobe assistant over to her.
"Hand me that black strapless dress with tailored waist," she said to the assistant then Bayley took the dress and called Beth over to her. "Put this on," she said. "I want the Jimmy Choo reps to do a storyboard of us fighting over Seth. You pull him to one side and I pull him to the other, then he gets a whiff of my purfume and kisses me. Then you get jealous and storm off while he kisses me down to the ground while the camera zooms in on my Jimmy Choo's. It's perfect!"
"I can't wear this!" Beth Hardy said as Bayley held the dress against her body. "It's too tight, it'll hug my entire body!"
"Just put it on, I'll decide if you look hot enough to wear it. Go on, your Mom will be here soon and we can ask her what she thinks. Personally, I don't think you can afford not to do this Beth. You're clearly in need of some male attention and when this commercial goes live, you'll get more male attention than you've ever gotten in your entire life. How good does that sound?" Bayley asked Beth Hardy and Stephanie McMahon's daughter sighed at the idea of being seen all over the world. However, it was only the idea of Seth Rollins seeing her in the dress that made her change her mind.
"Bayley, do you think Seth would like me in this dress?" she asked Bayley bashfully and Bayley gasped.
"I totally forgot, you have a crush on Seth don't you?" Bayley said. "Maybe you should think about guys more your age Beth, I mean, you're only 19, Seth's in his thirties, you need to start a little lower on the totem pole,"
"You didn't answer my question," Beth Hardy said. "I asked you if Seth would like me in this dress,"
"What I'm saying Beth is that when Seth looks at you, all he sees is Stephanie McMahon's rich daughter and a troubled kid that used to go to his self-esteem classes. He's not thinking of you in any other way, he's not a sleaze bag," Bayley said. "Seth's a nice guy, so I guess the answer is no, he would not like you in that dress,"
Beth Hardy felt tears well up in her eyes and she threw the dress down and ran out of the studio, leaving Bayley wondering why Beth Hardy suddenly cared what Seth Rollins thought how she'd look in a little black dress.
Beth Hardy ran down the block wiping the tears from her eyes. "I'm not just Stephanie McMahon's daughter," she yelled angrily through her tears, "I have to get Seth to see me differently, I'm tired of being treated like a stupid kid,"
Beth Hardy walked down a parade of expensive designer boutiques and looked at all the beautiful items on display. "I wonder if Seth would like me in any of these dresses," she thought to herself and she called Finn Balor and told him to come to L A to do some shopping. She needed the advice of someone she could trust and that certainly wasn't her mother or Bayley. Beth noticed the legs of one of the mannequins and she thought about her own stems. She'd never thought about herself that way before but Beth Hardy was starting to have a lot of thoughts she never had before and none of them were good.
"See something you like?" came the sweet molasses voice of the Rock who joined her at the boutique window.
"Hey Rocky, I was just checking out the window," Beth Hardy said and she noticed that Rocky's eyes were red. "Rocky, are you okay?" she asked concerned, her tears had dried up.
"It's been a weird few days. My cousin Roman said he had something to tell me back in Aruba but he never got around to it. I just got off the phone with him and he told me that Bayley slept with Seth Rollins on our honeymoon," Rocky said and he was clearly upset.
Beth tried to act surprised, "Wow, I can't believe Seth had an affair with Bayley!" she said with mock surprise. "That is so low!"
"Actually Seth had no idea he was sleeping with Bayley. Roman said Sasha and Bayley used the sapphire necklace to make it look like they had switched bodies, so when Seth was in bed, he thought he was in bed with Sasha, not Bayley. The two of them planned this, Seth is completely innocent, he had no idea what happened, He took my wife's virginity without even knowing it," Rocky said. "I haven't said anything about it because I knew how strong Bayley's feelings were for Seth, I just had no idea she'd go to this length to sleep with him,"
"Yeah that's pretty hardcore, so are you going to ask her for a divorce?" Beth Hardy asked the Rock.
"No," Rocky said. "Bayley needs help, what she did was totally out of line, I mean using magic to get your best friend's husband into bed, who does that?"
"Bayley, Bayley does that!" Beth Hardy said. "She's freakin' Bayley Black Heart and she's crazy, you married a crazy person!"
"Maybe," Rocky said.
"No, definitely, she's definitely crazy, you need to confront her about it and make sure that her feelings for Seth are completely over," Beth Hardy said. "Maybe then, he'll have a real shot at happiness with someone who really cares about him,"
"You mean Sasha?" Rocky asked her and Beth Hardy looked down at her legs.
"I mean anyone who really cares about him," she said. "Do you think I have nice legs Rocky?"
Rocky looked at Beth Hardy surprised, "Where did that come from? I've never known you to care about what you look like,"
"Well maybe I care now, Bayley says she wants me in the new Jimmy Choo commercial with her and Seth, I wasn't sure I was pretty enough, then she told me to wear this super tight black dress and I ran out of the studio," Beth Hardy said.
"Why did you run out of the studio?" Rocky asked her confused.
"Because I would never wear something like that," Beth Hardy said. "but Bayley said that wearing it would make guys like me,"
"Guys like who?" Rocky asked her curiously.
"Guys who like my legs," Beth Hardy said and Rocky smiled at her.
"You know who would be great to talk to about this? Seth Rollins. He had this self-esteem class back when NXT was based out of Orlando, it was great. You need to go see Seth, then you'll feel a lot better about yourself," Rocky said.
"How can you say that after he slept with your wife?" Beth Hardy said.
"He didn't know he was sleeping with her, he's a good guy, the kind of guy I could trust with my daughter. Go see him Beth, then you wouldn't be losing your s*** over a little black dress, or checking out these ridiculously expensive outfits," Rocky said.
"Okay, I'll go see him now. Thanks Rocky," Beth said and she hugged the Rock before Transcending herself to the Sandbox to see the man she could possibly be sharing the screen with in a few days' time, as long as she had the self-esteem to do it.
