Jughead
Jughead hated the fact that he was being used like this. Especially against the people he loves and trusts the most. When Edgar ends the video call the man holding the camera leaves. Then Edgar nods at Kurtz who is standing beside him. Then without another word Edgar leaves the room as well. Alone with Kurtz is an unsettling thought all by its self. Accompanied by the fact Jughead was stoned out of his mind didn't help. It did help the pain he should be feeling all over his body. In Jugheads opinion being in pain is better than this. At least with the pain he can think of plans or at least pay attention to details. Like this all he can focus on is Kurtz and what he is doing. Kurtz walks around him before reaching up to where he is chained. He removes something because the next moment Jughead hits the floor like a sack of potatoes. Too stoned to function Jughead just lays there in a crumpled heap. "Oh Juggy you don't look good at all. Maybe we should get you some more medicine and let you sleep. That way your ready for our little visit." Kurtz says and Jughead wants to reply with something sarcastic but his brain won't form a sentence. Jughead looks up towards Kurtz and his brain stops. There beside Kurtz is Betty. She is smiling down at him like they just kissed. His vision is pulsing and distorted at the edges. Jughead tells himself she can't be real. She was just on the other side of that call. He tries to focus on fake Betty but the more he tries the harder she is to see. Great now he is hallucinating for any number of reasons. Drugs, Concussion, shock, blood loss. Pick any of the above. Kurtz is blabbering on about something but Jughead can't focus enough to hear. All he can and wants to see his fake Betty. Although he would never truly want her here this moment is comforting. He almost forgot how bright her smile could be when she is happy. With everything going on all he has seen is her worried or crying. Which is two of his least favorite things to see ever. He wants to tell himself that they will all complete their tasks and he can leave. Yet he knows somewhere that these three have more in store. Jughead is brought back to cold reality when Kurtz grabs him by the hair. He hauls him up so Jughead has to look at Kurtz directly. "We got some time before you're surprise so lets have some fun." Kurtz pulls out a syringe from his pocket and Jughead's eyes widen is worry. "Oh don't worry the stuff you are on now is pretty much burned off. This will make you feel really good." In that moment it occurred to Jughead he hasn't gone to the bathroom here. Or at least he doesn't remember doing so. He must be really dehydrated. Jughead looks up at Kurtz just as he jabs the needle into his neck. "Boss says I have to give you water and food. Might as well have my own fun of course." How ironic. In this moment they decide to meet his basic needs. In seconds Jughead can feel the drug kicking in and time starts distorting. Its like blacking out for ten seconds then coming back in only to be pulled right back out. He blacks out five times as Kurtz takes the gag off. Another five while Kurtz is gone. When he does come back its two before Kurtz is shoving a bottle of water to his lips. He stays focused enough to drink the water. Then he is pulled out of frame again. When he comes back Kurtz is pulling something off the table. Blackout. Kurtz is putting his arms through a strait jacket. Blackout. He is buckling it and starts pulling him towards the bed. Blackout. Now he is propped up against the wall. Kurtz has a hand out with what appears to be a spoonful of applesauce. Jughead tries to find a way to stay focused and not leave but nothing works. Then when he gets to his third bite of applesauce he starts counting. To keep track of time between but Jughead notices something. If keeps counting he doesn't blackout. He starts thinking again. As soon as another thought enters his head he leaves focus. Well now Jughead knows he can't think about anything other than counting to stay here. Great.
