A few hours later the party was over, and the only people still left in the lobby were Jack, Morrigan, Hawthorne, and Candace. Everyone else had either left or gone up to bed.

"Well, see you at Wunsoc on Monday, Morrigan," Hawthorne said heading for the door, "Happy birthday Jack!"

"Ya. Bye Morrigan. Happy birthday Jack." said Candace as she joined Hawthorne.

Jack, holding an almost empty bottle of wine replied with a drunken tone, "Thanks. Happy birthday to you too."

"You sure you can take him to his room. We'll help…" said Hawthorne starting to return to Morrigan and Jack.

"No. It's okay," said Morrigan, "see you Monday. Thanks for coming."

Hawthorne nodded and headed back towards the door with Candace. Waving goodbye, they left leaving Morrigan with a drunk Jack to bring to bed. Without warning Jack lay across Morrigan's lap.

"Hi." he said.

"Um…hi. Now I…" Morrigan responded a little confused.

"Your pretty." Jack said looking into Morrigan's eyes.

"Thanks. Now…" Morrigan said, trying to get Jack to get off her so she could put him to bed.

Suddenly Jack reached out and grabbed Morrigan's neck. Morrigan frozen in shock, he started to pull himself up until his lips touched hers. It was a brief unexpected kiss, before Jack let himself fall back into Morrigan's lap. Soon the sound of sleep could be heard.

Morrigan sat their eyes wide frozen on the spot. Then she relaxed and a small smile appeared on her face.

"Drunken idiot. Doesn't know what he's doing." she said.

Morrigan heaved Jack off her and up to his bed. Once she tucked him in, she went back to her room and went to bed herself, exhausted by what the day had thrown at her.
