"Kaigaku, these two are Raiden Mei and Kiana Kaslana. They will be learning breath of Thunder with you."
Pointedly ignoring the glare of distain from Kaigaku, like they were trash on the side of the road to which Kiana took deep offence to- Mei knew she did even without looking, she greeted the boy with a small smile and quiet 'hello'.
Kiana meanwhile scrunched up her nose, crossed her arms and looked away sharply, there was no intent of greeting to be found here. The dark haired boys glare grew darker at this.
Kuwajima sweatdroped at this, he knew that those two probably won't get along anytime soon. If ever.
"But why sensei? "
The boy asked and the dislike was so clear that Mei was surprised that the former Thunder Pillar had yet to reprimand him for such rude behavior.
"Because they want to become Demon Slayers! They survived a demon attack, now they want to fight back."
Kiana actually- Mei just came with because she didn't want her to get killed, not with how she is? was? a demon for a bit. What if it happened again? Mei couldn't help but stress over it.
Her apitite has been all over the place since aswell.
Somedays she refused to eat anything when Mei was recovering, other days she wanted to eat but couldn't figure out what and ended up not eating at all, other days it was like she didn't have any probelms at all.
Her personality was no better either.
One second she is her loud, brash, borderline arogannt self and then suddenly she's aloof and quiet.
Kuwajima-sensei assured her it was most likely just trauma, he's seen people act a bit wierd for a while aswell after surviving a demon attack.
But still she worried over it. She spoke no word about what happend right before her new teacher came, neither did Kiana. Mei guessed they silently agreed to let the problem hang in the air and (hopefully) disapear.
She really hoped it was only a one time thing with what happened to Kiana, yet she gets this horrible feeling that it's not.
"Æ !!"
That screech from Kiana was the only warning Kuwajima, Mei, Kaigaku and Zenitsu got before the Training bokken went sailing through the air, made contact with a tree and then splintering into pieces.
"This is stupid! I can't do this!!"
Kiana grouched, turned tail and stomped her way back into the estate. The ones left behind were frozen with wide eyes, starring after the white haired girl.
Kuwajima-sensei sighed exasperated and shook his head. "Please continue with your breathing, I'll go talk to Kiana."
Mei nodded slowly still spooked, as did Kaigaku. Zenitsu was trembleing like a leaf close to tears- but was shocked into silence at Kianas suddenly rage to actually say anything.
Going back her breathing again, Mei focused on herself. She thought about what has transpired these last few weeks.
As she had sword training from even before coming to the Thunder Estate, she was quickly allowed to go over to train Thunder Breathing. Kiana was a fast learner and was incredably talented in combat so it didn't take her long aswell.
Which did not sit well with Kaigaku. At all.
He would try to bully and antagonize her and Kiana. It didn't really do anything to Mei but leave her with unresolved suspense, considering Kaigaku sometimes halfassed his threats and insults when he realized it wasn't going anywhere.
Kiana was a double edged sword in this issue however. There was a 50/50 chance in either a: She'll bully him straight back usually with a comeback of a life time.
or b: She'll 'Neko kick' him.
Either way it's not fun.
A week ago Kuwajima-sensei dragged back an orphan named Zenitsu to back to the Thunder Estate, another Student he said.
He was a very nervous kid with self esteem issues that Mei recognized somewhat wirh herself. Not nearly as bad as with Zenitsu but she sees it.
Kiana saw it too and took the tough love aprouch with Zenitsu much like Kuwajima-sensei.
They weren't overly mean things, but were annoying. Much like an older siblings comments to their younger sibling.
"Mei Onee-sama, I think you figured it out!"
Zenitsus voice suddenly called and it caused Mei to splutter in surprise and look at the younger boy confused.
"I- what?"
"Thunder Breathing! It was like Oji-sans!"
Mei blinked. Then a smile was on her face.
"Really? You think so Zenitsu?"
"Tch." Kaigaku hissed out. The two looked at the boy, who looked like he wanted to say something but didn't in the end. He left them and wandered off into the peach forest somewhere.
Not long after Kiana came back running out of the estate and sort of glomped Mei from the back.
"Mei-Senpaaaaaiii! Jiji says I'll have to leave!!!"
Mei and Zenitsu flinched.
"w-wHAT?!"
"Don't just say that without context Kiana!"
Kuwajima-sensei scolded the foreighn girl as he walked out of the estate. Kiana pouted and stuck a tongue out at the old man
"*sigh* What she means is that I'm sending her off to train with someone else. Kiana is just not suited for the Breath of Thunder- I think Breath of Flames would be the way to go for her."
Mei frowned lightly at this explaination. She new that Kiana struggled with the breath of Thunder, but this much? She hadn't even realized it.
"The current Flame Pillar Rengoku Kyojuro is probably willing to take her in, and I'd be damned if they don't get along. He's a nice young man. "
"Do you want to go Kiana?"
The other girl was silent for half a second at this question. There was an unreadable expression on Kianas face. Mei worried that she went back to being aloof out of nowhere again-
"I'll go. If I can't learn a breathing style then I can't protect Mei-Senpai."
"You'll wright me a letter once in a while though right?"
"Yes of course! I'll write you one every single day!"
"Hey now, let's not overwork my crow."
This is the end for this chapter.
Rengoku will be Kianas mentor and according to my notes-He forfills the role of Himiko in this Crossover fic. Take it as you will.
