Walking closely together, Scooby, Shaggy and Courage ventured down the hallway. It was dark as midnight. Their footsteps echoed with every step. Their was another door to a room, The door creek open, revealing the musty darkness inside. Shaggy, Scooby and Courage couldn't help but grit their teeth together.
"Let's look around, guys. Maybe we can find a way out." Shaggy said.
He, Scooby and Courage went inside the room. The inside was dark and creepy as the hallway, as the trio looked around this exquisite gloom and grandeur, they were getting more and more creeped out.
Without any warning, there was a cracking sound. Shaggy, Scooby and Courage looked up and their hearts nearly stopped. The ceiling with spikes coming down ready to crushed the trio, they screamed out in terror.
"This looks like the end!" Shaggy cried out in terror, as he came over to Courage who was stunned and frozen in fear. "Goodbye little pink dude."
Scooby took out a picture of him Shaggy, Courage, Velma Daphne and Fred. "Goodbye, Courage, goodbye Fred, goodbye Daphne goodbye Velma."
"Goodbye Scooby-Doo old pal." Shaggy sobbed, as he gave his best friend, possibly one last hug.
"Goodbye Raggy." Scooby whimpered, as he cried onto his friend and hugged him tight.
Courage, who came out of his shock desperately tries to think quickly to get the ceiling stop coming down.
"Like excuse me little pink dude." Shaggy said calmly, but fearfully. "I'm not sure is the time to be staring off into space. I mean huge spiky things, ARE COMING ON DOWN US!"
"I know! I know!" Courage yelled panicking. "I'm just trying to figure out a way to stop it!" The ceiling was have down, to the point of having all three of them lying down.
"Can you think faster!?" Shaggy yelped in terror.
Courage frantically looked around to stopped the ceiling going down, if he didn't doesn't stop is soon, they'll all be squashed like bugs and getting inpailed in the progress. He could hear his friends whimpering and crying, as the ceiling was five feet down. He spot a red button that was by a petrified statue.
Acting fast, he quickly and fortunately hitting pressed the button right before the ceiling was completely down.
"Guys." Courage turned to see his friends still crying and whimpered, still thinking they're dead. "Guys, it's okay! I stopped it."
Scooby and Shaggy opened their eyes and realize the ceiling has stopped coming down on them.
Shaggy gave a nervous chuckle, "like wow, little pink dude, your quick thinking is total genius."
"Heh, thanks," Courage remarked with something of a bashful blush. "Come on let's get out of here."
He, Shaggy and Scooby begin to crawl out of the room and into the next hallway.
Shaggy lead them on, but it was difficult, especially with the intense threat of some kind of trap they could fall into next. They had walked in into some kind of bathroom.
"Like, I think we're safe in here guys." Shaggy said in relief.
"Phew." Scooby said.
"Thank goodness." Courage sighed.
As if Courage jinxed it. The door suddenly slammed and locked on it's own.
"Zoinks! Not a again!" Shaggy screeched, as he, Scooby and Courage ran to the door to try to desperately opened up, but like the door entrance it was locked.
Suddenly the sink and the bathtub turned on and in seconds, the bathtub and the sink were already filled and started to fill up the bathroom. All three of the screamed at the sight.
"OH MY GOSH WE'RE GONNA DIE!" Scooby yelped, jumping from paw to paw.
Shaggy threw his hand in the air. "Like, not helping Scoob! We're fine! There's barely any water!"
"Yeah, for now! But soon it'll be up to our knees! And then our waists, and then our necks, and then-!" Courage's eyes stuck on the water.
Shaggy bit his lip. First he had to calm Courage down, and then they could get out. "Look, everything will fine. As long as we keep a cool head, we can make it out. Alright?"
Courage took in a deep breath and nodded. "You're right." Fear was still in his eyes, Shaggy could recognize it, but he did a better job of hiding it.
Courage discovered that the water was up to his knees now. Courage looked around frantically to get a way out of here, that's when spot the keys up in the shelf.
"Guys! There's keys up there!" Courage shouted was he pointed to the keys.
"Zoinks! Good work little pink guy." Shaggy shouted.
"But how will we get up there?" Scooby asked, in a scared tone, as the water was already up to their waists and Courage now has to kick up to stay upfloat.
"Support me!" Courage spoke.
Courage and Scooby swam up to the shelf and Scooby picked up Courage and put him on his shoulders as, Courage grunted and grabbed the key.
"I got them!" Courage announced.
Then suddenly the bathroom started to shake, as if there was an earthquake. The keys slipped from Courage's paws as it went underwater to the bottom of the floor.
"No!" Courage cried out.
"I'll get them!" Scooby said in determination, despite his growing panic. He took a long exhale and dove underwater.
Courage and Shaggy watched with bated breath, even sometimes peering under the water to see if they could help. Scooby reached around almost blindly, groping along the floor for any sign of the key ring. At long last, his paw touched it and he immediately grabbed hold and swam back to the surface.
"I got them!" Scooby gasped as he broke through the surface.
"Good job Scoob!" Shaggy exclaimed, "Hurry, we gotta go!"
"But which one is it?" Scooby asked.
Wracking his mind for any answers, Courage examined the keys as best he could. "The sharp one!"
The water was getting higher, reaching their shoulders, much to their panic. Scooby quickly stuck the key into the hole.
Scooby fumbled, attempting to insert the key into the lock, but was having little luck, "Oh no! It won't go in, guys! It won't go in!" Right when he was cut off from air, Scooby ducked under the water.
"Scooby!" Courage and Shaggy screamed out in horror.
The water was rising rapidly still and was seconds away from filling up the entire room.
"Scooby hurry!" Courage pleaded, as he and Shaggy's heads finally made contact with the ceiling The water was to their necks and getting higher.
Holding the square lock with one hand, Scooby finally managed to get the key into the lock and turned. Or tried to, it seemed to jam anytime he attempted to move it. Scooby's lungs began to burn as the excess carbon dioxide was building up inside, waiting to be expelled.
"Scooby-Doo! hurry!" Shaggy yelled, sputtering as he spat out water getting into his mouth. "Like, we can't get much higher!"
His and Courage's heads had made contact with the ceiling, they manage to take breath before they're finally submerged in water. Shaggy and Courage swam up to Scooby to help him unlocked the door.
Finally, the lock gave way and was opened and the water burst out taking the trio with them. The trio gasped for air, coughing and sputtering. They took deep breaths allowing the air to filled up their lungs.
They just lay there for awhile, the three of them too tired and half-dead to do anything else.
Finally, after a considerable amount of time passed, Shaggy breathlessly said, "Everyone, like okay?"
Scooby gave a thumbs up. "Yeah, we're good." Courage said breathlessly.
Scooby stood up and started to walk, then suddenly he slips on what it seems to be a slide.
"Scooby!" Shaggy and Courage screamed as they attempt to grabbed the Great Dane, only to be going down the slide themselves.
The walls of the slide were covered in glowing moss, which allowed them to see where they were going. A wide curve to left or right appeared every so often. The slide also became steeper and steeper, causing Shaggy, Scooby and Courage to travel faster and faster, as they screamed.
Suddenly, the slide began to curve downward at a very steep angle. So steep, that it was a sheer ninety-degree drop. The three of them kept their backs against the wall. Their stomachs were in their throats as they experienced total weightlessness. Eventually, the slide took another ninety-degree turn horizontally, just like those tall, fast slides you see at water parks, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage soon reached the end of the slide. They're now in a dark room, and to their horror and despair, they saw yet another statue.
"L-L-Like, where are we, guys?!" Shaggy said, trembling.
"I ron't row!" Scooby said through chattering teeth.
"We GOT to get outta this scary house, and we gotta do it, now!" cried Courage.
There was a sound of an evil laugh, that made shivers ran down the cowardly trio's spines.
"W-who's there?" Courage stuttered.
"I didn't expect the three of you to get this far….." Said a eerie voice.
"W-W-What do you mean?" Shaggy whimpered.
The evil voice sighed, "so many questions….I think it's time for you to all to take a nap."
Scooby shivered in fright, "W-W-What do you mean?"
Then there was a odd smell in the air. The three suddenly over came with exhaustion. Courage's swayed long enough too see Shaggy and Scooby collapsed on the floor. He too then fall on the floor, unable stay to keep conscious, under the effects of this unknown mist. The last thing Courage saw was a black figure coming towards the three, and everything went black.
