After sitting in her room for a while think over what Jupiter had made her realize Morrigan finally got up and made her way back to the Smoking Parlor the give Jack his answer. As Morrigan entered the door frame of the Parlor she noticed Jack sitting on the same couch in the corner, quite literally twiddling his thumbs. Morrigan had walk up to him and sat down before he noticed she had arrived.
"Your back." he said.
Morrigan just nodded. She had tried to prepare what she would say but she had drawn a blank. So, as she sat there in the heat of the moment with Jack looking at her with anticipation, she decided not to say anything at all. After a moment's hesitation Morrigan leaned in and planted a quick kiss on Jack's cheek.
Jack's anticipation turned to surprise at the sudden gesture. It was a moment before he responded to what Morrigan had done, "You figured it out." he said sounding pleased but also quite relieved.
"Well, Jupiter helped." Said Morrigan.
"Uncle Jove's good at that sort of thing," he then leaned over to Morrigan to whisper, "I think he cheats with his knack."
Morrigan chuckled, that was probably true. Morrigan's chuckling made Jack begin to chuckle too. After a moment the two of them sat laughing quietly in the corner of the Smoking Parlor.
After the laughing had died down Jack took Morrigan's hands in his own. He looked up and stared straight into Morrigan's eyes. Without hesitation Morrigan did the same. After a moment of just looking at each other Jack closed his eyes and leaned in, lips puckered. Going along with it Morrigan too closed her eyes and puckers up letting Jack take the lead. The moment when their lips touch seemed to last forever. It was magical and it made Morrigan realize that she indeed wanted this. She wanted Jack.
At last Jack pulled away and smiled, "I love you Morrigan," he said.
"I love you too, Jack." Morrigan said smiling.
"Oh, how sweet." said Jupiter standing in the doorway looking at the two of them.
"Jupiter!" Jack and Morrigan shouted in unison. A look of annoyance on their faces.
"Sorry, sorry." said Jupiter as he turned and left the doorway his footsteps echoing as he walked down the hall.
After Jupiter's footsteps faded Morrigan and Jack's annoyed faces melted away only leaving amusement. They laughed for a moment as Morrigan began to rest her head on his shoulder. The two sighed and sat there contently. Letting the pink smoke roll over them.
