"Kensi, I say this because I love you," Deeks coaxed his girlfriend.

Kensi just clutched at the packet she was holding tighter. Which was pretty damn tight.

"Come on."

"No."

She even took a swipe at his hand like some sort of cat. Why were her nails so sharp? He thought that she kept them short. Anyway, that wasn't the point. The point was that he was trying (key word was trying) to prise something out of his girlfriend's hands. And he hadn't even managed to get to the prising part yet.

"Come on, hand over the candy corn."

All Kensi did in response to that request was to clutch her bag closer to her chest and turn slightly away from him.

And, yes, he was trying to get a bag of candy corn, the lovely Hallowe'en candy, off of Kensi. Because she had no self-control whatsoever and he was trying to help her. Really.

"But I'm not done eating it yet."

"Yes. Exactly."

"Which means I'm not handing it over."

"Kensi, you'll eat the entire bag if you keep it."

Kensi looked thoroughly unconcerned by this as she put another handful into her mouth.

"Yes. And?"

"And? And?" Deeks spluttered. "That's not a good thing!"

"It's not a bad thing either."

"Yes, it is! It is a very bad thing!"

Kensi shot him a dirty look which was just uncalled for. Shouldn't he be the one doing that? Kensi was the one who was apparently trying to make herself sick.

"I can't in good conscience stand by and let you eat the entire contents of that bag."

"Too late."

And before he could stop her, she had picked the bag up and ripped it over her mouth.

The candy fell out, unfortunately only most of it landing in her mouth. Even then it was too much and she started choking on it.

"That's disgusting," he informed her as soon as he assured himself that she was indeed still breathing.

She was fine. She just sent a lot of pieces of candy corn skittering across her lap and the sofa. They were wet and slimy and gross. And some hit him!

"It's a waste of candy," she said dolefully.

She picked up one of the pieces and pouted at it. Actually, pouted at it.

"It's all fuzzy," she complained, talking about the sofa fuzz that had attached itself to the now sticky piece of candy.

Deeks scrunched up his nose. "That's disgusting. Don't eat it."

"I wasn't going to!"

Yes, she was giving him an offended look but, honestly, he wouldn't put it past her. He held out his hand for it.

"Give it to me then, I'll chuck it."

Reluctantly (reluctantly), she put it in his hand. Yuck! It was all over and gross. He quickly disposed of it and returned only to find Kensi putting the bits of candy that could be saved into a pile. She was probably still going to eat that.

"I swear, your eating habits are horrendous."

Kensi shrugged, not denying it, and popped yet another piece into her mouth.

[xxxxxx]

"I still can't believe you ate all that."

"Deeks can you just stop talking about it for five minutes."

"I could but I'm not."

"Deeks."

"Alright, alright. I'm not."

"Thank you."

Callen and Sam exchanged raised eyebrows as they were greeted by this conversation this morning. Definitely one of the weirder conversations they had heard from their younger teammates but not the weirdest. And really, was it that weird of a conversation when it was seemingly about Kensi's eating habits?

"It's just that-"

"Deeks."

The two of them walked up to their desks with Kensi glaring at Deeks and Deeks with his hands in the air.

"I don't want to know," Sam muttered.

Callen smiled and shook his head. It was a futile comment because of course they were going to end up knowing. This was Kensi and Deeks, after all.

"Alright, alright. I'll stop talking about the unholy amount of candy corn last night." Deeks said, walking past him to get to his desk. Not fast enough as Kensi managed to jab him in the ribs. "Ow!"

Kensi was unrepentant as she sat next to Callen. "I warned you."

"Still don't want to know," Sam said, clicking through something on his laptop.

"Candy corn?" Callen asked. "Who eats candy corn?"

"Kensi."

"Kids."

That was Deeks and Sam respectively.

"All of you shut up."

"She ate a lot." Deeks said in a stage whisper.

"I am aware of this Deeks and I don't need to keep being reminded of it. It was just one packet."

"Of candy corn?" Sam asked with raised eyebrows. "That's quite a lot."

"See!" Deeks said, pointing his finger at Sam triumphantly. "Sam agrees with me."

"God forbid," Sam said in a dry tone.

"It wasn't even full because some of it spilled."

"Because you basically dumped it over yourself."

"I caught some of them in my mouth."

"Yeah," Deeks scoffed. "And choked on them."

Yeah, now Callen really didn't want to know. We're he and Sam this weird? He felt like he and Sam weren't this weird.

Kensi suddenly doubled over and clutched at her stomach.

"Hurts," she mumbled through gritted teeth.

"Bet you wish you had shared now," Callen said in an amused tone.

Kensi didn't give him any sort of smart retort. Mainly because she was focused on holding her stomach. Though she did give him the finger.

"Don't throw up in here," Sam warned her.

"I'm not going to throw up."

"You sure, Kens? You are looking a bit green," Callen told her.

Actually, more than a bit but that wouldn't make anything better. And he would also prefer it that Kensi didn't throw up in here.

"...shut up."

"Seriously, if you're going to throw up, leave," Sam reiterated.

"Can you all just shut up! I'm fine. I'm going to be fine!"

Unfortunately, that little speech of hers was ruined by an extremely audible gurgle coming from her stomach. Callen hadn't realised your stomach could make such sounds.
